Guest
Dear Abbie,I just erupted a few months ago, and I'm not sure that I can handle the pressure. Suddenly I can fly and bend gravity to my whim, I have Utopian and DeVries recruiters harassing me daily, and, not to sound vastly paranoid, I think that the same gray sedan has followed me to campus everyday for the last week. All of my friends are after me to introduce them to the "good looking people", and my girlfriend won't stop begging me to show off my newfound powers for her friends. I just want to graduate and maybe start a small Italian restaurant. How do I get everyone to treat me like a normal person and how can I politely tell the various powers-that-be that I don't think I'm cut out to save the world? - Confused in College
Abbie
Dear Confused in College,For the powers-that-be, ignore them, eventually they will get the message. See a lawyer if that doesn't work .For everyone else, I get the feeling this hasn't sunk in just yet. Your life has changed. You aren't a normal person anymore. Like it or not, you are now a celebrity, and have been handed a great deal of success on a platter. Don't let it go to your head. You don't need to go off and fight in wars or explore space, but you do need to realize the attention isn't going away any time soon. The good news is this your restaurant may become an instant hot-spot. Other novas may stop in, and baselines will to see or be served by a nova. The bad news is if you do a bad job with your restaurant it will be public knowledge very quickly.-Abby
