z028 Riley
Fox, do the test subjects have nodes? Or is the genetic rewriting more like second or third gen novas?
Omar
I will try to have something up for Omar in a little bit. We have state inspections this week and my schedule is a little wierd, not to mention busy.
Mr Fox
They do have nodes, but none have very large ones. When you meet the others you will feel a subtle difference.
Amarant
So how does it work if we took the Node background, then? Is it just that our "nodes" function a little differently, and are smaller than those in Aberrant canon?

z028 Riley
The fourth race of the old Alliance in SG. There were the Ancients, the Asgard, the Nox, and the Furlings. You never see the Furlings or really get much mention of them beyond that they were in the alliance. *shrugs*

SkyLion
Slander!I'm very honest actually. I went to one furry convention to meet up with my first PbP ST who was in town for two days before moving to japan. I had an okay time of it but it wasn't my scene. The Mascots and the furry-porn kinda scared me. I will not be attending another one.Now cosplay on the other hand is a different story...but my costumes are all original so i don't even know if that counts.(And yes please don't call me a boldfaced liar. I do not appreciate.)
Forge
Well technically we did see the Furlings in the 200th episode, but who knows if we are to believe that or not...heh
SkyLion
I will be almost entirely afk over the next two days. Still hashing out some minor bits for my character. That's okay..Im going to be passed out until the rescue anyhow.Fox, could you please sticky this OOC and the other pertinent "reference" threads so they don't get all lost in the rotating jumble of character threads? Amarant
A quick question regarding the Eckhart post that just went up: are you rolling soak in your games? Or was that for a power of some kind?
Mr Fox
Good catch. Let me correct that. I'm rusty on ST system combat mechanics. In most of the games I run combat is more role play than roll play. This game kinda needs to be more about the mechanics.
z028 Riley
I'm assuming that initiative basically represents the order we should be posting in?
Mr Fox
Well, it is the order you act in. If you post before the ones ahead of you, you run the risk of being interrupted and should post your actions as tentative. Of course in combat you should always post your actions that way anyway. Don't say I DO this or that. Say I attempt this or that. You guys are pros, you know that.RULE ALERT:I am giving people 1 day to post when we are in combat like this. If you take longer than 1 day to post, you will lose your place in the initiative order and will go at the end of the round, or even lose your turn that round altogether. Don't want to hold people up after all when they are chomping at the bit to post.
Amarant
Alright, cool. I wouldn't have minded, one way or the other, I just wanted to make sure I was aware of that House Rule, if indeed it had turned out to be one (which it didn't). So it's all good. Mr Fox
I am in the process of updating my PMs and moving your character sheets to new PMs with the format: [starGate] Character NameI'm doing this to make things easier on me when trying to refer to your sheets to look up some stat or other. Please use the new PM to track changes on your character such as exp expenditures and such. I will be removing myself from the old topic in order to clean up my PMs a bit.Thanks. Stargaizer
I'm assuming that the roll for me was a power roll? If so, I'm going to assume that you'll let me know what I found out...
Mr Fox
That roll was for you to escape the computer system before it self-destructed. You succeeded. You downloaded several files about ancient devices they had captured and the language, but none of it was immediately useful. Given a short bit of time you will be able to add the data to your PDAs database on the ancient language. None of that does you any good at this moment though. Mr Fox
RULE ALERT:A suggestion was made that I like. Instead of rolling megas separately roll them with the other dice. If you have megas that apply then the first die in the list will be the Megas. Just note when totaling your successes the number of mega dice that were rolled. That will slightly lessen the clutter. (I won't have a problem with it if you do forget and roll them separately.)

SkyLion
Fox, I am trying to decipher your post. It looks like you rolled two dodges for me by splitting actions? If so, please not that dodge can be performed with either athletics skill or martial arts skill and naturally I would prefer using the martial arts version since she is better with that.Did you roll the dice for me because I lost initiative and you were speeding things along? Just ask me in the future if I want to split my dice pools or not since there may come a time when I would not. Otherwise thanks for the intro! Kazuo
Fox: If, for whatever reason, the guards' dice says that Walker wouldn't have succeeded at lifting a pistol from one of the guards and stealthing his way past them, let me know and I'll happily edit my post. Mr Fox
In combat: If you have the init advantage over your opponents and it is your turn to act, go ahead and state your intent and make both your Attack and Damage rolls. I will then subtract out the dodge or soak. That would be a big help. Thanks.
