      The maestro base class is effectively the bookish bard, an individual who studies music to the point that he can compose his own custom scores from various intros, outros, and melodies in his Composition Book. At release, the class had enough compositions to get by, but, as wizard-like classes go, they can always use more. This modest expansion seeks to add some variety to the maestro's development as a character by providing a selection of compositions with feat requirements.

       

      The maestro primarily works in five schools of magic: conjuration, divination, enchantment, evocation, and illusion. This product features three compositions that require the Spell Focus feat for each of these schools of magic, save enchantment, which has two to balance the fact that the base class already has a composition requiring Spell Focus (enchantment). These compositions offer highly specialized uses, including fate-fixing through rerolls, buffers against hostile enchantments, party-wide mirror image effects, and the conjuration of a fat lady who stuns everything near her. Applied to the base compositions present in the maestro base class, this collection of the situational and the downright powerful will be sure to get the creative juices flowing once more.

There's a history from when humans first settled, a calandar, an overview of races and monsters (including a new monster, the "Ratten"), and information on the gods of the land. In addition to this, the focus of volume one is on The Kingdom of Karak, which was the first of the two human kingdoms to be established.

      Expect follow-ups detailing the other human kingdom, the demihuman areas, the frontier areas including Die Piraten Inseln (pirate infested islands), and the broken lands which detail the lands to the north, ravaged for hundreds of years by dark magic and just recently reclaimed by the forces of good.

      All of the setting material gives enough detail for the Labyrinth Lord to get a solid feel for the world, without having their creativity stifled by superfluous fluff. There will be adventures coming in the near future that will add story, depth, and detail to parts of the land for busy referees who don't have time to develop their own, but for those who just want a fun backdrop to base their own works in, Mithgarthr is perfect.

         The horrifying realities of fear, this short book probes into what fear is, not B-Movie cheap terror or thrills. But the true meaning of fear, below is a segment of the text:

      "Its gaze. The blank stare of creeping terror, pierces my heart and idles my brain. The nightmares reoccuring, the breathe of its stench whirring beneath its wings terrifies me. It left me there, it left me open to truth that in terror, we are lucky, for there is an object to fear, a direction to run from. But by leaving me it has shown me the truth, the truth that all people dread, in secret or in public among their piers.

      We are all afraid.

      And without that object of fear in my presence I have no direction, I have not a single goal, because without it here I am left alone. Unknowing of when it shall return if ever. What all people hate is being fearful, but the true terror is being alone, for we all fear being alone. What is worse than such a fear? Waiting with an idle mind, a mind that digs deeper into its recesses, thinking, pondering, and stalling. Knowing that some day it shall return again. But you may never know when that time is. The only thing I fear is waiting alone."
