:This thread is for the discussion of a fiction that has yet to be written or named. Be on the look out. When it's made I'll edit the name of the post at the bottom of this entry.:

I'm almost ready. I was thinking of doing a 2-4 post recap of the battle from Ty/Conduits perspective. Then a couple of posts regarding the psychic connection. And a few about the physical rescue.

Ty-PM me so I can confer with you about the background.

Samhra-do you want to be the psychic that finds Conduits mind? If yes, I'll PM you when I'm ready. Maybe you could post on the IC Forum to call out for a rescue.

edit: The name of the fiction is MIA. Because I'm lazy like that.

I'm still waiting on Typhoon. I'm going to give him another few days. I've written what I want to say in the initial posts for the background of the fiction. But I'm sure Ty wants to be there for the rescue.

I did some light research on where I want Conduit to end up. I'll release that when things are under way. I don't want to confuse people when things are suppose to start.

I agree with you E, that putting the call for help on the OpNet forum will lead to confusion. Perhaps it can be done on one of the Live Journals. Either Endeavors or Samhras. It would have a date stamp in the Title and it only needs to be one post. Just a thought.

Two things

1)Conduit is in the Southern Part of the Nankai Trough. It's just north of Tokyo.

2)My computer went stupid last night. I had to do a total reinstall. While reinstalling my firewall, Graphics drivers, and games I had some serious issues. This morning went much better, although I did delete 1 year of independent study work that my girlfriend had on there shocked . So it seems that things are ok, but if I am slow on posting, you know.

Yeah, I've been thinking about doing the same. This summer I was going to network my computer and her computer, so that she could use the printer and get on the internet from her side. Maybe I'll set up an external while I'm at it.

She does have a hardcopy and a floppy copy, but I don't know how up to date those are. They should be current. Luckily she's working on the other side of the state, about 6 hours away. So she can't kill me for another month.

I lost a bunch of stuff too. Most of it I'm not so concerned about. I did this microwear study last semester and the only digital copy of the microphotographs were deleted too. Not that big of a deal, but it is something I would have liked to keep, just in case. I was just too lazy to put it on a CD.

Eh, it happens.

1: Is this out in the ocean, or is it within the island (as in it being inland).

2: Damn, that's rough. >_<

1:It is in the ocean. The Japan trench runs along the west coast of...well Japan. Nankai Trough is the northern portion of it. It runs roughly from Tokyo to Hokkaido Island. North of that is the Kuril Trench which rides along the, not surprisingly, Kuril Islands and over to Kamchatka. From Tokyo the Japan Trench runs south to the Mariana Trench. From Taiwan to the southern tip of Honshu is the Ryukyu Trench. If you look at a map of the Northwestern Pacific, imagine a humaniod body. Sahkalin Island is the head, the Kuril Islands are the arm, Honshu the body, the Japan-Mariana Trenches and Ryukyu trenche are the legs.

Basically the Pacific plate is subducting into the Phillipine Sea plate. This forces the Phillipine Sea plate to subduct below Eurasia. Giving Japan all is wonderful earthquakes.

Long-I've been thinking about that. I've been considering having Conduit develop new powers. This would work with ideas I had about bringing up his past in this fiction. The general thought was, Conduit has had several blackouts during his Nova life. Each time, his abilities have increased along with his coppery..ness. Maybe while he was down there he developed a psychic shield or was so broken and low on juice he was under the radar. I don't have my book in front of me and probably won't be able to make an absolute until I can look through it after work* or tomorrow morning.

As to why he couldn't be found using Endeavors many scanner? It's a very volcanic/tectonic area. Maybe where he landed is in some sort of nexus for disturbance.

Those are my thoughts for now. Any input would be cool. We could brainstorm, shift the paradigm, step out of the box, push the envelope, etc.

Endeavor-I can't find a definite on how deep this thing goes, but I found some info written by oil companies talking about drilling to 3km below sea level. They indicate that the sea bed starts at 1-1.5km below sea level in this area. This sounds like a good figure to me.

*just a side note. After work I'm going to get my hair cut. I've been growing my hair out for years, so today I'll be cutting about three feet of it off. Should be interesting.

No problems there. Endeavor's scanner drones can go that far, and she did equip them for such a retrieval. After all, at a point she was thinking of this as a retrieval mission, not a rescue operation...

I'll go into detail of what sort of equipment she has as the story and situation develops. Just so you know, Endeavor's drones are spreading out faster, looking for you along possible drift-routes from the battle site. Now that she knows you're alright, she's really kicking up the search, but I won't really know unless you tell Samhra that you see one of my little drones passing by.

I would assume having Adaptation would prevent such things. So if Conduit and You both have it, then things would be good. If that is what happens, I'll still have a couple drones follow along.

I'll have to dive the ship though, I'm still not really welcome in Japan, so as long as I keep a low profile I'm alright. I'll pick you guys up at a reasonible depth, then zip back to international waters to surface.

Because Conduit is 100% copper, I don't think it's possible for him to suffer from the bends. That being said, he does have Adaptability so he has that going for him too.

Endeavor-I'll have Conduit mention that he senses one of your drones, when appropriate. If Samhra mentions to him that they are out there, he will make a concentrated effort to do it.
