Perhaps we should do a poll or maybe a roll call just to get an idea of the numbers.

I'm trying really hard to play a non-Terat transhumanist. I started V as a firm believer in the Zurich Accord back in 2001 and have been slowly developing her growing feelings that she isn't like normal people any longer.

I mentioned how she feels pretty conflicted over this in the contest story I wrote for her a few months ago, you know, that she doesn't believe in the Zurich Accord any longer but still believes in many of the other ideals that Project Utopia stands for.

I think there are good stories to be told for someone who has that kind of conflict, and who wouldn't shack up with the Teragen for the "utopia bad!" reasons that many other Novas do.

Hopefully I'm doing an okay job at this.

'What is a human being, then?'

'A seed.'

'A... seed?'

'An acorn that is unafraid to destroy itself in growing into a tree'

David Zindell, The Broken God

Transhumanism is a philosophy that humanity can, and should, strive to higher levels, both physically, mentally and socially. It encourages research into any area that seems capable of fundamentally altering the human condition. Terats are actively exploring their personal potential through quantum in the belief there is something more than being simply human ergo they are following a transhuman philosophy in seeking to become more than what 'human' is.

It doesn't read as a blue print to transhuman thought but the word is used in the book and the idea is the same. The philosophy of teras and the archetypes they use are meant to help them in seeing themselves in other than 'human' terms.
