Notes on Appearance and Personality:

Admiral Kerrington is one of the few in the Colonial Military Fleet to have participated in the last Cylon War. He is known for his extremely pragmatic approach to his assignments and for zero tolerance policies concerning the Cylons. Even after 40 years of peace he has never slacked his command and always acted as if the Cylons could attack any given day.

Admiral Kerrington has few friends among the Military and many enemies within the Government. Many would have preferred that he’d retire from active duty and return to Caprica but his sense of duty forbids him to even think about retirement. Admiral Kerrington is of average height and athletic build, even for his age. He is very charismatic and is used that people do what he wants. He seldom explains his intentions and if he does that usually means that you’re in trouble. He has never failed his crew and is extremely respected among his peers.

His former command was the Battlestar Valiant which got damaged beyond repairs during the intercolonial war between the colonies of Picon, Scorpia and Leonis – a war he deemed completely unnecessary and damaging to the Colonial Military Fleet’s reputation. He earned himself the Medal of Valor for his dauntless effort to put the war to a swift end, something he is not particularly proud of.

Doughal "The Bull" McLeod earned his nickname during the final battle of the last skirmish between the colonies. Picon and Leonis were at each others throats again, and during the siege of the rogue colony the Leonids launched a desperate last attempt to break out at what they believed was the weakest point in the blockade of their moon. At the time McLeod was the XO of the destroyer Perseus. During the initial salvo the Captain of the ship was killed leaving McLeod in charge. He managed to hold on long past the time when both his own crew and the Leonids thought the ship would have been crippled. The battle lasted three hours and only ended when Caprican reinforcements arrived. McLeod was lucky, or unlucky enough to have a reporter with their film crew on board at the time, and his bloody face as he held his position in the face of overwhelming force was forever embedded in the minds of the people of the twelve colonies. From that time on he was known as the Bull and considered a Colonial hero by 11 of the colonies, the Leonids have been known to call him less flattering things.

After the battle he was assigned to command his own Destroyer, the Herakeles, a brand new ship straight out of the ship yards. True to his nickname, he hasn't allowed the designers to saddle him with what they feel is the latest and greatest technology. The ship was barely out of it's 'sea' trials when the Bull started making modifications, starting with breaking the full networking of all systems. He is old enough to remember what it was like during the first Cylon War and not want to repeat the mistakes of the past. Luckily he has just enough fame and political pull to get away with it and remain in command.

Agrippina Solas

Agrippina is from Aerelon. Despite the planet's lack of 'home-grown' technology, the young woman was fascinated by machines and their inner workings. She studied them throughout her childhood; when she joined the Fleet, there was no question what she would pursue.

Her record in the Fleet was solid; she made some mistakes, but she was a solid worker with a knack for working on engines. While off-duty on Caprica, she met Ren, and they began dating She'd just been made Chief of a small warship (not a BattleStar) when her life went weird.

She went to visit Ren, only to find him dead with another man bending over him. Enraged, she attacked his murderer, only to have murderer toss her about like a kitten. The police arrived and the murderer fled, leaving her injured. None of them saw the man flee, so Agrippina was blamed for the murder. Her description of the murder's physical abilities didn't help; no one knew of the skinjobs then, and her story sounded like bad lies. She served time, but appealed her sentence when another case like hers came to light. Fortunately, the other person had proof of a 'super-murderer' and enough details matched that Agrippina was released.

Her return to the Fleet was tarnished for a while; people still believed that she was the killer. But she worked hard and in time received a promotion to a BattleStar, then to Chief of the Valkyrie.

Personality:

Agrippina is said to be a sour, humorless woman. This is not totally true; her dry, bitter humor is rarely seen as funny. For example, the large hammer she hangs on the wall of the flight deck is often asked about. If she's around, her crew tells people that she's been known to use it on misbehaving engines. When she isn't around, the story becomes misbehaving pilots.

Appearance:

She was once pretty, but her sour expression and the scar on her face had taken that away. She is swarthy and well-built - a typical Aerelon build. Her perpetually mused hair is a fine red color and her eyes green.

Appearance:

Mel Richter is not tall in stature, lightly built and lean. She has short black hair and unusually pale blue eyes that contrast with it remarkably. Her features make her seem cute, even spritely...it's hard to see her as being one of the more dangerous pilots in the Colonial Fleet. She's very expressive as well, and has a notoriously bad poker face.

Personality:

Captain Richter's personality has been compared to 'a steel bar wrapped in a thin layer of velvet.' She can smile and be social, but there's always a sense that it's only skin deep. What's underneath comes out when things get rougher, especially when she's in the cockpit. Cold and controlled and precise. In spite of this, or perhaps provoking it, she feels her emotions no less keenly. In fact, she is an extremely emotional person. Rather, it seems to be a sort of insulation, or a means of harnessing that energy to fuel her successes.

Richter believes unswervingly in the potential of human beings to accomplish anything, if they have the will to do it. Failure is a symptom of self-sabotage or failure of will to succeed for her. From this also springs her disdain for any but the most necessary of tools...she respects those who can fend for themselves with the absolute minimum reliance on anything not human. In general, she gives a very wary eye towards developments that reduce human involvement in any given situation.

Melara has a fear of heights and falling, dating back to an accident during survival training. This resulted in the death of a squadmate to whom she was close to, and the severe injury of several more, including one who lost the use of his legs permanently. Though Melara was able to recover from her injuries with time, treatment, and extensive grueling physical therapy, she still experiences sensations of vertigo when at altitudes in a gravity well. In space, or even in orbit, she reports no difficulties. There has to be gravity and a horizon. The sensation isn't crippling, but it's distracting and does reduce her effectiveness.

Name: Jhonen Erasmus

Assignment: XO, Battlestar Valkyrie

Born on Picon into one of the large hereditary military families, Jhonen enlisted when he came of age and eventully found a place in the Navy as a security chief abord the modified destroyer Chiron, which was tasked with monitoring and transfering prisoners to and from the penal mining platforms near Leonis. During a particularly large transfer, a riot broke out that lead to the bridge of the Chiron being taken and the command crew being executed at the hands of the prisoners. Erasmus rallied the remaining petty officers and armsmen and retook the ship. Despite the massive loyalist losses and the perhaps unnessesary execution of all prisoners on that transfer; the Picon Naval Command was impressed and Erasmus was fast-tracked to command. He commanded the destroyer Hydra with distinction for 3 years until it's destruction during the second Leonis insurrection. It is whispered by Picon Naval Cadets that Erasmus fired the last shots of the Hydra personally, dragging his ruined body across the gundeck, pulling the lanyards with his teeth. It was during that vessels destruction that he lost his arm and gained the massive scarring across his body.

After a full year of recovery and advanced medical treatments, he was deemed fit for duty and was informed of his new command: The Battlestar Valkyrie.

From Picon Than got his unfortunate name from his distraught father as his mother had dead giving birth to him. After a childhood spent mainly in one boarding school after another Than joined the CMF as soon as he was able to at 18, going into the Marine corp. After 10 years of service and making his way up to Sergeant he got a field promotion and was later sent to OCS when the promotion was confirmed. While at OCS his hobby of flying civilian and ultralight craft was noted and he was assigned to a experimental programme for Marine Aviators. On completing his training, and a few boring tours and PR events, he has been assigned to the Valkyrie, coming aboard with the last crew and supply transfer.

Although he is now an officer his outlook is still largely that of an NCO, as that is where the majority of his expierence has been.

Physically he is 6ft tall, and of medium but wiry build.

Brown hair and eyes are fairly normal, but he gets his callsign from the slight scars and surgery lines down the left side of his face and neck, the best the field hospital could do at the time.

His only unusual past-time is whittling various items out of wood and offcuts of suitable plastics, which he gives to friends and associates.

Dr. Terrance Hamal

Rank: Major

Age: 48

Marital Status: Married (24 years) to Bianca Hamal, 2 children

Specialties: Surgery, General Practice, Internal Medicine, First Aid

Personality: Grumpy, gruff, and grim. Hamal is the kind of person who smiles rarely. He makes a point to assume the worst first and downgrade his predictions later. Oddly while his patients tend to be freaked out by this he is a better doctor as a result as he is far more thorough in his examinations and diagnoses.

Homeworld: Tauron

Description: Tall and broad Hamal’s hair is mostly grey and white. Stress, he claims, robbed his hair of color, but he didn’t go bald because this makes him look even older than he is.
