Table Talk -- OOC -- Hunting down the Sun

Recommended Posts

Or, Sir Lucas Del Sol, as it is.

What can we do?

I suggest that we split up into groups and look for clues!

Group One, Galiana, Sir Robin, and the Rabbi, should go to the Lancea members in the city and see if they can find out where his haven is/was. Having some place to start the search would be nice.

Group Two should cover the bases at the morgue angle. It shouldn't take long to figure out if a vampire is there, but it should be covered. Someone should go with Angie. I nominate Adrian.

Group Three should try to figure out what hunting grounds this guy might have had. Antione, Ashe, and Larry know the city best of us all currently present. Its a huge effort, but help will be on the way.

Group Two should join either Group One or Group Two when they are done. All groups can converge on the haven if its location is learned.

Does every group have at least one phone?

Other suggestions?

Ashe has Streetwise(2) and an overall good feel for hunting grounds - but Gangrel tend to hunt different than Daeva. Fortunately Antoine is Daeva that might come in handy but then again Antoine has really been extremely low profile in society.

Besides that I agree with your suggestion - looks solid.

Could people volunteer any information on their characters which might indicate how they can best help our hunting efforts? It could be people you know, or a general knowledge of the Rack, or just a dice pool level that would indicate a bent toward proficency at a certain task.

Please?

Adrian is really good at finding and examing clues (8 dice in Investigate). He is adequate finding information on the streets (5 dice in Streetwise).

He has little in the way of Vampire Social Skills (0 status in his clan and his convenant).

His high humanity (7) means he is less likely to get into the predatory mindset that Sir Pietro recommended.

If you find a body, Angie's your girl. Otherwise, she hasn't got much in the way of skills to help.

She has a friend in the police department though, who could make inquiries...once we have some idea of what inquiries to make. She has enough pull in the hospitals to pull records and check bodies.

She's got the disciplines to turn invisible, and boost her senses and read auras.

That's all I got. smile

Larry has Status 3 with the Crones and Status 2 with Nossies. That might conceivably be of some help.

He has a dice pool of 5 for Streetwise rolls.

He knows several Cruac rituals, none of which seem like they'd be of great use. Nightmare 2, Resilience 1.

Larry has Humanity 5. He finds if fairly easy to think like a predator.

Information Discovered:

Group One(Sanctified Researchers):

Lucas del Sol is/was Daeva(for the sake of simplicity, I'm going to say is) and is probably the next in line to be the region's cardinal if the disparate domains can actually get together and, I don't know, communicate.

Sascha, the Nosferatu sorcerer promptly tells you that Lucas is alive. His reasoning for this is that there is no predator on earth that could bring him down and that those of you without an inkling of his dedication to the mission of the Lancea Sanctum should be ashamed of yourselves for thinking otherwise. Being pressed on this issue only serves make him angry.

Lucas also traveled with a bodyguard. Nobody knows this one's name as it didn't seem to speak any language aside from a few obscure ones that Lucas used to communicate with it and any communication it did with others was usually by the point of a stake.

Group Two

There has been an increase in violent 'causes of death'. Some can be written off as savage animal maulings, others obviously professionally done executions. Either way, the number has been increasing rapidly over the past few weeks. Investigation into their origins reveals that apparently there has been a series of animal attacks on the lower rung members of society(homeless, criminals, etc) while the execution style killings are reserved mostly for school teachers, nurses, people of that bent.

Group Three

You find that Lucas mostly hunted on the most corrupt and sinister men and women the city had to offer. There are stories of an avenging angel who would come and bring the wrath of heaven down on the heads of those who were truly wicked. Though the number of 'truly wicked' individuals has apparently diminished as angel sightings have decreased. Some still report them, but not anywhere near as many as did before.

Okay.

We gather back together and compare notes.

- He's not in the morgue, but certain other people are. Half are perfect executions and half are animal maulings. Suggestions?

-We don't have a haven, but we can guess he was high up in the Lance and not likely to be dead. Why has he disappeared himself then?

-We know who he liked to hunt, but how does that compare to who he may be hunting now. Does anyone have insight into this change? Is there anything useful we can use to locate him.

-Well, this looks like its pressing on the Masquarade. It also looks like (pardon to the Lance) that Lucas has had a change of outlook (could be read as : gone nuts). What does that mean to us and our safety.

-The bad news (or is that worse news?) is that he has a buddy. Mabye we can better track this cipher? What is this guy going to do if he catches us tracking him? This should now be a worry.

We can't rule out the possibility that these unusual attacks are not kindred. They could be werewolves. Or something else.

I'm a little curious about the 'teachers, nurses and things like that' nature of the victims. Specifically, the 'things like that.' What is the unifying theme of the executions? All women? All mid level professionals? All health care and education?

Mid-level professionals whose jobs focus around the well being of their "subjects" be they children, the elderly, clinically depressed, how's that?

Were the professionals murdered in their homes, or somewhere else? If somewhere else, were the places in some proximity?

It looks like the team should get together, brainstorm out a hunting strategy and then comb through the area. I hate to split us up, but that seems the best way to cover the area.

How about Galiana, Sir Robyn, Larry Peat, and Angie in one group. Antione, Ashe, Rabbi Berg, and Adrian.

Our object is to locate Lucas and his bodyguard, call the other group over, and then see about contacting then. Maybe that will give Hyospeph less cause to kill us all.

Gang, should we investigate as to whether these morally upstanding people had a dark side. This could give us some insight into what he might be hunting.

The alternative is for some of us to stalk the homeless, looking for their killer (and not getting killed themselves).

Suggestions?
