"Sounds good." Genevieve said as she began walking with her brother.

< Yeah. They are out of their bloody minds if they think we are gonna just barge into a node that the werewolves seem to have not only claimed, but possibly moved to boot. If things go south, hopefully we can at least come in respectfully and talk down the werewolves. If any of us can talk down a werewolf, it's you and I. > she said to her brother through their mental link, giving him a grin and a wink.

< This node is just another mark. So let's takes some time to case it. > she added.

Genevieve and her brother were quite experienced at things such as this. Inconspicuously watching a place for a length of time to see who comes and goes, who the regulars are, if there were any patterns, what security there was and the like.

Though she had gotten used to her height - mostly - Kaitlin never felt so oversized as when she was around only women, being near a foot taller and around eighty pounds heavier than the average female. She was going to say something to the girls - mark of death or whatever or not - when the fine hairs on the back of her neck stood up and she whipped her head around with startling speed, chestnut hair flaring out in halo for a moment.

The tall black man by the brick building - as tall as her, or maybe a shade taller - was undoubtedly looking at her. It wasn't a look of admiration or lust, or at least, not only that, it was too intent an gaze to only be that. She had never seen him before. But considering what she was guessing were Werewolf sign and what Cheshire had mentioned about the college girls, she didn't he was just guy scoping out the hard-bodied babe.

Making no effort to conceal her own gaze, Kaitlin narrowed her amber eyes as she inhaled through her nose, her tank top stretching tautly. She held the breath for a precise moment then released it through slightly parted lips as she shifted her perception to look upon the truth of things, upon their auras.

At first, she could only see a fuzzy, colourless haze about the black man, similar to heat shimmer. Then she had to stifle a gasp as a corona of intense and vibrant primary colours bloomed around him, predominantly red, threaded through with swirls of blue and yellow. Kaitlin coughed discretely to get Triessa and Cheshire's attention.

"If you want to talk to a werewolf, girls," Kaitlin muttered through tight lips, "there's one right there." She caught their eyes with her own and directed them to the man standing by the brick building. "Lotta red in his aura, but with the blue and yellow, don't think it's anger and it ain't dark enough to be fury. I'd say he's... full of purpose, passion."

Kaitlin glanced down at Triessa and Cheshire without lessening any attention towards the black man and likely werewolf. "If we're gonna talk, let's talk and see if they think we're trespassing and if they claimed the node."

Suiting action to words, Kaitlin began walking purposefully towards the man with sure, strong strides, her goal quite clear to the observant twins.

Terrance watched the women from the shade he had seen them peel off from the three guys and the two who were obviously brother and sister and seemed to have that Ultimate's Maximof vibe going on. The spirits had pointed them out in their weird way and to be honest he wished some of the others had been around cause he really didn't have a clue what they were trying to tell him. The men and the siblings moved on into the Cemetery grounds while the three hot chicks moved toward the three collage girls who were being silly unobservant collage kids. He wished he could hear what they were saying.

The collage kids were moving on and the tall chick with the other three spotted him. She was built like an Olympic athlete and now that he saw her face didn't even look as old as the collage kid. Shit she was coming this way while the other two went after the collage kids toward the streetcar stop.

Kaitlin was half way to the black guy when she realized she was alone. A glance showed that Triessa and Cheshire were already across the street jogging to catch the Streetcar before it and the girls Cheshire was worried about got away. She looked back at the black guy and saw that he had noticed her and stepped out of the shadows heavily muscled and tattooed arms crossed a smile curving his lips. The way he was watching her was decidedly not innocent.

< Hmm. Something going on. > Genevieve thought to her brother, tilting a head ever so slightly toward Kaitlin who had now split off from the girls.

< It's a bad idea to go anywhere alone around here. We'd best get over there in case this all goes to hell. > she added, as she and her brother began to move over toward Kaitlin.

"Is this okay?" Triessa asked as she and Cheshire tried to keep up with the murderees-to-be. "We're leaving Kaitlyn alone with...with a werewolf. I mean, I want to help these girls too, but Kaitlyn might be in a lot of trouble, right?"

Terrence's eyes dart a look past the tall girl at the twins approaching, he turns slightly.

Kaitlin sees the move for what it is, a change of stance positioning his body for action. From this new position he could go into either a defensive stance or an attacking stance. She doesn't recognize the style at least not yet but he has some training she notes. She senses her companions, the twins she thinks, coming up behind her.

Cade makes his way back to Cross and shakes his head.  "The Magic's here, but there's nothing connecting it, anywhere.   Do you think They could have awakened whatever spirit was there and harnessed it for another purpose?"

He had some knowledge of spirits, but he was far from a master of it. He was prepared to performsome familiar and helpful rotes, but wanted to see if the others had any ideas before jumping to magic.

The cadence of footsteps behind her are ones Kaitlin knows and a quick glance over her shoulder confirms that they belong to the twins rather than Cheshire and Triessa, who are hustling towards the college girls and the streetcar. She gives the DuFresnes a nod before returning her amber eyes back on the black man.

Hopefully, Cheshire and Triessa can handle any trouble they might run into and my own confrontation doesn't... er, escalate.

Despite his powerful build and not-purely-admiring scrutiny, Kaitlin notes his poised stance that could shift between attack and defense in an instant and tries to make her approach as guileless and nonthreatening as possible, her arms loose and relaxed at her sides, with imperfect success. While Terrence can see how young she is and that she has very pleasant curves, she is very tall for a woman with an impressively athletic physique and moves with the unmistakable grace of a predator and trained martial artist.

Kaitlin stops a discrete and precise distance from the black man, so they were clearly out of immediate reach of other. She adopts a casual rather than martial posture, a fist on a cocked hip as they mutually regard each other in silence and Kaitlin gives Genevieve and Jeacques a few more moments to get closer.

"So, man, no offense meant or anything," Kaitlin drawls in a direct, almost blunt, if not disrespectful tone. "Are we trespassing on territory claimed by others?"

Terrance's brow furrows, what the fuck, he inhales  taking in their scent. Soap, perfume, beer, nothing else. They smell and look human so how do they know if not suspect. Shit I wish Nomi were here. he thinks all this in less than a second. As nervous as he is right now and out numbered, he keeps his cool.

"You ain' from aroun' her', no? You sho' talk funny. Look nice tho', How old you Sha?

<.........> It was rare that someone was able to leave the Twins speechless, particularly in their own heads, but the silence ringing across the bond was full of incredulity, at least on Jeacques side.

<That's one way to open talks, I suppose.> Taking a cue from Kaitlin, he leans against a Lamp post, hands shoved into his pockets, posture carefully casual. <Really wish we could have waited to plan this out a bit better. Do not think we are ready to butt heads with damn Werewolves.> He nods at Terrence, an almost silent "Yo" escaping.

It was all about making the group seem less intimidating. They already outnumbered him, so would have to work carefully to not come over as agressive. He raises an eyebrow at Genevieve. <Can we bring Kaitlin in, for now? If this is as to the point as she's gonna be, we may wanna coach her through it. Last thing we want is "This ours. GTFO". On either side>

Cheshire boarded the trolley and took up seats a bit away from the girls; her own half-breed nature slipped her from the minds of her new charges within seconds. While the trolley trundled through the streets, Cheshire caught the stray strands of spiritual is-ness that people let flutter around them as they went about their lives, weaving together braids of coincidence and importance to tie herself to the trio, at least for the day. Red-eyed Death rarely took much time to find it's quarry, in Cheshire's experience.

She hummed softly to herself, a tree-song Taistealai had been teaching her. The difference between human vocal chords and resonating wood chambers made it a challenge, but the young mage enjoyed the difficulty. Seeing Taistealai snickering when she misprounounced the lyrics was enough to leave Cheshire smiling for an entire morning. I wonder how long until someone tries to murder them. I hope it is soon; the others seemed intent on reconnecting all of the ley lines today.

Kaitlin's brows crinkled as she tried to parse the guy's words. She's been in New Orleans for some time at least, but some people had thicker accents than others, to the point that is almost sounded like a different language to her ears. When her internal translation program deciphered his words, she smirked, cocking her hip to the other side as she shifted her weight.

"And people here think I sound funny," she bantered, giving him her own once over. "You ain't too bad yourself, man. Yeah, just moved to the Big Easy from Wyoming. That obvious, huh?" She arched a brow, but her grin widened. "And no worries, I turned eighteen a few weeks back. Totally legal."

Yeah, she was seeing Pascal, but Kaitlin wouldn't exactly say they were boyfriend and girlfriend. Besides which, didn't mean she wasn't allowed to look and flirt, and it that was better than throwing down. He didn't seem in danger of lashing out yet, though there were threads of uncertain gray weaving through the blue in his aura.

She nodded over his shoulder at the graffiti on the wall behind him, her eyes directed at one section in particular. "That you and your... pack... gang, whatever?"

Aja focused on the knot of magick at the center, and realized he was seeing something very bizarre. "It's pooling. Not moving anywhere, because it isn't even truly here. No Tass forming... like all we're getting is a reflection, not the actual energies. Could well be what you suggest, Cade." Aja didn't really deal with spirits well. He dealt with physical, informational and human realities not these... things.

The three male mages stood in different parts of the central memorial.

Cross stood before the monument itself lost in the memory of the real storm that ripped trough New Orleans that night and the subsequent days.

Aja had stopped at the foot of the path while the other two had gone forward he had opened his sense to the flows of power his focus was on what he understood, the raw power of magick, and while he could sense it he couldn't fathom what he was truly seeing. A node of this size and power should have been pouring magic into the surroundings at a prodigious rate creating tass in some form or other, but there was nothing.

Cade walked around the memorial something tickling his memory but being elusive. He too could see the font of power but his insight was a tad deeper. His work had brought him into contact with spirts and the other worlds beyond. While he had never traveled through what was called the gauntlet he knew of its existence. Normally it was so powerful it had no manifestation and could not be seen, and inversely, the weaker it was the more apparent it became. He could sense it now thin and weak, and he could see that the magick of this places collected on the otherside.

As the three mages took a few minutes to observe and collect their thoughts none of them noticed the darkening of the sky as clouds started to roll in indicating a gathering storm.

Meanwhile outside the cemetery by the old building.

Terrance sort of relaxed he still wished he had some back up but the foxy chicks flirting could not be mistaken. And she wasn't garou so it would be safe to tap it if he could.

While Terrance was thinking about those long legs and pert breasts, Kaitlin was admiring his well muscled form and, for her, exotic good looks, she felt a tickling in her head, as if she were being greeted by a thought that wasn't hers. She had a sudden sense of Genevieve in her mind.

Genevieve worked her magick and sent a thought to Kaitlin inviting the other young woman to join her and Jacques in a mental threeway.

As Kaitlin received the mental invitation She also became aware of a familiar smell. It swept over her and around then vanished reminding her of home and the mountains and her special place and...her lupine playmate?

Aboard the cemeteries streetcar

The three young woman had taken a seat near the front and hadn't seemed to notice Cheshire and Triessa boarding the train car after them. Triessa sat next to Cheshire who seems oblivious to her presence as she hummed a little tune. Triessa had always like riding trains of course they had been real ones and she had ridden them hobo style meaning illegally still it was and exciting way to see the country. This was her first time on an open car in a city and it was fascinating.

The ride took about thirty minutes to get to where the girls got off. The had crossed a very long distance and were now in the French quarter a place both mages was familiar with and fond of. The followed the three women from the train as they went a short distance up Charter st making the block and entering the Marriott Hotel

Spoiler

Time at the end of this post for everyone except Cheshire and Triessa is 3:30pm for those two it is 4:00pm

at the cemetery the sky is getting cloudy like it is going to rain it does not look like threatening or severe weather just a summer thunder storm rolling in in the afternoon. Traffic up and down Canal street is still heavy but foot traffic is almost non existant now. In the memorial area only cade cross and aja and one cemetery groundskeeper weedeating along the fence line about 15-20 yards from the memorial. Outside the fence by the abandonde building just the three mages and the werewolf. the weedeater is closer to them only abot 5 yards awya but on the other side of the fence. the wind is picking up and the leaves of the big oak are rustling.

at the French quarter I will need triess and cheshire to make alertness rolls and i need to know if they are following the women into the hotel or what you intend to do.

Cade had a sense that something was happening, and he pushed his glasses up his nose and calmed his mind.  " coram oculis ultra"   It was a rote that his father had taught him, allowing him to perceive multiple facets of reality at once, and he turned his gaze skyward as the clouds rolled in.  "Oh, shit."  they were the only words to come to mind for the normally taciturn young man, as he stared, in a sort of awe at hundreds of storm elementals, within the treetops,  With  greater elemental in the clouds above.  Looking down he could now see symbology that while he couldn't recognize, it definitely  held mystic power.

"Guys, someone's pooling the power here, calling hundreds of storm spirits.   Something really big and likely damn bad is about to happen.   We need someone who can communicate with spirits and isn't on shitty terms quick or we're standing at ground zero for something really bad."

"So," Triessa said to Cheshire as they looked at the front of the hotel, "Any idea when they're getting murdered? I get we have to help them, but we're a pretty long ways from the others now.

She started walking to the hotel, then looked back at the other mage and waved her to follow.

"Come on, lets go actually talk to them. We've come all this way, it'd be shame not to even meet them."

Terrence noticed Kaitlin's brow furrow as she got pinged on the unexpected mental conference call. She would have rebuffed it out of course, except she had the unmistakable sense that it came from Genevieve. Alongside the psychic invitation Kaitlin felt a sudden and ephemeral sense of... home, the mountains and rivers, the forests and sunlight falling over the bare, entwined limbs of her and her wolf-friend, there and gone. Wha...?

Kaitlin slipped into the Dufresne-Net, something like two imaginary stars blooming in her mind that corresponded to Genevieve and Jeacques. <Huh? Neat!> There was a hint of wonder, then a shadow of suspicion. <You can't actually read my mind using this, right? Because if you can, I'm hanging up.>

She glanced over at a sound quickly enough that almost anyone would risk whiplash, but it was just a groundskeeper using a weedwhacker on the other side of the fence to the cemetery. Then she looked up, frowning. The sky was getting dark and quickly thanks to a rolling bank of thick, grey, angry clouds. The region around New Orleans was a lot different than that around Dubois, Wyoming, with lakes, swamps and the Gulf of Mexico nearby instead of mountains, valleys, and being relatively dry, so she wasn't familiar with the local weather patterns. But it had been clear all day and it seemed to her that the wind and cloud cover was picking up faster than it should.

"Looks like a storm's comin', and fast," Kaitlin commented drily to Terrence and the Twins. Rain and chill didn't really bother her, but most other people didn't care for it. Keeping half an eye on the brewing storm, she focused on the flow of her personal chi and in turn tried to follow the threads of power flowing through the clouds above. "Have someplace nearby we can wait it out?"

Terrence glanced up at the sky and with a peek sideways saw Grandfather Thunder riding the cloud, his brood flitting among the trees. This could get bad he thought to himself

"That depends sha, thes place is sacred ground, thes da restin place of da lost, da disenfranchised, da dead no one can name and no one want to claim. This da holiest site in N'awlins not dat damn stone house cross da way. Thes da heart of N'awlins. And Grandfather Thunder, he no like anyone not belong pokin roun'."

The wind blows through the trees.

Cade can see that Cross, Aja and he are pretty much surrounded. The smaller storm elemental s seem to made of wind and lightning are roughly man sized but look like little storm clouds the are flitting here and there but all stay out of the circle of trees surrounding the memorial.

Kaitlin listening to Terrence, her spell showing her the collected force within the cloud appears to be Kinetic and electric but something else she doesn't know is binding it together . She can tell that it is not part of the magick of this place but she can tell that the magic seems to respond to it. She can also tell that the same forces which make up the storm are swirling around the memorial proper and that  the guys are in the middle of the powerful force.

"Whyn't cho call ya frien's ova here and we all go get us a drink? You and me can get better acquainted."  He give Kait a look that reminds her of a predator about to pounce on a rabbit. " I in-tro-duce my frien's and we all hav a little parle' mabey a little dancin" some good food."  His voice is taking on a seductive tone and he steps a bit closer to her staring into her eyes...

< It not like that. It's just talking. Well, thinking. Or thinking to talk. Whatever. You get the idea. > Genevieve thought.

< Anyways... So what's the deal with homeboy there? We got your back if things go sideways. Though be mindful of the incredibly sudden and out of the blue storm that I am sure is in no way connected to nearly half our number just barging right into a node with werewolf markings around it despite our suggestions to everybody to take our time and case these places first. And never mind the fact the a quarter of our number are now who knows where because they hopped a trolley chasing some girls.>

<He's totally a werewolf, but seems on the up-and-up... mostly> Kaitlin replied as she returned Terrence's glance with one of her own that clearly said she was more a mountain lion than a rabbit. <And pretty sure he knows something 'bout the storm - mentioned Grandfather Thunder. Gonna take him up on the invite - it'll give us all a chance to talk in someplace public. Should keep down the potential of a brawl, right?>

"I could go for some dancing and food instead of standing out here in the rain," Kaitlin admitted with a smirk, and she could always eat. "Let me call over the rest." She turned her side to him, giving a good look at her profile, and placed a pair of fingers in her mouth. Then she let out a piercing whistle that cut through the rising wind.

When the guys in the cemetery looked over at her, she waved them over, then jerked a thumb at Terrence. When Aja looked doubtful, she mouthed 'parley', then raised her so the guys could hear her say it, when they didn't seem to get it. "Parley!" Then she added for Xavier's benefit. "And Dancing and Drinks!"

Cade nodded, relaxing only the most minute amount.  Violating Parley would be bad, and could damn well cause a war between supernatural denizens of the city.  "Come on, we should be safe for now.   We don't want to be here when what's going on happens anyway, it will be unpleasant."

He guided the other two mages over to Kaitlin and her newfound "Friend," getting at least abit more of the gang back together.   "So where to?  Not that I mind rain, but a storm like what this could be isn't something I want to be out in."

As the rest of the mages minus Triessa and Cheshire gather around Terrence it takes all his willpower to keep from showing any fear. He doesn't know what he is dealing with and he is vastly outnumbered. Even with the spirits guarding him he doesn't know how this is going to play out. Damn, he thinks, I shoulda called some one.

"Well sugar you got choo a party don' choo. I'm Terrence by da way What choo name honey and who all dees other folks?"

After Kaitlin introduces everyone. Terrence suggest a little bar a grill place a couple of  blocks "right cheer down Canal".

After relocating to  the Beachcomer Bar and Grill, a typical touristy restaurant. Not very busy at this hour with only a few tables filled. The staff is made up of all African American men and women but most are light skinned showing a mixed heritage.

Terrance finds a big booth and settles in beckoning Kaitlin to sit next to him. She looks at everyone else, and smiles as she slides into the booth, Cade has a bit of a scowl as she does. Everyone else finds a seat either in the booth or around a table they pull up to connect to the booth.

A younge black waitress comes up with menus and asks if you want to order now or if she should come back. "I'll have some deem Bufflo' strips and a bottle of Dos Equis" He holds up his hand with two fingers extended when he says dos equis, "Choo all want to look at dee menu a minute?" he leans close to Kaitlin, "Don' worry sha, dey won' card choo here."

Cade still scowling speaks "Just bring everyone the same thing please, beer and the buffalo strips."

"I want a margarita not beer and how about one of these Bacon blue cheese fries that sound good." Interjects Cross ignoring the dirty look Cade gives him.

The waitress scrambles down the orders and as hse leaves "I'll have your drinks ina minute."

Terrence waits till she's out of earshot. "Ok from sugar here's reaction I take it choo all know what a Parley is and know da rules?"

"We've all seen the Pirate movies, I'm sure," Kaitlin remarked drily. "I just hope you ain't thinking 'bout pulling a Barbarossa on us, and claiming Parley are just guidelines rather than rules."

To leave no doubt of her meaning, she caught Terrence's gave then cut her amber eyes distinctly to the front windows, were a couple of the Storm Totem's spirit minions were watching them. <Heads up, guys, couple of that storm's spirits are kicking about. The spirits didn't bother him, he certainly had ways of handling them if it really came to it, though he wasn't happy about using them.  "Yes, let's keep this fun and polite.   Since you suggested this Parley, why don't you start us off while we wait for our food and drink to return?"  In contrast to the New Orleans Yat accent that Terrence had, Cade's voice held no accent,  as he had been taught proper pronunciation was very important in will-working.  This wasn't to say there weren't times when he had an accent, when he got mad, it came out, and had been the source of more than one "interesting" situation.

He held up his hand to forestall any outburst and nodded.  "Now, of course, A new situation has arisen, which brings us to now, and how we can peaceably resolve this."

<Oh goddamnit. > Genevieve said mentally as she listened to Cade and groaned as she rolled her eyes and dropped her forehead to the table.

< Make it stop. Make it stop.> she groaned mentally.

< You do not start off by going to THEIR place and then putting ALL of your cards on the table and giving them ALL of our ACTUAL names. He could not negotiate his way out of a wet paper bag. How is he, and most of these people for that matter, even still alive? Like, seriously. Then three go barging right into the node-thingy and one goes to confront our watcher... alone. This is just... ugh. One of us needs to get in there to damage control this shit. > she sad mentally, though it was unsure of she remembered Kaitlin was in the link or not.

Putting his arm around Kaitlin's shoulders, Terrence found her to be even more solid than she looked when she shrugged out from under his arm under the pretense of surreptitiously looking around. While it could be taken as a sign she wouldn't let herself be claimed by anyone that easily, Kaitlin seemed more distracted than anything else. Even inside the bar&grill, she felt the brush of a phantom wind on the nape of her neck and the scents of home and her wolf friend in her nose. What is this? Is he here or is this a werewolf thing?

"I know a bit," Kaitlin admitted in reply to Terrence, arching a challenging brow at him. "Had a friend back home who taught me some and he doesn't feel far away just now."

If Genevieve wasn't sure if Kaitlin was still in the link or not, she had no doubt when the tall girl turned hard, honey-coloured eyes on her. <You haven't said anything except 'bout how we don't have to do all the rituals right now, right away, which I agree with. If you've said anything else, it's just been mental bitching with your brother. If you think there needs to be damage control, then step up. I don't think it's going too bad, myself. From my experience, limited as it is, werewolves are pretty direct, seems only polite to be so in kind.>

Genevieve lifter her head and glanced over at Kaitlin, though it was unclear if her expression was confusion or annoyance, or possibly a mix of both.

< Either you have a short memory, do not listen or are just wanting to fight. I dunno which of those it is, and right now, I do not really care. But here is a little summarized refresher for you. Before we left the last bar I said that we 1) do not need to get this all done in a day. 2) We should take out time and case the places to figure out the best 'plan of attack' so to speak to do the rituals and 3) that the Arch Deacon gave us other stuff to do like getting to know each other, working out things within our cabal and all that jazz. Did we do any of that that? No. We got here, the other girls ran off, the other 3 guys when barging into the node and you went off alone to confront out watcher and we, my brother and I, were the one who were there watching your back. I have done no 'mental bitching' with my brother or anybody else, at all, until literally a few seconds ago, and in so doing I was bringing up with my brother that one of the two of us needs to step in so we could discuss who is better suited. >

<You might know how to climb something really well or kick something in the face or lift something heavy, and I can totally differ to you on those things and I am sure in a fistfight you could totally kick my ass, but shit this is how we survived as teens, alone and on the streets, all over this nation, often dealing with some sketchy people... by our wits, and our ability to talk and negotiate and other things where subtlety, discretion and even inconspicuousness are key. >

< Don't think it's going too bad? For Mr. Werewolf, yeah, it's going great. So far we are at his place, with some of those spirits still following us, and Cade put all our cards out on the table giving up our position and gave him all of our actual names and in return what have we got from him? Some drinks?  You can be 'direct' without giving everything away. So for the record, this is going terribly, unless once again Lady Luck steps in to bail our asses out like she did at the bar. >

< That is not to say that it is not salvageable, but no, it is not going well for our side so far. >

Terrance didn't fight Kaitlin's ducking out from under his arm nor did he miss the looks the two women at the table exchanged, but he kept his focus on the perceived leader. "Now, Cade Allistaire, choo know dat ain' wat i meant. Who are You?" He had picked up a hot-sauce bottle off the table and now he gestured around the table encompassing all of the mages. "I gots an inklin, but I like to know what i'm dealing wit chere. So wat say you, we lays our cards on da table."

He sits back again as the waitress returns puts down glasses and the beers and margarita in front of everyone.

"Have ya Food out in just a bit." As she turns away she gives Terrence what she thinks is a subtle nod, but it's obvious that she isn't used to subterfuge.

He picks up his glass and pours his beer then hands it to Kaitlin, then picks up her glass and beer and pours for himself.

"You see da spirits of da caern, sugar here seen the markings and knows wat day mean. she tinks im a... werewolf eh. I am. So what is choo?"

At The Marriott Hotel...

He watched the three girls he had been following go into the elevator watched as the car rose up, up the floors. Watched as they went to a room and entered. the number 4016 displayed in the center of the red door.

He was about to move there when he stopped, something was off his eyes swept the lobby and there by the entrance were two of the women he had seen on the street car. He looked closer his breath caught in his throat, his palms grew sweaty. They were beautiful. Not in the plastic made up the teenaged girls who he suddenly forgot about. No these two were natural beauties and they were perfect. "Summer clothes..." He whispered.

Triessa is on her way to the counter, ready to ask the concierge if he'd seen the girls she and Cheshire were trailing, when she paused and glanced back around the lobby without quite knowing why...

She felt the pain in her eye, but didn't let it distract her; instead, she focused on her esoteric senses. Her sight chased along the geometric patterns of the tiled lobby floor, until she could feel the hidden patterns of movement and Spirit in the hotel. She peered into the Otherworld, watching it's denizens chase to and fro on momentums of emotion and intent, looking for the darker shadows of violence-about-to-be and the reapers that split the souls and bodies of mortals in their final moments. They should be gathering near, hitching metaphysical rides on the various players stepping into their roles for the murders she had seen in the girls' near future.

Genevieve might have had some points, but Kaitlin wasn't about to admit that after she just in not so many... uh, thoughts, called her a musclehead, and that just after reiterating that the Deacon said they should get to know each other better. And while that nod from the waitress suggested Terrence was getting word to his pack, so far to her, she still thought he playing it mostly straight with them.

She nodded her thanks as Terrence poured her drink for her, then clinked her glass to his before taking a pull that was actually smaller than it looked. She'd never met someone she couldn't drink under the table - even without cheating - but no need to chances, just in case. Then she arched a brow at Cade and Genevieve, clearing asking them: Well?

"I am a Mage, if we're going to go with the most common way of calling it."  He knew terrence was no vampire, and no mage himself, so he said it.  "So where exactly does that leave us?"  He poured his own drink, taking a sip, and managing to hide his distaste for it.  Beer wasn't his poison of choice, and this wasn't even really good beer.  "What do you know of us?"

The look on Terrence's face seemed to say "I wasn't expecting that" as he slowly took a sip of beer. Mages. Ok. Mages. Damn This could be sticky. He really wished Naomi would get here and soon. "Well hows about dat. Choo ain't no bell ringers," and he looks around at all of you and chuckles, "And don' look like you into da Voodoo. So unless choo all some one new I'm guessing Coo all from da house with the spinney planet thing."

Cade narrows his eyes but before he can say anything the waitress arrives with the food and a second round of drinks.

After she leaves Terrance digs in to the food and talks with his mouth full. "I don' know not my call you talk about power cause dat all choo see. We don' know nutin bout dat what we see is life. Tings change man." He presses his leg up against Kaitlin's. "What choo had before it be gone now it be some'tin else. Dat storm day call Katrina, man, it changed da world. Naw'lins belong to Grandfather Thunder now and we be his Krewe. man. These wings are good, wat choo think sugar." he turns and smile at Kaitlin and then sits up a bit straighter as his gaze shoots past the mages across from him to the entrance of the bar.

Three people have entered and stopped just inside the entrance as their eyes adjust. All three are looking at the table with Terrence and the mage's are sitting at. The newcomers are all dressed in biker leathers, two of them are black one male and one female. These two flank the third who is a strong looking and very beautiful woman of obvious American Indian ancestry. The Native American woman is by far the most striking woman any of you have seen in a long time. She is tall, standing at 5'10" and has a physique that would be the envy of most athletes. Her beauty is both classic and exotic.

The three make a show of taking off the heavy leather biker jackets revealing well muscled and toned figure on all three the man heavily tattooed on his arms and body. All three appear to be in their early twenties. They hang their jackets and  come toward the table.

"Ahh look like some a my friends have stopped by for a beer"

As the three approach the table  they hear Terrence speaking The black girl puts her hands on her hips and cocks her head to the side and glares at Terrence. "Why the fuck you talking like a swamp trash Terrance?" Her voice is husky and while the accent is there it isn't pronounced. She is however broadcasting a pretty big tough girl vibe. Her look of contempt as she studies the people sitting at the table only softens when she looks at the two women. Her gaze on them lingers for several seconds longer than on the men as she appraises them. The man simply chuckles crossing his arms as he too looks at Genevieve and Kaitlin appreciatively. Kaitlin notices that while he appears to stand casually he is in fact coiled tightly like a spring ready to explode. He nods to her, one warrior to another.

"Aww Janisha, why you gotta be like that, shit ." Everyone notices that Terrence's heavy accent dissappers when he answers the black girl.

The Native American woman pretty much ignores everyone as she shifts around the table to look directly at Cade and Cross.

"Cade Allistaire and Xavier Cross, would not have expected the two of you in the same gang." Her voice is rich and sounds like velvet, her accent has a creole hint but again not overwhelming. A peel of thunder crashes as lightning flashes outside, the building rattles.

"So do we have a problem?"

Spoiler

While she seems to at least know Cade and Cross' name Neither of them can recall ever seeing her before. The DuFresne's may make a straight awareness check at diff 8 two sux (including one from each of you) will let them remember having seen her at one or more of their street shows a time or two, usually with a group that could have had these others in it. Of the Four (Terrence , Janisha, and the other Black man as well as her) She has the most presence and simply seems to dominate the room.

Genevieve shifted modes as she saw the others walk in. If they were werewolves, then the Native American woman was clearly the Alpha of the pack and Genevieve gambled that Terrance was the Omega by how he talked to and the fact he seemed to be the one stuck with guard duty at the memorial.

< Well, here goes... >

She glanced over at Terrance and decided to roll the dice and hopefully break the tension.

"Yeah, the clever, super-secret, spy nod between you and the waitress worked oh so well. Clearly we are mere moths caught in your intricate, clandestine web of subterfuge and intrigue." she said as she shook her head and rolled her eyes with a grin.

Hopefully teasing him a little with good humor might solicit a laugh, or at least an amused grin, from the rest of his pack and get them to relax a bit. She then looked over at the new arrivals, barely glancing at Janisha and the guy as her gaze fell on the Native American woman.

"We were just killing time until somebody with some actual authority showed up, and now you're here." she said the Native American woman.

Genevieve gestured to a chair, offering the woman a seat, though she doubted the woman would take it. After a momentary pause to allow the woman to take the seat or not, Genevieve continued.

"Kinda funny though. we've crossed paths before..." she said, indicating the woman and the others she arrived with, "...at our street shows, but I doubt you ever thought we'd be crossing paths quite like this."

Hopefully reminded the woman that she was a local too and that in the past they never had any issues with one another might help somewhat.

Genevieve shrugged at the thought, staying relaxed and keeping things casual.

"Anyways, The Storm hit and shit changed. Everybody has been cleaning up ever since. In doing so, my friends here noticed that one of the places we had ties to, which your boy there was watching over, had moved.. and apparently changed. It is to be expected though. Change is the only constant and a part of the natural order."

"Anyways, we weren't not looking to start shit, nor upset Grandfather Thunder. No disrespect was intended, so we approached your boy and waited for you."

"The long and the short of it is that we were looking to re-establish our ties there, but at the same time we are not wanting to step on toes. Things have been peaceful around here, more or less, and we would like to keep it that way. It benefits all of us. Hopefully, we can work something out that benefits all of us. Since you seem to have some juice with Grandfather Thunder, you're the logical person to talk to."

At the Mariotte Hotel

The Magick of a Willworker is personal, individual. No two mages even if of the same tradition and the same teacher, will create the same effect in exactly the same way. In fact that is the Strength and greatest weakness of the Mage, In the end only the result matters.

The two women both with vastly different talents and backgrounds both arrive at the same point in their own way. Triessa a nature witch if ever there was one in tune with the living world and Cheshire a living dead girl with an uncanny attachment to the hereafter and it's denizens. Both looked to the center of the busy lobby. There in the center of the room stood a man.

He was nondescript, average height neither fat nor thin, his hair an unassuming brown and his over all look simply normal. Nothing about him stood out in any way shape or form even his clothes were just average. But that was where the normal ended and they entered the realm of magick.

'The air around him seemed to shimmer and was blurry. No one except Triessa and Cheshire seemed to notice this. In fact no one but the two women seemed to notice him at all, they just walked by and around him altering their courses without thought. Behind the man but not in the lobby stood a red door it too was somewhat blurry.

Both women stopped and watched him realizing he was staring directly at each of them even though both of them were now on different sides of the lobby from each other, Triessa near the desk and Cheshire still by the entrance. They both could now sense the magick, see it flow and weave at the man's direction.

He was a Mage.

At the Bar and Grill

The Native American woman's attention shifted from Cade and Cross to Genevieve as Genevieve spoke. Briefly she glanced at Jacques but her main attention was on Gen.  Cade noticed that she was wearing a Bluetooth in her right ear when she turned to look at the young female mage. When Genevieve finished the Werewolf spoke.

"I remember you, and your shows as you call them. You only worked the tourists so you weren't a problem. Then. But as you say things change. We know who brought on Katrina and it wasn't Bush. We know who brought all the death and destruction to this place. And it angers Grandfather Thunder That his Storms would be used to ravage Gaia. He has sworn that that will not happen again the lost and uncounted are under his care now. This land is under his eye. And we are his hands.” She crosses her arms and again looks at each of the mages. “But you are right there is peace of a sort here and we will see it maintained." She frowns at Terrence, who withering under her glare, moves several inches away from Kaitlin a bit. “Which of you speaks for your masters?”

"You know who brought on Katrina?" Genevieve asked the Native American woman, showing a little surprise.

"Oh that's good," she sighed in relief.

"Then you know it wasn't us and was, in fact, those we oppose. They seek to turn the world into a stagnant, static, unchanging place devoid of vitality, imagination, change. A place where science rules and anything else that does not fit in, such as the supernatural, magick, spirits and even dreams, is therefore purged. Those were the people who brought about The Storm, and countless other things, as nature and reality itself recoiled and then corrected the imbalance. Unfortunately, many were collateral damage in the process, mortal and others, including my kind."

"They were too successful though, and reality didn't like being confined and limited as they were trying to do it, so it rebelled, broke their bonds and lashed out at them, using the Storm, and many other things, to put their asses in check and level the playing field for the rest of us. They brought it on themselves through their hubris."

"So we, like many others, are picking up the pieces and trying to make sure that it never happens again. To that end, we seek to re-establish our ties with that place so that we can be better able to oppose them and protect the innocent when they get their house back in order and almost certainly try again. I am sure you have things, enemies and situation that you deal with, and we have our own as well, but I am willing to bet that at times we are both working to the same end or against the same force, probably without even knowing it. And like you said, we only ever worked the tourists. This city is our home too, and we would see it protected as well. We never want something like the Storm to happen ever again."

"We are not looking to step on toes though. If you claim that place, or Grandfather Thunder does and you serve, worship and/or work for him, then hopefully we can come to an arrangement that benefits both parties. If not, then you were there first and we'll be on our way. "

"I am sure it is reflex to 'protect what's your's' and just make the snap decision to blow us off, but I urge you not to be so impulsive. If that is how you want to play it though, then that's your call. It would just be a shame to let an opportunity like this to cooperate, which could lead to better relations and more cooperation in the future, walk out the door without giving it due thought."

Genevieve shrugged. Her demeanor was relaxed and casual still, as it had been the entire time. If she had any fear of talking to a probably werewolf pack alpha, then she certainly wasn't showing even a hint of it.

"It's your call though. So how do you wanna play it?" she asked as she relaxed back in her seat and took a drink from her glass.

"I'm Genevieve, by the way," she added, lifting her glass a little toward the woman.

Cheshire frowned and was no longer a slightly lost young woman. Not only was their murderer now aware of them, but he was Aware. "Triessa, please go back to the House and tell them what we have found, then find our cabal. I will keep him confined until then, but hurry. Please do not argue, it makes this even more dangerous and wastes time."

Her voice was calm and focused as she spoke, her body already in the languid, fluid motion half-way between dance and violence. This was more than mere physical training; she was warping the flows of magick, of luck and fate and all the things only remembered in dreams, into every movement. She matched her steps to the paths of spirits of luck and good omen, altering them just enough to enshroud her companion with their resonance. Hopefully it would mean that Triessa would do as asked and find forture in her favor as she went about those tasks. A good start is often the finish.
