Marshal 'Heavy Metal' King
Hello all. I am looking for a system of rules to govern what happens when a super-fast / super-tough nova comes crashing into the ground. Think about it. Let's say our nova weighs 500 lbs. Big guy. Maybe some density increase. Lots of soak. Lots of hypermovement. Lots of mega-strength. In theory, this guy slamming into the ground would be like a meteor hitting the ground. So, my question to you all, is how much devastation would it cause? Is there a system of rules for it? Perhaps a variation of hyperspeed slam? For inspiration, check out The Authority / Planetary crossover where Apollo slams into the ground to nuclear proportions. MrDaniel
The falling damage has terminal velocity capped at 10d10L - which is nothing to several novas I have on my roster. It sounds like GM discretion / house rule time. Perhaps a Hyperspeed Slam with the Area or Explosion rules applied?
Grayson Windsor
You sure spend time thinking up silly stuff.

Kirby1024
The other thing is that only half your soak can be used to reduce damage from falling.I actually had this problem with a guy who wanted to be a human cannonball. He'd jump off a tall building, Turn on the Density Increase, Fall, then activate Bounce as he hit the guy below him.Needless to say, he didn't last that long. Bounce doesn't convert all of your damage, just some. Still, got to whack a few people before he ended up in Intensive Care...
Vixen
I think that the Shockwave enhancement for Mega-Strength, with a couple of extra numbers pulled in from other sources - subbing dots in Density Increase or Hyperflight for Mega-Strength - would do a good job of simulating the shockwave of the impact.
