Aberrant: No Fate - Table Talk: No Fate

Actually, I missed that, Fool. Sorry!

I have a question about the TV and pictures too. Is it widely known that Grey Goo is a shapeshifter? I suppose by Aberrant rules she has to have a 'natural' form, which is what they could be showing, but I figure she fairly regularly uses other shapes and appearances, even when she doesn't have to.

Grey's picture shows her in her Proto-Form - it's pretty vague but Grey is titled as known terat - as is Nosferatu. You're both marked as Nova Vigilance members of the Teragen Faction.

For all of you - there are "only" pictures - no profiles about your abilities. Only exception is Cherub whos life has been pretty much revealed completely by Utopia.

I do, but I always hear that Twelve Monkeys theme (you know, the part that is played with an accordion) when I read your posts which kinda freaks me out... but in a good way wink

Right now we only have 3 sets of people to take.

If Jack comes out we could do that in 2 trips.

If Nos is going to stay here then there is *no* benefit to having Jack out to teleport.

Of course one could make the argument that Nos should be hunting where there are actually people around.

Trust me...you do *not* want to see that one go down... laugh

Anyways, Im waiting to hear more arguments for Jack undorming or staying human. Whatever is more dramatically appropriate. I don't think Jack is afraid to undorm but he is definitely disoriented now and wary of losing his sense of free-will...

Well thats where we are going....

Buuuut. I was still waiting for more input from the others on if they think The Fool should come back. So far NOs is the only one who answered with 1 vote for Yea. I havent posted anything yet because Lily said she was going to reply so I have been being patient. smile

Bonus: If The Fool undorms he can take us to his Cipher 5 Sanctum...

SOrry about the delay on my end - weekend access and all (or lack of access)

I should note that none of you saw Callum/Malcolm teleport as he had run off before that and depending on where the police station was he may have been miles away by then (Joani can input on that)

So basically you all shouldn't be assuming I can teleport, last you saw I was running off into the ruins ...

Yes, he ran out of sight and disappeared.

Ok - I just gave it a little more thought. You'll make it in time without the Fool having to undorm. So we can keep his current state for RP-exploration and no one has to wait for the others. I'll be updating that part once I get a little more time at work to write something longer and more dramatic.

I hope that's ok with all.

You can all assume you've NEVER seen him undormed before. I think thats exactly the reason Sky was waiting for some more reaction to that change, since it's like night and day. But then the overall situation is a bit extreme which may be the reason for everyone to focus on that before taking care of Jack. I'll have you all port to Seans Haven in Paris, update that part, Jack can stay dormed and I can link Callum back to you all so he can rejoin you all.

I think it's worth pointing out too that Gray, at least...but I think this applies to most of us...doesn't -know- anyone on the team very well except Nosferatu. She's likely familiar with the technical stuff, and has basic job-related acquaintance status, but doesn't by any means have a real emotional connection to The Fool.

So his change is of interest to her, but I can't see her getting emotionally involved in it.

Thats not the point. The point was that I was sort of waiting for a reaction or an exploration. Regarding what you said about us not knowing each other, you would all know the Fool having a serious reputation for being the boogeyman. Now you see that under the mask he is human after all, but most importantly is that noone seems more surprised than he is. Was hoping for some interaction along those lines....or at least IC responses to his IC presence and questions.

Er...that last statement came out a bit harsh. Dont take it that way though. I am actually stating matter of factly. We can move the scene forward if thats what people want, but it would be nice to get some interpersonal reaction on his condition at some point here. smile

Actually now that Nos has declared that Jack *should* undorm, somebody else should say something, since Jack is taking this so seriously. Even if its somone just grabbing him and saying "dont worry about it" and teleporting him away...

Sorry dude. You made a good opening ploy, but the ST trumped you and hard. I.e. the timing is a bit off.

In the last 20 minutes 5 million or so people died, hundreds or thousands of which I personally knew. I also picked up 10 more nova points and 8 tenths of a point of taint. At the moment worrying about The Fool's mental status comes a distant place behind worrying about the hundreds of novas that are probably on the way right now to hand me my ass.

After I have some clue that I'm going to live longer than about 2 minutes I'll worry about side effects of the event, including your sanity.

Arr...I mean, I did have Grey express some interest. I don't know what you were expecting, really. In the midst of waking up in a nuclear blastzone of New York, one PC's mental breakdown is pretty small in comparison.

And I don't mean that to be belittling. Like I've been saying, patience is good right now. Give us time to get some resolution on the BIG problems before we turn our attention to the small ones. smile

A simple yes or no would do. smile Nos already put in one vote for yes.

And yes, I am aware of the timing and the situation.

I don't have enough information to judge that, at least IC. It's a bad thing when our leader asks that, and there are two many other things going on. If I were to respond to it I'd say something like "you'll have to judge for yourself", but at the moment Cherub is assuming someone else has more information, i.e. the question isn't addressed to him.

Just to clarify, I never thought of the Fool as team leader. hes more like the specialist. Good for tactical info, precognitive warning and the like. But he doesn't have command and doesn't issue orders in a leader way. More like he might say "Duck!" or "we need to move!" becasue he just saw something or his intuition went off.

Er, well it would be my choice to undorm or not. I haven't simply because I am still working with the idea of it...There needs to be more time to roleplay it to discover it and also because noone gave him a compelling enough reason to change back. If someone had responded to his question with a valid reason for needing the Fool he would probably do it.

I am thinking the shock will wear off soon and he will come to terms with the idea of transformation. In time, I he may even be able to come to grips with the shift in perceptions.

I just wanted to say that my post was written without you having undormed to help with the teleports. You can dorm/undorm anytime you feel to. For the moment you haven't. That's all I wanted to point out. Since I didn't write anything explicitly about Jack you could've undormed and helped with the teleport - that's up to you of course.

Sometimes you just gotta go with the game, and sometimes you gotta make your own chances to RP. Sure I could have stuck around and let a socially inept Terat (no offence Lily) try and console me but Malcolm wasn't exactly in the mood and the fact that (whether intentionally or not) Grey referred to Malcolm "son" just further showed how little these people know him. Once he knew this was NY, well he had to find out if his dad was ok.

I'm sure that if you are still dormed when Malcolm rejoins the group he'll have more than a few comments/questions but as the others pointed out, the revelation was just poorly timed with a terrorist act of unprecedented scale.

All I can say is that if you want people to RP with you, you need to account for what those characters would react to with priority - that is the destruction of one of the world's largest cities.
