Kirby1024
Here's a question to all of you - How would you like to have an archive, seperate from the site, where you could get all the Fictional stories that have gone through the OpNet board, in PDF form? I already have "On Wizards Watch" PDFised, I'm working on "Acts Of Compassion" (it is OK if I do that Wiz, right?), and I'd be willing to do "The Burning Times" and "Mysteries and Intuition" once the storylines have ended.I'd probably do these for personal benefit anyway, but if people want, I'd be perfectly willing to post them up on a website for others to enjoy. On the other hand, if others really don't want me doing this, I'm willing to hold my hand. So, anyone?
Wizard
Kirby you are a wonderful person and I am very flattered that anyone would want to save one of my stories. You are more than welcome to use that story with the usual provisos that no one make any profit from its sale or distribution, and I receive credit as author. Thanks for making my day. The Ranger
Fire away Kirby, sounds like a great idea.
Argent_
Most definitely, Kirby. I think a lot of people´d appreciate the work that you have, and will, put down into this. I know that I do.Ahh; this is what I´m talking about on all those heated debates with my friends over a cup of crappy coffee; the atmosphere among dedicated fans (RPG fans, in this case), where people are willng to put a lot of their time into something purely out of love for the material and the willingness to share.Did I say "thank you, Kirby"? ...no?Thank you, Kirby. Jordan
Yes Kirb, I too say thanks. I'm glad people enjoy the effort enough to want to preserve it. It does make things easier to read though, doesn't it?
Kirby1024
Well, that settles it! Since I managed to get my Tripod account back (it got wiped a while back, I just finished moving everything back) you can find the PDF file of On Wizard's Watch at: http://kirby1024.tripod.com/rpgaming/owwatch.pdf Just so you know, it's a 368KB download, which incidentally is slightly smaller than the two OWW pages put together. It is, however, 130 pages long. That's short novel length I reckon...Hopefully there will be a full page there soon, which will include other Aeon stuff that I've done.Oh, Chosen, is it possible to access the Opnet Board Archives still? I remember reading a thread that sort of turned into a story when we still had Forum v1. (which I henceforth refer to as the Egypt Incident) If I recall, it was probably the first Collaborative Fiction piece on the Opnet Board, and it'd be great to archive that as well. Kirby1024
Oh wait, never mind. I just figured out that I can just go through all the Opnet Subjects manually (ie via URL) till I find the one I want. I'll find it eventually... Argent_
Er... I can´t seem to be able to download it.
Kirby1024
Bah! I hate it when it does that. It seems that Tripod's got some software that won't let you download files unless you got to them from a Tripod website. Don't worry, I'll have it fixed for you by tonight, and I'll have a page set up so you can see the others I've PDFised.
Kirby1024
OK, got a temp page up there now, Go through that page and you should have no troubles: http://kirby1024.tripod.com/rpgaming/nparchives.html The Egyptian Incident and Acts of Compassion are up now as well, and as requested, I have placed a list of contributers (if you'd prefer I put your real name up instead of your handle, e-mail me (kirby1024@hotmail.com) with the name you'd like to be credited with.) Wizard
It's that damned Praetorian. Posing little git just doesn't want the world to know he got his head handed to him by a professional warrior.

Wizard
A reference to an event that takes place in the story near the end. An unbelievably powerful git named Praetorian essentially tells Jager to take his best shot. He is somewhat surprised to find out that Jager's best shot is pretty darn good.[ 12-18-2001: Message edited by: Wizard ]
Kirby1024
Yeah, Argent, I don't understand why you can't access it, I just checked then, it seems to be working quite fine. Try clicking the link instead of going to Save As, see if that solves the problem. It does work though, honest.
Wizard
Just checked and it worked for me also. It's a pretty big file and takes a little time before you get all of it. Took me about two minutes to load it.
Argent_
I should´ve gotten that, Wiz. Thank you for explaining things real slow-like to this ol´ loser, anyway.(But honestly; I´m five hours of sleep between typing this and watching LoTR this night. Nothing can tick me off. God, it was beautiful.)I´ll try again, shall I?
Matt
I am glad to head that I'm not the only person that's exhausted from watching LoTR last night.
Argent_
Exhausted, but in a good way; like the morning after the night well spent with a trio of supermodels.
