Marshal 'Heavy Metal' King
Okay, folks. Let's start hearing about combinations of powers... from the lame to the devastating, I want it all. Share with us your kewl powerz and stupid nova tricks. To get the ball rolling, I am thinking about having an NPC in my game with Clone, Density Decrease, and Parasitic Possesion. Just think of the possibilities...
Jager
Sorry, not my interest or expertise in the game. It should be funny (and horrifying) to see what things others come up with, though.
Hugin
Well this isn't some kewl kombo, but it was fun to describe. One of the characters, DreamBoi, was utterly convinced that this was all a dream. None of it was real and his resistence to injury reflected that in a weird way. He had MegaStamina 5 with ResistenceX2 and Forcefield. But, whenver he got hit you would see exactly what would have happened should a baseline have suffered the blow. The, a half second later it would be 'unmade', and he'd be standing there unharmed.I had one Elite Patrick 'American Psycho' Batemen (yes, yes, I know. I should be ashamed.) actually throw up his hands and walk away from the fight in frustration.
Fearless
Teleport and Holo could be devastating if you're fast enough to make the illusions look like they teleport away. Maybe add clone and/or invisibility too.
Jager
Shroud and Warp, perhaps? One of my nastiest has been the Density Decreased 5 with psychic powers (Telepathy, Emotion Control, and the like). Add some impressive Mental and quantum defenses, and it becomes a thing of horror.I also once had a Terat that breathed taint. Not alot, but just picking up 5 or 6 points of temporary taint can freak out a nova.
Kirby1024
One of the players in my current game made one of the most serendipitous decisions early in game.He stated that his Invisibility and Teleport looked exactly the same. He also made sure that noone knew about his Invisibility. As such, when he was locked in a Vitrium cage in a Directive facility, with Teleport Suppression systems set up, the guards were caught rather off guard when their prisoner suddenly vanished on them. He didn't even have to bother with attacking anyone, he just waited until they opened the cell to see what on earth was happening. Then he slipped out... Grayson Windsor
I once wore stripes with plad and Caestus Pax got so offended that he gave me involuntary anal with a Buick Skylark. That's about my extent with mixing stuff.

Sakurako Hino
This is a little maneuver I have been saving up for JUST that right moment.Mega Dex high speed, one handed head grab + Point Blank Q.Bolt using the hand doing the grabbing. Can you say, OWCH? Pretty amazing since your jaw is out of allignment and every nasal passage and sinus has been fractured. My initial name for this special maneuver: The Cherry Blossom Storm Dash.Yes, I play too much Street Fighter. >.< this hand of mine glows with an awesome power, it's shining light guides my hand to victory!!!CHERRY BLOSSOM...STORM... dash!!! Cody
I just finished putting Cody's stats up (and what a pain to transpose all of that to these little edit windows!). It's not a monster but the character sheet includes his Transmutation power if your interested.
Jager
I looked and put up some questions and opinions. Do you play with this character or is he just for here?
Cody
I played something similar to this quite a while back but the character was completely different and the special effect wasn't identical. The concept of Cody was designed for here but I still get to play once in a blue moon. Usually only one-on-one or with one other player but nowadays I take what I can get...
Walker
How about Clone and Mathematical Savant? If you had a really, really complex maths problem you could clone yourself and do the nova equivalent of parallel processing.I've seen Poison and Quantum Vampire - Stamina used to very nasty effect and it occurs to me that Mega Dex and Quantum Imprint could allow all sorts of mayhem. Add all four together and you'd have something very nasty.
Cody
Disorient followed by any of a number of attacks. Each success on the Disorient reduces the targets dice pools by one and when you get it to half they can't even use a dice pool without spending a point of will power. Fearless
Holo- touch linked to Disorient could be fun. Look'em right in the eye and say "Pain or pleasure?"Or even just thinking up imaginative senses for holo like sense of humor, or balance, or time. 'This test is taking forever!!' Walker
One of my players the other day came up with a paramedic who erupted with both Disintergrate and Healing. It's not really a killer combo but the fact that the two powers are so distinct and taking into consideration the inital job, I see many interesting potential moral dilemmas for that character. Centipede
Shroud (affecting Intuition and Premonition) is excellent for surprising the players. Not too often of course but a recurring bad guy working (behind the scene) with different other enemies of the players could get away with it again and again.I know my players would hate such a nova. David 'Dr. Troll' Smith
Shroud is over rated because it is a concentration power. That -2 succ to all actions is just a killer. Yes, you also inflict it on others (blind), but my XWF experience wasn't outstanding.Clone is very much underrated.Clone + M-Str 5.Clone + Q-Leech + Ranged (ouch, no pool)Clone + Anything that hits below the belt (Mind Blast, Agg)Clone + Shroud (clones share the same q-sig, and are immune to each others powers)----------------------------------------5 M-Per (vision) + M-Stam(Adapt) + Teleport + Q-Bolt+ExRange + Q5.This one is expensive, but you basically turn yourself into an orbital laser. Or you could even attack from the moon.
T-dev
One that is prety obviuos but that I love so much is Mental Blast & Channeling Telepathy.
Brucifer
dr. troll - do you mean a "moon" with a "laser"?next itll be frickin baselines with frickin lasers on their frickin heads....
David 'Dr. Troll' Smith
I mean you teleport to the moon and then zap people on the Earth with your Q bolt. Even if they figure out where the bolt is coming from, what exactly can they do about it?
Bastian
Dodge, Power Block, Teleport out of the way?
Deeth
Actually, Doc, not sure that would work as the moon would need to have LOS on the target. Could get around it with warp though
Cody
Deeth,- Telescopic enhancement.- ESP.- Telepathic link with a spotter on the ground.Doing it isn't nearly as hard as coming up with a decent eruption story to account for the abilities and the desire to do it.... Indigo Smith
one of my favorite characters was a shapeshifter that could use quantum bolts. basiclly he chnaged parts of his tissue into reactive chimicals. fire bolt, electricity, sopines. he takes damage from consuming part of his tissue but with high enough mega stamina it heals pretty quick, and it is a nasty surprise. Dr. Zero
Ok so this one is a bit far fetched but would make a badass and interesting NPCAberration: Permanant Power - Immolate (seems a likely choice for a permanant power)Abberation TransferDisimmunize He would cause other people to burn to death on their own energies
Charlie
Disorient & Domination - You reduce the Willpower Dice pool to less than half so that there is no resistance to your Domination.
Charlie
How about Holo and Warp. They don't see the warp so they move right through it. Might get those Mega-Dex characters as well.
Charlie
4 Dots Mega-Intelligence (so that you reduce the difficulty to 0 on any rolls)with Analyze Weakness 4 times. You spend 7 of the remaining Nova points to Max your Attributes out. Spend 2 Nova points to Max out a few skills. Spend 14 of your Freebie points for 2 more Dots of Quantum. Now you can do one of 2 things, either you have Analyze Weakness 2 times for no Quantum cost and you roll 10 dice (4 successes average) or 20 dice (8 successes average) to add to any dice pool. Imagine throwing in the 4 dots of Mega-Intelligence thrown into the foray?16 dice Mega, 20 dice normal (12 + 8 successes) 20 successes to add to a normal 10 dice pool, which would give you 12 total successes. This would give the equivelent of the Mega-Martial Artist that can break a Bank vault open with one blow, but is still human in his strength. Charlie
How about 5 Dots Luck and 5 Dots Entropy Control - you could really give someone Bad Luck with that. Then imagine if you Maxed the power...ouch
