[Fiction] Symmetry - A Koan

Recommended Posts

Kevin Rong sat quietly attentive in the church. All around him were calls of "Amen" and "Alleluia" as the preacher talked about hellfire, the servants of the devil, and novas. As he sat and listened quietly, several of the more curious and more intelligent people in the church wondered what a chinese man was doing in a church composed entirely of white southern locals.

After the sermon, as Kevin was quietly filing out of the church, three less-than-pleasant men approached him. The leader asked, "Why did you come to our church, boy?"

Kevin answered, "I was listening for the word of god."

The Michaelites were not enlightened.
