Gladiators of the Quantum age, X-treme Warfare Federation shootfighters take recreational combat into the extreme zone of skin-ripping, blood-boiling, bone -crushing physical trauma. When claws, fire bolts and Mega-Strength come into play in the ring, the stakes go up. Way up. And when the stakes are this high, something's gotta give!

Aberrant: XWF contains everything you need to know to be one of the heroes — or villains — of the Quantum combat ring. Pit your character against the demented Count Dragonuv, Christine "The Terminatrix" Jesensky and the other world-class badasses on the nova fight circuit. Learn about the nervous sponsors, the obsessed viewers and the unstable masterminds behind it all. But be warned, the XWF is not for wimps.

I like to think of myself as an avant-garde, upper class kind of fellow. Sure I have hobbies like role-playing and comics, but on the whole I think of myself as eminently civilized and refined. As I'm sure you all do as well. We're RPG enthusiasts, as intellectual a pastime as you're likely to encounter. We're so above the vacuous and Neanderthal interest of the common rabble it's hardly even a trifle amusing. Which is--of course--complete crap, sometimes we love that which we know we shouldn't on an intellectual level. So without further ado, we come to Aberrant: XWF. . .LET'S GET READY TO RUMMMMBLLLLEEEEEE!!!

Novas have powers and abilities far beyond those of mortal men. They can run faster, jump higher, and punch harder than even the most talented and trained human competitors. Therefore it was inevitable that novas would come to conquer the world of sport as easily as they had the world of public opinion. Sport, and sports entertainment. Enter B. B. Bartlet, a Houston-born millionaire, who purchased the dying World Wrestling Federation from the MacMahon family and converted it into the nova fighting arena of the 21st century. The Xtreme Warfare Federation is the pinnacle of nova-related pop culture entertainment, where eager spectators pay top dollar for the privilege of witnessing two quantum-powered paragons slugging it out nova style. From energy bolts to flying above the crowds to just plain pummelling, the XWF delivers the general public's urge to see novas do what they do best: fight. From the antics of Rob "Superbeast" Steele, through the ranks to the champion Duke "Core" Baron himself, the XWF sells out to capacity crowds across the globe, and their pay per view spectaculars on the N! network rake in top dollar. Yeah, novas have made the world a cleaner and better place for all mankind, but Baron's "Core Meltdown" is just so kewl.

Aberrant: XWF gives it's readers a look at one of the most popular (and most reviled) forms of nova-related entertainment. At a mere 24 pages it's a slim read of source material and setting in the Aberrant world. The Xtreme Warfare Federation is not a faction in the game of Aberrant conspiracies and organizations, instead it is exactly what it appears to be: novas using their powers to pound each other and make money. As in the professional wrestling of the pre-1998 world, some matches are scripted, but when two quantum-enhanced beings and their egos are placed together in a ring something has to give. Written by Robert Hatch and illustrated by Steve Prescott, the book is a springboard for ideas to bring your characters into contact with the bizarre world of nova shoot fighting. It's also something of a jab at the pro-wrestling craze that inspired it, and for closet fans of pro-wrestling (present company included) there are moments when you might see something of yourself amidst the madness of Monday Mega Massacre!
