jameson (ST)
Chapter 1 started, I'm not sure where Rodney and the Aussies live but they are in their neighborhoods ATM, I assume Penny and the Tiggers will give them a shout out. jameson (ST)
Cole and Ramani - The Equipment Feat provides 15 point of equipment per PP spent. You don't have to spend it all at this time but I wanted to make sure you were both aware of that...
SalmonMax
Waiting for the shout out.The Aussies live fairly close to the park we just dug a hole in. About a block away from the hole itself, in fact.

Adrian Moss
If I may suggest, the lads could live near Beford Park near the Bronx Botanical Gardens. That's in the Bronx, of course, which is north of Manhattan. Rodney could live near Hunt's Point on the Upper East side near, or on, the East River. How do we get around, btw? I fly, but the rest of you are taxi, or cab bound, unless you are really fast runners.
jameson (ST)
Posted for Rodney, if it looks like two groups will be formed I'll split out the once group for a new thread as needed.
jameson (ST)
It appears all the PCs are converging on the Bronx. I'll try to get an update out today.

Unless anybody has objection to this I'll take it as cannon, that puts Ozzie and Wally only a few blocks from the current event. Nominally all the mutants live fairly close to each other, the tigers being on the north side of the park, the aussies in the Bronx, Rodney on the upper east side. Of course NY isn't exactly a big island but everything is relative ...
SkyLion
I have never played M&M before. My only experience comes from the palladium days. That said, would anyone mind a martial artist mutant Pangolin joining this game?

Adrian Moss
It figures that whatever it is, Sky would ask for it. Why can't somebody just be a dog, possum, or raccoon? You know; something vaguely normal.

jameson (ST)
Penny is like white paper. White paper with some white ink on it ...She's like old people food, bland and kinda mushy ...She's like ... oh you get the idea Now that said I'm not taking on new players ATM, in fact Stargaizer and I were working together to bring him in but right now is just not a good time in game. Peanut Gallery: Devil's AdvocateConsidering the 'incident' also involved all creatures in the various zoos of New York, it would not be 'weird' for your cast to be completely off-the-wall creatures, as most people don't pay to see live roadkill. And really...you already have a Platypus and two White Bengal Tigers, doesn't seem that it would be too out of place imo.
jameson (ST)
I think perhaps the issue is that very fact. Of 5 mutants we have a platypus, 2 white tigers, a kangaroo, and a bat. Dogs, mice, cats, rats, and small birds should be much more common than exotic animals. That said it's less an issue of the animal and more an issue of the current state of the game and that there is already a player waiting in the wings when/if I can integrate a new PC. Ramani
I guess I just go over to attacking people right away instead of trying to intimidate them beforehand. This just doesn't work...
SalmonMax
It was pretty close, Joani. You gotta understand that there's no automatic successes here. The Porcubear had a chance to resist, and it made it with a lucky roll. Just put a point or two more into Intimidate skill if you want to use it more as a tactic, so you'll have the edge.+3 bonus is pretty wimpy. The Bear had +8...so right away you were at a big disadvantage.
jameson (ST)
Joani had a total of +9 (6 ranks +3 from Cha) the PB has +8 (8 ranks +2 for size -2 for Cha of 6)Basically Ramani has a +1 overall against the PB
SalmonMax
Ahh, nevermind. I see where I got it wrong.Nevermind.
Ramani
no no - if you look up the roll you see that my roll was a 14+6 - total 20. I just forgot to add my Cha-Mod which gave me another +3 for a total of 23.Curse them dice!
jameson (ST)
Moo - just wanted to remind you all that you each started this chapter with 1 hero point, not sure if everybody was aware of that fact. Hero points are detailed on pg 121 of the book.
Ramani
I think Ramani would've not understood Wally's warning. I suppose I roll without the bonuses?
Ozzie Bloggs
Does the +3 bonus stack on top of our reflex save? Just wanting to make sure.
jameson (ST)
Ramani, if you don't want to take the bonus you don't have to, feel free to explain in your narritive however you likeOzzie, yes it stacks. I guess I'm still holding over some of my old CCG logic (which is to say I said a +3 bonus not "AT +3")
jameson (ST)
Updated this post (http://www.rpg-post.com/ubbthreads.php/topics/131721/Re_Chapter_1_Test_01.html#Post131721), both Rodney and the Cyborg heard the flash-bang go off. Katalyst
My bad I should have stated that I wanted to hold my action till after the porcu-bear went.
jameson (ST)
If you hold your action you permanently alter your initiative value, you'll end up going after the PB EVERY round thereafter. You can specify this new initiative total or just wait until some time later in the round and act then, fixing your new initiative at that point.Delaying is useful if you need to see what your friends or enemies are going to do before deciding what to do yourself. Katalyst
Oh well then I guess I'll go ahead and post Ozzie's action.
jameson (ST)
OK. I should note that there is another manuver which would let you INCREASE your initiative but would require a full round of not acting:Originally Posted By: M&M Rule Book pg 158REFOCUS (FULL ACTION)Refocus is a full action during which you cannot move. You do nothing that round except refocus your attention and appraise the situation. On the following round, you move up in the initiative order and are positioned as though you rolled a 20 on your initiative check. The usual modifiers to Initiative checks apply to your new initiative total.
