Vignettes is a new forum, specifically for very-short stories, and non-narrative pieces. Anyone can post such a thing on the thread, subject to the guidelines below:

1. 1 Post per story, and vice versa. Each post should contain a single, finished story. No multi-parters (create a seperate thread for that). This doesn't mean you can't create a story that references another story you created on the thread. Just make sure that both are stories in their own right. Also, try to keep it short if you can. (If you're using MS Word, about 2 pages at 10-point font is a reasonable limit)

2. Stories that advance the Opnet Board Metaplot are perfectly acceptable (as long as guideline 1 is followed). Feel free to "Drop Hints", or place background setting to another story you're writing that doesn't necessarily fit in the original story.

3. We Welcome First-Time Writers. This is the perfect place to wet your feet, so to speak. If you want to try your hand at some good ol' narrative, or have an interesting idea you'd like to throw out to the meta-plot, feel free to do so. Also, if you want to have a bit of information about a new character common knowledge, Vignettes is a great place to "Prologue" your character.
