Appearance: To the eye Rich is a 20 year old white male, very male if you know what I mean. Average height for a guy. We have some before (link) and after pictures (link) and its obvious his ‘hotness’ has gone up a lot. What can I say? He’s healthy and hot. Very “Tom Cruise”-ish, he has brown hair and eyes.

Background: A 45 year old expert in nuclear safety engineering who erupted with, shock, nuclear safety engineering powers. Who said engineers don’t have imaginations? Initial reports said his eruption was from the space station’s radioactive rods landing near him, but that’s denied by NASA and the NRC (Nuclear Regulatory Commission) now. :Cough: Cover-up :Cough: Rich is ex-navy and used to be married. His wife and one of his kids were killed in a traffic accident 6 years ago. That's what messed up his face in that 'before' photo. He has two daughters ages 13 and 19. Younger one is in a coma from the same accident.

Powers: This guy can heal, like, anything with a touch. They claim cancer, AIDS, and there’s some seriously impressive news footage where he regrows someone’s hand. No shit (link). Supposedly he can also make radioactive stuff non-radioactive. Turning nuclear waste into lead doesn’t seem like it’d be useful at parties but whatever, he’s an engineer. Dude can also become “energy” and fly and maybe do other things. There’s a report saying he turns invisible when he does this and some news footage showing he doesn’t. Another victory for CNN.

Legal Status: Citizen of the USA, no criminal record I could find, resident of Chicago. Works for the NRC, but it’s hard to believe he’s going to keep a 40k a year job when he can cure cancer. They’re trying to get some kind of accelerated MD program for him to make “Doctor” a real title. Bab's Translation: Chicago Hope doesn’t want to kick out the guy with the cure for cancer because he doesn’t have a medical license.

Conclusion: Got some leftover baggage with the kids but a gal could do a lot worse. Very handsome, unmarried, destined for money, a rising star, and didn’t walk out on his first wife. There might be a boredom issue because, you know, engineer. Or maybe he got some social skills with going nova.

New Human Program: Michael Peters

Known Abilities:

Bio-luminescence: Michael Peters has demonstrated the ability to generate ambient light without affecting anything in his area (IE. no increase in temperature or any other conversion that would occur in a conventional source of light). This light is similar to candle light in appearance. Originally, this light occurred under stressful conditions, but Mr. Peters has shown to be able to manifest and suppress this ability at will.

Armor: Another ability that first manifested under stressful conditions; Michael Peters can cover his body in metallic silver that protects him from hostile stimuli. When appearing, this covering seems to flow over him like a liquid, but testing has shown it to be extremely resilient to the point of bullet-proof. The full limits of this armor is unknown, but it is doubtful that it cannot be pierced. Other interesting features of this ability include that it does not impede his movement in any way, but still provides full protection at traditional weak points, such as the eyes and joints. It also does not affect his peripheral vision, despite the fact that it should. This has been chalked up as another quantum fueled impossibility. Further experimentation is required.

Flight with Hypermovement: Michael Peters has demonstrated, quite dramatically, the power of unassisted human flight. Although top speed has not been adequately tested, he is capable of sustained flight at several hundred kilometers per hour. An unusual feature of this ability is that, during its use, Michael Peters seems to grow or create a pair of feathered wings from his back. Testing has shown these wings to be only constructed light, some sort of advanced hologram. Again here, Michael Peters shows the tendency of his powers to use light in their creation.

Quantum Bolt: On one occasion, Michael Peters somehow focused light in his hand and projected it as a weapon similar to a laser. It is unknown at this time if such an ability is connected to his bio-luminescence, or an separate power altogether.

Regeneration: The first power Mr. Peters manifested, Michael has the ability to regrow and heal damaged tissue at a fantastic rate. He healed a severe gun-shot wound to his lower abdomen overnight and has since shown to be able to heal small nicks and cuts almost instantly. Since testing of this ability could be quite traumatic for Mr. Peters, as his ability to feel pain is undiminished, the upper levels of his regeneration is unknown.

Super human strength: Michael Peters has the physical capability to exert several tons of force. While not in the power-class of other New Humans such as Titan Omega or Cestus Pax, his strength is clearly above human capabilities.

Awe-Inspiring: On few occasions, Michael Peters has somehow been able to subtly alter his appearance as to make him super-humanly inspiring. According to what few witnesses we've been able to interview, his appearance doesn't change, but he seems to be almost "divine" as one witness put it. Whether this is a physical change, an exuded hormone or some sort of psychic manipulation is unknown. The possible ramifications of such a power could be ***REDACTED**

Notes:

The overall 'theme' of Mr. Peters' abilities seem to be ideologically driven, as opposed to the more common situational manifestation of quantum abilities seen in other Homo Sapiens Novus. His abilities demonstrate a definite Judea-Christian tone (The candle light emission, the cruciform face-covering of his armor, the glowing wings), and that, coupled with his religious leanings, leads to the idea that a Nova's eruption event could be formed by more then the situation a person finds themselves in when their node first activates. Perhaps a powerful desire to emulate a certain action or behavior can lead to a specific quantum form. Further research will be performed as the trend of newly erupted nova's continue to be examined.

Background:

Michael Peters was born in Washington DC into a military family. His father served with distinction in World War II, his mother was a dedicated stay-at-home wife. Michael was raised hearing stories about the army and the war. He decided early on he wanted to serve. Following his desires, he did well in school and graduated with honors from high-school. His social life during his teen years was also excellent as his good looks and way with words made him friends easily. When the conflict in Vietnam erupted, Michael signed up immediately, seeing a chance to serve under fire. He served in Vietnam until the end of combat there in 1975 and returned to America a Staff Sergeant.

After that he worked in an administrative position in Washington until he retired in 1985, marrying a French woman, Genevieve Landry, who worked with the military as a civilian psychiatric care worker with shell-shocked soldiers. She died of lung cancer in 1991.

Michael became involved with the Immaculate Heart of Mary parish during the 1990's, becoming a local celebrity known for his good works and charity. On the same day of the Galatea explosion, he was accidentally shot by a police officer who responded to a break in in Michaels home. He then disappeared from the Washington Mercy hospital during his change into a homo sapiens novus.

Juno was born to Hector and Alicia Reyes, two American servicemen in the US Army. Her early life was lived in base housing, in the US, as well as in Guam, and finally Saudi Arabia, though only briefly. Alicia Reyes was killed in a training accident while in Guam, leading to Hector requesting reassignment. In Saudi Arabia, Mr Reyes improperly sought relations with a local woman, ultimately impregnating her. He was discharged from service as a result of this scandal, but retained custody of the child, as its safety could not be assured in its mother's custody. On returning to the US, Hector rejoined the workforce, requiring Juno to help with caring for her baby half-brother...leaving little time for her own past-times.

Juno erupted when the house she lived in collapsed during the earthquake that struck the LA area on 'N-Day.' Her eruption saved her life, as well as her brother's, by allowing her to instantly reinforce her body and recuperate from whatever damage she sustained.

Renee Byrnes publicly revealed her novus status during a lecture, during which she revealed full knowledge of the other students' thoughts; she has indicated that her eruption occurred at least one day earlier while she wrote a thousand word paper with her mind on her laptop.

Personality:

Renee Byrnes has demonstrated polymathic and philomathic tendencies in the arts, humanities and popular culture; she is fluent in four languages besides English, capable of using a computer to its fullest capacity, and an excellent researcher. Known Quantum Powers: Devin is a nova with the rare power of precognition, the ability to perceive in his mind's eye the events of a possible future. Speculation states that Devin’s MR Node mentally scans the probability spectrum of alternate futures.

He also possesses the ability to teleport himself, the clothes he is wearing, and, within limits, a certain amount of additional mass that is in contact with him. His teleportation functions by accelerating himself to a speed that literally shifts him into a separate pocket, or tunnel, allowing him to manipulate the space between two points. He accelerates through it, and then returns to his own ‘reality’, at a certain distance from his point of departure. Although Devin controls his co-locative ability with his conscious mind, his power to teleport is not temporal in nature. He can however co-locate his senses temporarily, but the range is very limited.

As he disappears when teleporting, Devin leaves behind only a rigid blur as his body accelerates to a speed that cannot be detected, even by nova senses. His teleportation is invariably accompanied by the echoed sound of a strong wind through a large tunnel. This sound is a small portion of the atmosphere from the tunnel that escapes while the aperture is open.

General Appearance

Gwyn, as he is normally known, is of only average appearance despite his fit, athletic condition as a result of years of martial arts training. Perhaps this is due to his obviously broken nose, or the small scar over his right eyebrow. His tendency to dress casually (jeans and at-shirt or sweatshirt) even for work was occassionally an awkward issue when he first started working with the Civil Service, but his colleagues got used to it.

Summary

Mr Jones was vetted and cleared for his current Top Secret Atomic rating prior to his starting with the 'Button' Team at the AWE (Atomic Weapons Establishment). Since then we have found nothing sufficent to put that level of clearance at risk.

Mr Jones attended university at the UCNW at Bangor, returning to the area of North Wales that his family had left when he was 10. He obtained a high 2/I Honours degree in Physics and Electronics, although it was the opinion of his lecturers that he could easily have obtained a 1st if he had spent less time on his hobbies and more on his studies. At this time his hobbies were martial arts (predominantly karate, although a different style to that he started in Kent, with forays into judo, ju-jitsu and tai-jitsu) and roleplaying/wargames.

Since Last Review

His last vetting was carried while he was still living in Bangor essentially still in the university environment and claiming benefits while waiting to start work in 1989. Whilst working at AWE Gwyn has continued with his hobbies, finding other gamers among the staff and making frequent trips back to Bangor to visit friends who remain in the area. In addition to the unarmed martial arts Gwyn has also engaged in sampling a variety of weapon styles. These have covered the range from classical japanese styles through escrima and jo/bo-jitsu to dark age and medieval historical re-enactment.

Duties

Mr Jones duties at AWE include research in physics and explosives with maintaining a capability to disarm or disrupt munitions up to and including nuclear weapons. At the time of this report Mr Jones is seconded to the Royal Military College at Shrivenham teaching some of his techniques to elements of 2 Commando and the 59th Support Squadron.

Conclusion

We have been unable to find any cause to revoke Mr Jones clearance, nor do we expect to do so, as this young man takes his important and potentially dangerous job seriously.

Traumatic or defining childhood experiences (if any): Being raised by a succession of bad step-fathers while her mother drank herself to death. She ran away from home aged 16 and hasn't been back. Her mother died two years ago.

Brief description of childhood: Violent, lawless and generally headed straight for jail. If it wasn't for her music, she'd be inside already.

In her teens, she got interested in activism and trying to change the system by making a lot of embarrassing noise. She's rapidly grown cynical to the idea that it'll actually make a difference, but joins in various protest movements anyway just on the principle that it'll get on someone important's tits.

Achievements so far: Not getting knifed, bottled, glassed or having a pool cue wrapped around her head. Staying out of jail, though she has a criminal record for petty larceny and at least two separate counts of assault.
