Battlestar Valkyrie: Operation Bifrost - The Wardroom (ooc)

Recommended Posts

Joani, if I've gone over the top ion the investigation side, then let me know, and/or feel free to edit it yourself.

Unfortunately in RL I'm a physicist, who also studied a little psychology, married to a psychologist who has worked briefly in forenisc psychology (mainly sex-offenders but including murderers). I've been roleplaying for 27 years and so have accumulated a wide range on information on firearms etc, unusually for the UK I have actually attended a gun club a couple of times and in recent years have probably spent far to much time catching bits and pieces of various CSI style programmes, both real and fictional.

Given all that I may have gone over the top on what you were expecting for the investigation, so as I said, feel free to trim/edit as necessary for what you wanted to deal with. smile

Cheers Joani.

At the moment I'm going on mainly his perception and intelligence being at least reasonable and his years as an NCO. So he is telling the specialists in the squad what he wants, and will wait to see what they can actually give him.

Just out of interest what sort of weapons do they use in BSG? From what I remember of the first series they were basically modern firearms? If so there could be powder residue on surfaces and around wounds that might indicate where each shot was fired, assuming the gravity was still on at the time?

I'd like to ask a favor from you - My suggestion would be to add more and more NPCs as crewmembers to the "Protagonists" thread. I would like you to create those NPCs with their stats using the standard creation rules for recruits. I would take over NPCs of greater importance of course but for crewmembers et al I'd appreciate if we could share our creativity.

Since most of you are in a commanding position it would be great if you could add some NPCs that you regularly deal with. That would also extend to friends and wingmen for example. Rorx could flesh out his little "SWAT" team. Max could add some pilots and make a roster, Aggrippina could add some deckhands and knuckledraggers - I hope you catch my drift. I think this game and the setting profits a lot from flesh out PCs and NPCs and with your help we could add some more exciting detail (and imagine if some of those "loved ones" die over the course of the exodus).

I hope for positive feedback - share your thoughts. Thank you.

Just to explain this, Col. Erasmus wants those three ships above the remaining heavy and lux liner, so if any vessels jump in, the attackers aren't screened by them... I hope that makes sense.

I assume the Lux Liner is the Genome(sp?) Prophet. Bedrock's Raptor would still be connected somewhere, and presumably a Raptor that Scarface and his squad used to get over there, which now has the bridge crew's bodies in it.

Would Scarface or one of the squad have heard the orders to move away from the Heavy and Lux?

No problem on generating the squad, just got think what their specialisms would be.

@Rorx - your assumptions are right. As far as the orders are, those may have been overheard because of the lax of communication protocols atm.

@all - I'm going to wait for the next weekend before I will wrap up the Prologue (it's just a prologue anyways) and will put you in Chapter one around Monday 22nd presumably with everyone in one place. That should give you all a better chance to interact with eachother and tackle the plot that's on the horizon.

I hope you are enjoying yourselves so far.

I just got message that Fox is bowing out of the game. I will be taking over his Character and turn him into a NPC since he is involved with the current situation. He will effectively be treated as a NPC from now on.

Tell me if you need anything from me to move the story forward. If you guys plan on doing another run on the Gemenon Prophet just give me the heads up and I move you there.

I will follow up with an update in the crewquarters after the weekend. I want to give you guys some more time to make plans before I move post something.

Argh, I'm sorry!

I'm just blocked! After the whole thing with the Chief, my brain just froze.

Who all besides Callisto is in on this investigation again? I think a staff meeting's in order to coordinate our efforts and make sure we don't do that again. smile

The Staff as such, issued by the Admiral himself is set up as follows:

Captain Calisto - head investigator

Lts. Scarface and Bedrock (that's Rorx's and Nathan's PCs) as your direct assisstants. Scarface, since he was part of the boarding crew that was on the bridge shortly after Bedrock reported that something has gone seriously wrong over there. Bedrock is on the team as the first witness of the scene and computer specialist. Scarface has a minor history on forensics and analytics about 'crime scenes'. He has been on a special Colonial Marines SWAT Team before he became a Viper Pilot.

I hope that clarifies things for you.

Unfortunately Michael/Col. Erasmus didn't check back here. I will turn him into an NPC for the time being until I get an update on his status.

Any interactions with him will be done by me.

I'm on a motivational low for BSG atm and I try to work myself out of it. Until then I ask for patience. I don't want to quit this game - I just need some time to retackle it with more force. Next up will be a rather large battle which I need to playtest first (haven't used the rules before). Once I've managed to do that I'll update you all accordingly and hopefully move forward with the game.

I'm really sorry about this but I thought it is better to leave a message instead of not saying anything at all about the situation.

Thanks for holding on.

Argh, I'm sorry...it's probably partly my fault. With all the updates I keep trying to keep up with, I've been neglecting this game. I will post to BSG this very morning, as soon as I have more than a few minutes to rub together.
