[Shadowrun] Rewind, Reboot

Heaven's Reach ST

Recommended Posts

Having been selected to be part of this particular crew, each of the various members of Draco's special assets were now contacted by Tanya Harding and requested for a particular mission. The hard data was that a high priority shipment was being brought into Seattle though a shipping company, the manifest contained a number raw materials useful for different sort of magical research, including a large amount of rare awakened materials difficult to obtain.. and several unattached foci of various degrees of power. These items are within the three numbered crates indicated below.

,,

[A data file showing the 3 numbered crates from the manifest is included here, size of all three crates: 48 x 48 x 48", the Ship carrying them was arriving at the Seattle Docks late tonight, and it was mid-morning now]

,,

These items are to be sold to the highest bidder in a auction within a week of off loading, some of these bidders are not at all favored by the Foundation.. here are your goals.. Obtain all of the items within these crates, or even just one of them if possible, the raw materials would be especially useful for the foundation's goals.. you will be paid 25,000 nuyen for each of these crates or percentage of items within them delieved to the foundation. Additionally, in case it needs to be said, this must be done without discovery of who obtained them, in other words, subtlety as possible.

,,

And here's the reboot, enjoy folks, questions as you like.. the run is yours, I suggest picking a leader to keep things moving forward might be in order.. how you carry out this mission is up to you all.

Your Location: Seattle

,,

For those of you who may have forgotten, this is Tanya

,,
The_Fixer_by_Ascavilya.jpg

Name: Tanya Mira Harding

Race: Human

Know Capablities: Tanya is a mundane human, with a bit of cyberware to enhance her capabilities.

Roles: Accountant, Fixer, Information Broker

,,

Tanya is the Seattle Office's Accounting Manager, but what she really is, is an 'Equipment and Information Specialist', if you need something that you don't personally own, she is the the one to talk too, but more then that, she keeps her hand in the information business as well, if you want to know something, she's the one to go too. She keeps the records of the various items that the Seattle office has in storage, as well as what funds they have access to at this time. Of course, nothing is free, she rarely lets go of anything of value unless someone higher up has told her too.. but she has jobs of her own that she will sometimes ask a group of runners to look into if they want something from her.

,,

Regardless of this, she is not all business, nor is she heartless, if someone can convince her of the need, she'll part with items and information for a future favor, though sooner or later she's going to collect, and she has enough favors to have quite a bit of influence in the office. She is also willing to be won over, though her tastes are high enough that can be expensive.

,,

Personality wise, she's very curious, the term 'curiosity killed the cat' can be applied to her, and she's often wondering about things from other viewpoints, she has a mild addiction to BTL chips that some folks who know her make use of, as she is a bit more willing to trade favors for a new experience.

Sakurako drummed her fingers on her seat.

,,

"Too late for a waterborne intercept..."

,,

Sighing she looked to her compatriots. "I'm not sure what we got for purchasing what is being delivered... so the option in my mind... theft."

,,

"It would take too much prep to get to the ship now and masquerade crew. By the time we're set it'll already be at the dock. We have to figure some way we can hit the ship when it reaches port. Only option I can think of. Thing is, what sort of escape should we plan?"

"Uh uh," says Death Otter. "Look at the fine print. They want it done discretely. So no big shootouts in public places, no fingerprints on the job."

,,

She purses her lips.

,,

"Tricky. Impersonating the pickup maybe, if we can hit them before they get there, take them out, and get the payment from them...along with any recognition codes or whatever they're using. Otherwise...what if we impersonate the package?"

,,

The technomancer brought up a magnified copy of the image showing the crates.

,,

"We can get duplicate crates made, then see if we can work a switcheroo. Field a distraction...maybe hire some gangbangers to stage a hit or something. While they're duking it out..." She sighed. "Not that swapping four cubic meters of high security cargo without the handlers ever knowing will be easy. Might be better just to let them make the pickup, then ambush them somewhere and leave no survivors or witnesses."

,,

She looked around. "We're not missing anyone are we? Who's in on this?"

,,

(OOC : that last question is both IC and OOC. :))

"Well D0, I was thinking something a bit more involved than hit it and quit it. More like go in, steal as quietly as we can, then get out... but... if it's being sent to us it's not that easy."

,,

She sighed. "Gotta remember the default we get is something most runners out there would turn pale over."

,,

"And yeah, I'd like to know who else is in."

"Subtle doesn't have to mean bunny-hugging," Death Otter points out. "It just means we can't go in guns blazing in full view of...whoever's watching. We can take them out, but we'd have to do it when they're off the radar. Hence the 'ambushing them and leaving no survivors or witnesses' idea. 'Course, that has challenges too. Gotta find out who's coming, what they're driving, what their route's gonna be... That's why we get the big nuyen, right?" She grins.

"You know... every street around here is part of the gridnet... if we can send them into an Ambush we can rock them with a good old-fashioned ambush. I can set up with some sniper action as you, D0, send them into my hurt box and I take out their tires... or driver if necessary. Teach can bring the heavy beatings and whoever else will have their job covered."

,,

She smiled. "Hopefully we also will have all the security cameras in my hurtbox offline long enough for the grab."

,,

She smiled, leaning back in her chair. "I knew investing in my suit to make it nice and invisible visually would come in handy..."

"Leave GridNet and cameras to me," Death Otter said. "'Course, to use the grid to track 'em, I need to know which car they're in. Hard to tell that without seeing them...SO I'll have to have eyes on them when they make the pickup. Then I can crack the VID. Hell, if it's set to rig, I can just drive it somewhere secluded so they can have a teachable moment. After I fry the rigger, that is."

She frowned, then shrugged.

"Anyway, won't know exactly what we're dealing with until the deal's made, so we should stay flexible. We'll need a van...something that can hold most of us, but is still fast enough to keep up if it comes down to a chase. And I'll need to check the docks out before the ship comes in so I can set up some backdoors into their security systems. We can scout for grassy knolls too. Endeavor, you'll need something small and frisky you can drive offroad, in case you need to relocate during the op."

"Anything else?"

Sakurako smiled. "My bike can handle that, D0... Heck I can drive her just as good unplugged, so that's not a problem. I'll stay mobile then so when you call a hurtbox, I can report there as fast as possible."

,,

She scratched her head. "One thing... traffic... when is the package supposed to be recieved?"

,,

"Sorta wish we could hit the ship before it arrives... but with all the probable eyes looking at the ship in route, might not be an option... Although I do got a boat for that... wait..." Sakurako looks like she got hit with a lightning bolt. "What if the people recieving the package are going by boat after reciept of the packages? That has to be considered."

""Let them do the work, then we take over, not a bad plan all in all. I have complete faith in Death Otter's skills to find us our opportunity to strike." He looked to Sakurako. "And Faith in you to get us there in one piece able to pull this off, and get out of there quick, and with the objective."

  • 2 weeks later...

“I can provide a distraction.” The words came from the until-now silent form of Saori. She was leaning back in her chair, one perfectly lacquered nail glittering as she scrolled through the information available to them. “Or perhaps, we should steal out from under their noses.”

,,

Her dark eyes glittered as she looked at D0. “Can you find out where the crates are stored? We might be able to come at it from underneath, depending on where they are. Come up through the floor and into the crates, empty them and be gone.” She glanced around the room. “Thoughts?”

"Welll....they're coming in via ship," Death Otter said, tapping her lips rapidly as she thought. "Minisub though, maybe? If we can find out what ship it's on, I can try to get a manifest, which should include some kind of location code. The tricky part would be getting on the ship without raising an alarm, and then getting the package off and out of there."

"Yes, but once they're here," Saori noted idly, "we'll have 'up to a week' before they're sold." The exact phrase she was referencing from her report leapt into their focus on their screens. "So we should find out where they'll be warehoused and come up from underneath, creating distractions and such as needed." She looked around the table, one dark eyebrow rising in a question. "Thoughts?"
