Aphrodite Pandemos
I'm thinking about running an adventure path. Would anyone be interested? If so, which system do you prefer?D&D SRDPathfinder SRD
Jordan
I am assuming from the chat that you are talking either Pathfinder or D&D. My vote is for 5th Ed D&D... If 5th ed is out then I vote Pathfinder over D20 D&D...
Aphrodite Pandemos
Sorry, I forgot to mention D&D will be the SRD version. I don't have enough knowledge about 5th to run it.
SalmonMax
Pathfinder is definitely better than D&D 3.5 (the version of the current SRD).
Charlotte
I have come around on Pathfinder in the past year and if we're playing a D&D adjacent game I'd like to give that one a shot.
Aphrodite Pandemos
Looks like we have a good bit for Pathfinder. If we do it, we will be using Paizo's SRD, not d20PFSRD. That's mean you'll have Core, Advanced Class Guide, Advanced Player's Guide, Advanced Race Guide (no custom races), Ultimate Combat, Ultimate Magic, Ultimate Equipment, Game Mastery Guide, Ultimate Campaign and Bestiaries. You shouldn't need NPC Codex or Monster Codex. And you can't have Technology Guide There possibly will be some things from the Adventure Path I choose too! SalmonMax
Which path are you considering?
Aphrodite Pandemos
Rise of the Runelords most likely. Unless there is a suggestion otherwise.
Charlotte
Sounds good to me. How many players are you looking for?
Aphrodite Pandemos
I'd like at least four. Jordan, Charlotte and Max are three. And it being a regular adventure path, I'm pretty sure you need at least a trap picker/scout and a healer. Damage dealers and takers would be keen too, but I'm sure and class with a d8 or better can pull that off. Casters? Yeah they would be nice too! Then again, I have been in games where casters were needed and we did well without.
darksol-aeternium
Crap...I already played this mod in a tabletop game! It IS kewl tho, you all should enjoy it.

Charlotte
In terms of traps and some backup healing, I have had my eye on Investigator for a while. For a frontliner, I feel that "mermaid swashbuckler" with the Strongtail racial trait is about as Me as a character can get.
SalmonMax
I have ideas that could fit any role, so I'll wait and see what other folks are interested in.
Aphrodite Pandemos
Charlotte, are you looking to keep the tail long term? Would your character and/or you be adverse to the fins to feet spell? Not saying you have to have legs! Just wondering
Charlotte
Wouldn't be adverse to it, but Strongtail means you can slither on the ground like a lamia in exchange for slower swim speed, and I like the idea of this half-human half-fish swordfighter. Jordan
lol, I see this game is going to be the usual "Group of adventuring monsters that should terrify the average village but somehow doesn't..." EDIT: I am considering either Summoner or Slayer as class. Gunslinger, Arcanist, Bloodrager, Monk and Sorcer are also of interest but Slayer brings dps to the table and I can pick up trapfinding at level 2. Summoner on the otherhand gives me (admittedly limited) spellcasting ability and a rechargable meatshield. Race is still up in the air although there is a good chance I will probably just go Human (unless we can create our own...)
SalmonMax
Slayer I can vouch for...it's a strong class. Good damage, and decent (if not exceptional) defense and skills. I was thinking of a Synthesist Summoner if I made a melee brute, but I have ideas for a sorceror, an Archaeologist Bard, and an Oracle.
Jordan
Quick question. How are we generating starting attributes and are we starting at first level? Okay, that was 2 questions
Aphrodite Pandemos
I'm going to set up an official thread later tonight/in the morning, but the stats so far arePathfinderRise of the Runelords Anniversary Edition Adventure Path25 point buyLevel 1Paizo SRD (not d20pfsrd) + Occult Adventures (if you use OA please choose either a core race or a featured race)This is the player's guide. Charlotte
lol, I see this game is going to be the usual "Group of adventuring monsters that should terrify the average village but somehow doesn't..."Mermaids ain't that scary or out there, but fair enough, I can play something normal. Jordan
Oh no, don't let my comment derail your character concept... One of my concepts is a Vanara (Monkey-dude) so please, if you want to be a mermaid than go for it!
SalmonMax
lol...so if I make a kitsune, then we have a pretty 'Journey to the West' cast assembled, yeah?
Aphrodite Pandemos
Hm, maybe i should run something a little more out of the way. Somewhere were no one would get suspicious of a fox, a monkey and a fish Naw, still going with this and not discouraging any of you at all!Though I don't know, if we don't get at least 4, it might be bust anyways
SalmonMax
Hehe, I'm not actually planning to make a kitsune.
AceWildcard
I am game. I have a lot of pathfinder books as well. I have a few character I want to do, but the problem is if I should work more on a character I have an clear idea on, or those whom I have an idea but not sure how to work them. Basically I am thinking on doing either a human magus, bard, or cleric, elf tactician or knight (I think that's the class name.Been a while since I look up that class. The basic concept is an military strategist style character.), or a dwarf ranger.I do have a question to ask for the gm. What is our starting cash? I did not see it on the first page.
