"Gift?"

,,

The only gift Yseult intended for Hiriam was a boot so far up his ass he'd choke on it. Her puzzlement wasn't so much that Shane apparently liked guys, but that the squint had a libido for something beyond tech. By the smell of it, Shane had done more than just lock lips with Joran. That is taking one for the team, Shane!

,,

"It's the social convention. When one desires an audience with Hiriam, one brings a gift, a token of esteem. It's tradition."

,,

Dark brows lowered over pale eyes. Seems like Kell neglected to mention something... or he thought it would be more interesting this was. A flare of her nostrils and a quick glance around to see if Kell was lingering in the vicinity, then Yseult gave Shane a glowering nod. "Right. Of course. The gift. You, what did you get him?" Yseult's wry grin was more of a grimace. "Us, we do not want to be getting Hiriam the same thing, no?"

,,

Curtis showed the brawny and disheveled woman his purchases, who then stalked off into the street market in the area around Hiriam's domicile. She glanced over the displays impatiently, stopping at the first thing that caught her eye.

,,

It was a letter-opener with an etched blade and ivory handle, with a carved, wooden stand. Yseult could say she choose it to complement Shane's pen and inkwell, but mostly, she choose it because in a pinch, she could stab someone in the eye with it.

,,

Personally, she thought the situation would be far more simply solved by a bullet from a thousand meters thanks to her Barret XM500. Alas, if necessary, a more hands on approach would be feasible. Then she could get her hands on Kell again.

,,

Seeing her hooded looked and impatient demeanor - and the thickness of her arms and shoulders - the merchant didn't dare start with too high of a starting price, which was good - for him - since Yseult wasn't in the mood to haggle.

,,

Yseult's silent prowl made Joran jump in surprise as she came up behind the two men. "Got it Let's get this over with." The big woman gave Joran a dismissive glance. "Go away. Curtis, he can play with you again when we are done." Her lips curled lascivious as she approached Hiriam's door. "Me, I have my own man I am wanting to play with afterwards, as well."

,,

She knocked.

"If he's to be escorted out, allow me, it is why I am here. One way or another, he will come with me."

The quiet unassuming man spoke in a tone that any who knew hard combat would recognize as one more than prepared to back their words with force. He was intensely aware of his surroundings expecting an attack at his words, his whole body coiled tight like a spring prepared to strike hard and fast.

,,

So much for incognito. I hope the others are doing better than I.

,,

He waited for D'bwud's response, or more expectedly, the response of his two meathead legbreakers.

Evana

The session with Sylia did produce some useable intel: Hiriam was the main information broker on Kastar. Before Sylia went to sleep (with prodding from Evana’s massage that manipulated pressure points that induced drowsiness in the woman who was already relaxed from orgasm), she did remember to tell Evana to bring a gift, and where she could find one.

,,

The soldier made sure that Sylia was on her side and under covers before she left. It was bad form to let a civilian die through neglect.

,,

The tall beauty wove through the crowds, eyeing the goods for sale and fending off advances. The latter came often but Evana had a long history of telling men and women to fuck off with various levels of tact. She wasn’t too far from Hiriam’s place when she saw two familiar forms in the crowd. It seems she’d found some of her teammates.

,,

Evana, Curtis and Yseult

Yseult knocked on the door just as Evana said, “I see you’ve had success gathering information.” Both she and Curtis turned to see Evana, who looked far less sex-rumpled than either of them.

,,

“Yes, and now we’re going to use that intel to find out who is bothering the Althosians. Us.” The last word was added a bit too quickly.

,,

“Smooth.” Evana smirked. “Should I get a gift or can I share yours, Curty-pooh?”

,,

Curtis raised an eyebrow. “Yseult and I both felt it necessary to get our own but-”

,,

The door opened and Curtis added, “-we already knocked.”

,,

An old woman with deep wrinkles and wild gray hair peered out imperiously at them. “What?” she snarled with all the menace of the witch in the gingerbread house.

Ayato

Rolling her eyes, the woman rose to her feet and moved away from the table, pulling on her… whatever’s collar. The collared man crawled after her and wrapped his arms around her leg, pressing his face to her thigh. The rod was still in her hand and she spun it around her fingers until it blurred.

,,

D’bwub narrowed his eyes at Ayato and made a gesture with an index finger. The thugs eased Conn back into his chair but didn’t let go of him yet – another finger must signal that and Ayato idly wondered if he’d find out which one before he broke them all. “You think you can walk into my place and tell me what’s happening with people who owe me money?” His head tilted to the side, the lights shining off his styled purple hair. “What’s your angle, little man?”

"Yes, I think that, because it's what I have already been paid to do." He held the man's gaze with his own unwavering one. "I have been duly employed to retrieve this boy, and you'll find I am exceptionally honorbound to my contract." Careful

,,

"Now, I realize he owes you money, but it isn't so hard to find him, and once I've concluded my contract he'll be in one peace, and able to repay you. Allow me to take him now peaceably, and perhaps I could be persuaded to return him."

,,

He was playing up the mercenary angle to the hilt. "After all, I was only paid to retrieve him. Among my people only the contract matters."

"Lovely." Evana sighed. As always her timing was atrocious. She put on a million dollar smile and wrapped her arm around Curtis's. If she didn't have a gift she at least had her cover as Curtis's wife, so she could mooch what he brought. "Hi," she offered the woman an honest smile. "We're here to see Hiriam."

Ayato

“Tough zrzog.” The word didn’t translate into Lanten but Ayato didn’t need it to. He got the idea that D’bwub was attempting to communicate. “Boy owes me and I don’t give a priza’s tail about your contracts. Shove off.”

,,

One of the men hauled Conn to his feet while another one pushed Ayato sharply , intending push the slimmer man away. Whether Ayato would allow him to be pushed was another matter.

,,

Sorry for the short post – I wasn’t sure if Ayato would proceed into combat or not. If he does, these are two really strong baselines who are trying to beat up a nova. You don’t even need to roll, just have fun punking two thugs who can’t hurt you.

,,

Evana, Yseult and Curtis

The old woman’s eyes lit up. “Oooo! Lemme see what you have!”

,,

“Are you Hiriam?” Curtis asked as he raised his eyebrow.

,,

“No, I’m his mother. Lemme see!” She made a grabby motion with her hands; when no one dumped anything into them, she scowled. “You don’t get into my house until I see if your gifts are good enough!”

,,

Curtis and Yseult reluctantly showed her their gifts and the old woman’s face screwed up into a hideous smile. “Come in, come in. Would you like some tea?” The first room was a sitting room made mostly of polished wood, floors and walls. An intricately woven carpet in dark green softened the wooden floor while tapestries in similar colors did the same for the walls. The room had several comfortable chairs and couches in green and gold, their arms covered with golden-brown, woven dollies. The smell of cookies hung pleasantly in the air and a fireplace on the far wall had a tea pot steaming on a hook.

,,

As the old woman scurried over to pull off the pot, she said, “You can have a seat, Hirry will be with you shortly. I have grigams and tea.”

,,

“No, thank you… umm.” Evana tried, even as a wooden tea cup filled with something hot was shoved into her hands.

,,

“Oh, you can call me Mother. Everyone does.” Mother hummed as she forcibly served Curtis and Yseult, then placed a plate piled high with sphere balls of cooked dough. If sampled, they tasted like oatmeal and date cookies. “Wait right here and enjoy.”

,,

Mother bustled out of the room, leave the team members staring at one another. They didn’t have long to wait; a middle-aged man with a large belly came out of the hallway shortly. He was brown – his skin, his hair and his robes, so much that he looked like an upright log with a lump in the middle. “Welcome, I am Hiram. Mother says you need some information.” He poured himself some tea as he spoke, sinking into one of the seats and grabbing a ball-cookie. Despite his size, his eyes were sharp and attentive as he looked from one to the other.

The push might have worked on some other man, but Ayato was out of time, and patience. he didn't budge when the larger man showed him, it was as though the man had hit a steel wall. The surprise barely registered on his face before Ayato's fist slammed into his jaw. There was a sickening crunch as bone shattered under the impact. His eyes rolled back in his head even as he crumpled to the floor. The other man released Conn, looking to deal with the immediate threat, swinging a wild punch which was seemingly effortlessly dodged as a rapid succession of three strikes hit his chest, cracking ribs and causing massive bruising. he lashed out but pain slowed him, even as another succession of blows rained on his shoulders, the last hitting him in the left temple, dropping him to the floor.

,,

Ayato turned to D'bwub. "They'll live, but need medical attention. Let's end it there, my patience is at an end, as is what mercy I possess." There was an icy tone to his voice, his hands moving to his sides, where his knives were stored, knowing he would have to be on guard, and much faster, now. Conn was now behind him, and he began backing away slowly, towards the exit.

Well, this was beyond awkward. A middle aged guy living at home with his mother who only let in guests who brought presents... yeah... if he offered to show them his collection Star Wars action figures of invite them to a game of Dungeons and Dragons before he'd dispense with any info, it could get messy. To top it all off she'd just had amazing lesbian sex with a complete stranger who happened to also be an alien from another planet after finding out her 'husband' was bisexual.

,,

Oh, the drama. Maury Povich didn't have shit on Atlantis.

,,

"Yes, well, um, Hirry," She smiled as well as she could while her mind was still trying to get over the awkwardness and her still cleared from a mind numbingly fantastic series of orgasms that were long overdue. Her accent was crisp and sultry but she'd been caught off guard when suddenly everyone on her side looked at her as if to say 'your up!'. "If I can call you that. We understand that you are the man to see to when it comes to all things worth knowing, and, well, there is something we need to know. It's come to our attention that there are some people asking about the Althosians recently. We're curious as to who they might be and why they are so curious but can't seem to simply inquire with us, the Althosians themselves."

,,

Finally getting a bit of her groove back the icey haired minx's features relaxed somewhat and her smile and body language invited him to simply relax and enjoy his time with her. "Be it that you could help us?"

,,

No fancy tricks, just dialogue. If you need me to roll a skill I can, just tell me what applies.

Ayato

“I’ll find you, boy.” D’bwub smirked at Ayato as he backed away from them. “I’ll find you and your people, and you’ll pay for this. My word on it.”

,,

“I wouldn’t count on that!” A moment ago Conn had been a wreck. Now he was puffed up with excitement from being rescued. He leaned around Ayato and crowed, “My friend, and his friends – they can kick your cock from here to Ryolia!” Ayato shoved a shoulder against him to keep him in motion; Conn was more than happy to keep walking toward the door and yelling insults. “You got plucked!” The boy made a series of mocking noises that Ayato assumed were insults; D’bwub’s eyes were narrowing and his expression was darkening with anger.

,,

With a final shove against the boy, they were out the door. Conn’s sister darted forward to grab him around the waist in a fierce hug. “You idiot!” she screeched a second later before starting to chide him in another language. Conn snapped something in return and she looked like she was about to answer. She broke off to turn to Ayato. “Thank you sir! Thank you so much! I’m sorry my brother was such an idiot.” Behind her, Conn rolled his eyes. “Is there anything we can do for you in repayment?”

,,

Evana, Curtis and Yseult

“Ah, yes.” Hiriam smiled, his tone taking on the nuances of a busybody spreading juicy gossip. “I’ve heard of people asking about the Althosians. Many of them are acquaintances of mine, who were collecting for a third party. My inquiries into that party have been less than successful, but I do have a few names and descriptions that should help.

,,

“Let me state this: I know very little about them. They are Belkan, agrarian traders, generally friendly with all. I also know that they’re not just seeking the Althosians; that is, that the Althosians are not their final goal. They want something that ‘your’ people have.” The emphasis on ‘your’ made Evana suspect that yet another person had noticed they weren’t Althosian. “What that is… well, they are a very close-mouthed people. None of them practice their vices here, so we rarely learn what their final objectives are.” He sighed sadly. “How very boring of them.

,,

“Regardless, I imagine they chase the rumors about the Althosians that we all chase: that they have angered the Wraith and also made some very old, very powerful friends.” Hiriam sipped his tea, looking coyly at the group over the edge of the cup. “But those you seek chase these rumors with extreme, one could say fanatical, diligence.”

"Stay out of trouble. We just made some enemies in there, and I will not always be around." He offered them a faint smile. "I'm glad I could help, but now I need to be going, I have my own business here."

,, ,,

He looked at them, and nodded. "Have you overheard anyone searching out Athosians in particular?"

"Yes, boring indeed." Evana offered him a warm smile and continued. She ran her nails through Curtis's hair as she spoke, lovingly playing with her 'husband's' hair. "I'll get to the point Hiraim: we need to know who these people and if you have any means of pointing us in their direction. I wish I could go into specifics, but we're not the sort to sit and wait for people to find us. If they're so diligent, we'd like to show up on their doors step and offer them the opportunity to investigate us in person instead of all these cloak and dagger games."

,,

"I'm a very straight forward woman-"

,,

"Oh, I'm sure he can tell, hon." Interjected Curtis, adding some sarcasm mingled with levity.

,,

"Thank you sweetie." Evana smiled to him, returning a fraction of the sarcasm and moving on. "Hiriam, we've come for help, and we wouldn't let that help go unrewarded. So, what say you, can you help me?" She suddenly remembered that that the others were there and her eyes sort of darted about, her expression slightly lost a bit comedic. "Us. I mean, us."

Curtis leaned his neck a bit into Evana's playing fingers. To be honest, the companionship of Joran had pointed out to him that he'd been mistaken to shy from physical interaction in this manner - not that he intended to be a sex fiend, much less beyond 'sparing' interactions for the future - but Evana's stroke was soothingly pleasant.

,,

Partly because keeping appearances justified it, and he felt like getting a share as well, Curtis put his arm around Evana's shoulders, upper palm and fingers pressing and rubbing mildly against the back of her neck. However the intellectual elements of the conversation had him wondering.

,,

'Friendly' yet 'close-mouthed'? Furthermore, to his memory, no Stargate force had came across a people as such. He might simply have not learned, but at the same time, agrarian traders would be far less likely to have heard of the Atlantis Expedition, much less connect them with the Athosians.

,,

Perhaps it was fair to say the description was a self-portrayed façade? Curtis cleared his throat. "Are you certain that they are indeed, whom they describe themselves to be?"

Yseult popped another one of the cookie-balls into her mouth - it smelled innocuous enough and even if it wasn't, it wasn't it would do anything to her - and leaned back in her chair, folding her muscular arms. A tight grin that was more of a sneer flitted across her lips as she idly ran through dozens of scenarios taking down Hiriam and his mother.

,,

Despite all the shit, she rather liked the Pegasus galaxy. Sure, the Athosians were a little too spiritual and crap, but they were self-sufficient, not afraid to defend themselves or of hard work. The Genii were colossal dicks - even the women - but they got shit done (their fault they tried to pick on a dog bigger than them). Mmm-mmm, Kell... Most here seemed like that.

,,

And then there was the nerd-turd and his cow of a mother. Self-entitled, condescending, and smarmy. not unlike many of the self-important bureaucratic assholes she had to bodyguard from time to time as part of JTF-2.

,,

In a just world, she'd be allowed to beat that smirk off of Hiram's face - goddamn, fucker still lives with his mother! - then kick his ass until he told them want they wanted. Not that she was a trained interrogator. She preferred ending her encounters with a bullet or a blade, if they didn't end in the sack, but she was willing, nay eager, to give it a try, if Evana and Curtis playing lovey-dovey didn't work.

,,

The big woman eyed them - well, really, eyed Evana - askance. The Captain who looked like her better be careful with a boy like Shane. Admittedly, the straight arrow seemed be getting into it, but playing around with a boy like that was how she had ended up with her husband Harvey, the clingy barnacle.

,,

Yseult rolled her eyes then turned her icy gaze on Hiriam. She tried to keep the sarcasm from her voice with limited success. "Yeah, so can you help? And how much will it cost us?"

Ayato

Conn looked clueless but his sister nodded eagerly. “I sure have!” she chirped, confirming Ayato’s belief that she was the brains between the two. “There’s a group of farmers looking for them really hard, trying to find out where Atlantis is!” As Ayato hid his alarm at the name, she added, “They’re Belkins, and I know their… their code-thingy. I’m not sure what the word for it is in this language – the code to get the Lo’rahens to work.”

,,

Others

Hiriam watched their interactions keenly, his eyes darting from talker to talker in the room. He waited until he was sure that there no more questions coming at him before he started to answer.

,,

“Ladies, sir, I can help you. As for cost, it will depend on how long it takes to get and what it costs me. No one allows another to see their gate codes unless they’re idiots, which the Belkan are not.” Hiriam paused to sip some more tea, smiling a little at the delicate flavor. “Just as you wouldn’t give just anyone your code, so they don’t. And the Kastari are very diligent at protecting the codes of their guests. So yes. It will be time and effort to find that for you, but I will be able to find it for you.”

,,

“How long?” Yseult asked as her expression attempted to remain neutral.

,,

“A day. Maybe two, depending on my sources.” Hiriam sensed their displeasure and sighed. “I would give you an exact date, if I knew it. I don’t. I won’t assure you of something that I don’t know to be true.” He pursed his lips before adding, “And as for if they’re Belkans… I don’t know. They have said only Belkan, and they are sufficiently good at acting the part that no one has called them on it. If they aren’t, they’d hardly be the only people to say they are from one place when they are from another, would they?” He smiled at them over the edge of his cup before taking another sip.

"That will be fine, Hiriam." Evana said with a charming smile. She offered Yseult a glare that said 'stop helping'. "Take the time you need and please, if you need our help with anything, don't hesitate to ask."

,,

Sorry it's so short, I couldn't think of any embellishments.

Ayato didn't spin around like people always do in movies, instead he turned slowly, his eyes narrowing as he looked at Conn, then his sister. He knew what she meant, and more than that he knew that the information she just shared would be gold for his own commander. He'd almost written this off as a pointless sideline to his mission, but this little girl could hand him the whole enchilada. Talk about a reversal. Still he knew she was far smarter than she let on, and likely if he were to enthusiastic, she'd ask for more. In truth she had little left to lose..

,,

"Can you give it to me, and tell me where I can find them?" he smiled. If she proved unwilling then he'd leave, just the fact he now knew what to look for was a start, but if she'd give him the gate code, well so much the better. His time would be well spent, helping them out. "No need to say it." he produced a small notepad and pen for writing, and offered it to her. "You can write it if you don't wish to say it.'

“No worries,” Hiriam assured Evana – and only Evana – with a smile. “I’ll reach out to you when I have information, and it shouldn’t take too long. Check in tomorrow afternoon, unless you want to tell me where to find you.”

,,

“No, we’ll be back tomorrow.” Evana smiled to take the sting from her words.

,,

“Very good. I can also find someone to guide you through their society, provide introductions, that sort of thing. However, it is likely that a guide would be a native of the society and therefore of questionable trustworthiness. If you’d like that option, I can provide – for a fee.” With that offer, it was time for polite farewells and they were back on the street.

,,

Ayato

The girl took the paper without hesitation. With sure strokes, she drew seven symbols and passed it back to him. “There you go!” she chirped. “Don’t suppose we could go with you to wherever you belong? Those people will still be after Conn.”

,,

Everyone

Bates took a breath of fresh night air. I am fucking ready for this night to be done. Leave this shithole and never come back. Clearing his throat and the last of the cobwebs from his brain, he triggered the radio. “Anyone who can hear this, report in at your earliest convenience. Tell me if we have anything, people.”

Ayato nodded. "I will ask my boss. It is his call, but when this checks out." He held up the paper, "He may be more inclined to help you both out." He believe it was correct, and his words showed now doubt, then Bates sent out his own communication. "Speaking of.."

,,

He made sure no one else was nearby, then pulled the radio out. "I have two indigs with eyewitness intel. A slight mess was made. Where do you want to rendevous?"

"Copy that." Evana and the others were well on their way down the corridor. "I'm with Sgt. Shane and Sgt. Moreau. We have something, but nothing I want to discuss on a non-secure channel. Meet us at Pelanix, it's a nightspot about two blocks from the Gate, bring Nishima with you, lord knows he could some loosening up. We still need to look like we're here for a good time, not a gaggle of espionage agents."

,,

"One day and you already have the vice spots down?" Bates mused through the earpiece. His day was rough, but both parties having news meant that something could start going right... hopefully. "You never change Eve."

,,

"Wait until I tell you about the feverish lesbian sex I had earlier" She replied cooly.

,,

The was some strange interference that sounded like coughing, or possibly choking. Evana's smirk stretched from ear to ear. "Bates out."

Yseult snorted, amused by Bates' discomfort, while giving Evana a sidelong glance as they left Hiriam's. She had suspected the sexy captain didn't mind mixing pleasure with business, but hadn't expected her to be so equal opportunity about it - though wouldn't have been surprised if she could fake it really well. Where were you when I was fourteen, experimental, and locked up with two dozen other girls in gymnastics camp?

,,

The large woman shoved the nascent sapphic tendencies aside - regardless of how damn fuckable Evana was - when she had a great cock with a hot and strong man attached waiting for her. Yseult turned to Evana to make her excuse for why she was going to head to the Broken Coin instead of Pelanix when Inoue's voice floated over the communicator, her tone unusually firm for the rescued Lantean and carrying the inflection of rote memorization.

,,

"You should not be having sex if you or your lesbian have a fever, Evana. A fever means illness and sex when you are ill is stressful to the body and may prolong the illness, or you may contract your lesbian's illness. Illness is weakness."

,,

A look of wry consternation flickered across Yse's face as the radio clicked silent once more. "And that is being our public service announcement for the day, mes amis. I am wanting to hear all about the feverish lesbian sex, but me, I promised the man that led me to Hiriam to meet him afterwords, and he his this way, at the Broken Coin."

,,

Yseult jerked a thumb the towards the opposite side of the intersection they came to, eyes panning around to make sure nobody was trying to overhear. Though she tried to appear nonchalant, Evana and Shane could see the avid light in her icy blue eyes.

,,

"Cap, you think the two of you are enough to give Bates the sitrep while I see if I can dig up some HUMINT on these Belkans? Don't like the idea of relying on Hiriam for everything and want to keep my word. He's been... helpful so far. And I assure you, I will look like I am having a good time."

,,

Evana wasn't fooled, but on the other hand, she didn't like relying on one source for information either. And there was certainly potential in bedroom acrobatics. "Go ahead, but keep your radio close, in case the situation changes."

,,

"Naturally." Yseult nodded with a smirk, shrugging a muscular shoulder in an abbreviated salute, then strutted away towards the Broken Coin, nose poised to catch Kell's scent.

Curtis maintained a little smirk as Yseult broke off for whatever man-toy she had in mind, and glanced over to Evana. "Well, Inoae meant well. I suppose we'll save the mention of my gay sex for when we can see Bates' expression in person?"

,,

The two set off, through the crowds, and Curtis' arm wrapped around Evana's waist to continue the cover, and prevent any interruptions from admirers. 'We're taken and busy, thank you very much.'

,,

"That was quite interesting a meeting, wasn't it?"

Link to comment

"It was your sex, Curtis." Evana said calmly as she slithered through the crowds with her 'husband'. "Keep in mind, as a heterosexual male, I don't think you're admission to Bates will have the same measure of humor as my toying with him. Lord knows, It'd be an interesting expression nonetheless." Curtis noticed she didn't even touch base on the Inoe comment. There was something about that girl that rankled Evana's fur like nothing anyone had seen before.

,,

It was amazing the way she seemed to assimilate to the role. Hell, Curtis could have easily tricked himself into thinking he'd been married to Evana for years if his keen intellect wasn't constantly keeping him rooted in the reality of every situation. She was affectionate in subtle ways, treated him like they'd been together forever, and occasionally even squeezed his hand a little bit and offered him a loving smile. She was good. She was trained to lie, and Curtis knew it.

,,

Finally as she crossed through the sea of people all catering to one vice or another, they stood outside the meeting zone. Pelanix was a night club/bar for the younger hedonist crowd and they could hear the thumping electronic rhythm all the way outside. "Interesting isn't the way I'd put it. He's a middle aged man still living with his mother on a planet of drug crazed sexual deviants... pathetic, codependent, Oedipus complex... all those spring to mind, but 'interesting' isn't among them. However, I didn't come to judge him. If he comes through on his end, we'll be in his debt and the last thing I think we want is him as an enemy. Information brokers are a valuable commodity in the ass end of the universe."

Evana had seen Bates after a rough mission or two. It was unavailable that people cross paths in the StarGate program. It’s classified status meant that new people were rarely brought in, so the same people came around again and again. They’d even served together once before Atlantis, though the mission had been a milk run. However, she couldn’t remember seeing him look quite so rough before.

Their commander’s clothes were torn and dirty. One of the shoulders of his shirt had been torn across the seam, revealing a smooth brown swell of muscle. The look was somehow hot on him. It was just as well that Yseult wasn’t there because if she’d eyed him like a piece of meat, Evana wasn’t sure his temper would hold.

Inoae trailed a step behind and to his right, looking carefully blank and empty. Moira and a strange man walked behind her. Moira appeared haughty as normal, while the man was appraising him. It wasn’t a sexual stare though it was an intense one. Bates looked ready to chew through naquadah. "Report," he ordered as he came to a stop in front of them.

,,

Though Bates was in charge, it was Inoae who was getting all the attention from the group. Though her head was down and she looked like she had all the personality of a mannequin, there was something different about her. Her sheared-short hair had grown back, falling in silken waves down her back. More than that odd change, Inoae was far more sexually appealing. Where Evana radiated pure sexuality, the Lantan projected an aura of innocence. No doubt being locked in the jail had manifested some change in her.

Yseult
From the moment she stepped into the Broken Coin, she could smell Kell there, along with the hundred other scents common to a bar. The place was brightly lit, the small lamps aided by the flat, reflective disks embedded in the clay walls. It was populated by merchants, many who appeared to be conducting business in the busy bar.

“You must be Yseult.” The speaker was a tall, well-built woman with brown-tinted skin and long dark hair. She resembled Kell with her dark tones but Yseult didn’t think they were related by blood. “He’s upstairs and wanted me to show you the way.”

“Really now?” Yseult replied, arching a brow as she gave the woman a once-over. “And who might you be?”

“Ara. I’m from Kell’s planet.” Her expression twitched, as if she wanted to say something else but refrained. Putting her hands on her hips, she narrowed her eyes at the French Canadian. “You want me to take you up or what?”

Yseult gave the woman a one-sided smile, then a sharp nod. "Lead the way." As is I couldn't find him just upstairs. Yseult felt a twinge of wariness and adrenaline began to flow. It would be a pity of Kell was playing her, but she wasn't really concerned. She knew she could take him, him and the woman both.

Ara looked faintly disgusted as she gave Yseult a once-over herself. Turning, she walked a route through the tables to the stairs, and then up a flight and out the back of the building. A slight rise in the land had created a small hill and the pub merged into that hill, with a small wooden bridge connecting the two. The top of the earthen dome was blocked from her sight by a tent. Ara stopped in front of the cloth opening. “In there,” she said before turning and brushing past Yseult, leaving her in front of the big tent.

The soldier considered her options before shrugging and entering. Inside, a pool dominated the center of the room, steam rising from its depths. Kell and two other men lounged in the water; when she appeared in the doorway, Kell sat up and waved to her. “Yseult! I’m glad to see you. This is Tyre and Rakai. I thought you might enjoy their company as well as my own.” He grinned widely and waited for her reaction.

Evana gave Bates a puzzling look, complete with cocked eye brow and crossed arms as she rested her weight on one leg. "Christ, Bates, what the hell happened to you? You look like hammered sh-"

,,

"Just the usual." Bates cut her off. His tone was like his fuse, short seconds from being lit. "Inoe and I had a run in with some UVs. They jumped us, do the math. Travel tip, Eve, the assholes on this planet will arrest anyone who is part of a crime. That's where we've been, sitting in a damn holding cell."

,,

"Well, that wasn't in the brochure," Evana mocked Bates sarcasm with some of her own. She motioned to the man in tow. "Who's he?"

,,

"This is Kalen." The man stepped forward along with Bate's introduction and extended his hand. He admired her beauty with a silent appraisal which didn't really come as a shock to any of those assembled. Hell they were growing accustomed to it by now, and partially thankful they growing more and more used to it. "He posted our bail got us freed."

,,

Evana smiled that coy smile of hers, the one that was hard to tell is she was a grateful woman, or a smiling viper. "Well, I suppose we owe you a thank you." Without missing another beat however she looked to Bates as Kalen let go of her hand.

,,

"We met with a man named Hiriam..." She began and relayed the entire days events (she excluded the feverish lesbian sex, Bates needed some time to relax) that led up to the meeting, the contents of the meeting itself, and it's conclusion. "...so that's all we have at the moment, at least until we hear back from our source. Sergeant Moreau is meeting with one of her sources, but you knew that."

,,

"In the mean time," She looked to Bates and took his arm. There was genuine sympathy in her motives. She enjoyed messing with Bates, like she did everyone, but pushing him too far or kicking him while he was down just wasn't her style. Unless it was Moira... there was something about pushing the Doctor's buttons that gave the Ice Queen a tingle in her happy places. "Why don't we discuss what we need to discuss while your sit down and relax a bit. C'mon sweetie, you've had a crap day. Some food and some beverages and we can all swap stories and get acquainted."

,,

While she noticed the distinct changes in Inoe's appearance Evana didn't pay the Lantean girl any mind. Evana considered her more of a liability than an asset. Why they continued to let her tag a long was beyond her, but people felt she was necessary.

Curtis noted the talking and the details of the changed group around him. Apparently, Inoae was more attractive, but that did not make much of an impression on Curtis still. An attractive innocent waif was still a waif - and despite her skills already demonstrated, her personality and lack of presence more than counterbalanced the rest in Curtis' mind still.

,,

There was the question though of the companion of Moira's the friendly bail giver. Friendly did not equal cleared for the secrets the team was trying to protect. Curtis cocked his head while addressing Bates. "So, is Kalen staying with us for....?"

,,

"He'll be coming back with us." Bates grunted, unappreciative of the thought but resigned to it. Curtis observed that but given the mood of his commanding officer and past expressions of when pressed too much, left it there. "We had far better luck, on many accounts."

Ayato looked at the two youths. I have to go and meet my comrades. I'll explain your situation, and with luck I can get you abit better reward than not getting broken by those two thugs. Do you have someplace near the gate where you can stay without difficulty?"

,,

He looked around having put the radio away, and began walking back to the gate, the three of them a dingy trio few would ever give another notice. They drew near to the bar, as the two had yet to tell him anything. They could wait outside, he doubted they'd be allowed inside.

A cool smirk crossed Yseult's lips at the sight of Kell and his two companions lounging in the pool, wariness sharpening her senses to hyper acuteness. She grew aware of everything around her, practically giving her eyes in the back of her head. She could hear Ara at the base of the hill, muttering.

,,

She eyed the three men boldly, instinctively calculating ways to disable them and escape routes for dozens of potential scenarios, but Yseult sensed no immediate danger from the men. Indeed, all she could smell coming off the three of them was a vigorous health she associated with Kell and very active sexual interest.

,,

Her smile widened as she stripped, giving the men a good look at her hard muscled and well curved body before slipping into the pool with them. She knew she was sexually aggressive, but she had never considered herself a slut.

,,

But with her physical changes, her appetites seemed to have increased, while the ability of men to satisfy some of them have decreased. Kell was the best lover she had had since becoming a super-soldier, and bringing her two more playthings just raised his esteem in her eyes. She was going to enjoy exhausting the lot of them into submission.

,,

"You're so thoughtful," Yseult purred as she settled in the steamy water across from the men, arms spread along the lip of the pool and legs stretched out to tangle with theirs. "You point me towards Hiriam which proved to be helpful and now you bring me two more gifts to play with." Yseult quirked a dark brow. "All I need now is to know about the Belkans."

,,

Kell gave the powerful looking woman an expression of feigned affront, but his lips were curved in a teasing grin. "What? Three Satedans not enough for you?"

,,

Yseult laughed out loud, rich and low, then crossed the pool in a flash, hardly impeded by the mass of water, giving Kell a fierce kiss. Her strong hands below the surface of the water found Kell and one of his friends at least, Tyre or Rakai, were already ready for her. Yseult hadn't heard of Satedans before, but she already starting to really enjoy there company.

,,

"The question is being, am I too much for three Satedans?"

“We can hide near the gate.” The girl grinned at him, grabbing her brother’s hand and tugging him away from her. Together, the two disappeared into the crowd before Ayato could clarify that wasn’t exactly what he’d meant.

,,

Inside the bar, his team was stupidly easy to find. He just located the nearest male and followed their gaze. It lead him right to Evana… who was hugging Curtis close. That gave Ayato a moment of pause. Then he saw Inoae, somehow looking more wholesome than before, and with longer hair than she’d had this morning. Last, a strange man stood next to Moira, his long dark gray hair hanging over his shoulders, wearing something that Ayato could only describe as a the Pegusus Galaxy’s version of a suit.

,,

Only his team.

,,

“Nishima. Good to see you. What did you find out?” Bates asked as soon as he spotted the other man. “And where the hell is Moreau?”

"Working a contact," Curtis replied, with a trace of the irony in his expression. Bates caught onto it immediately, like a hound waiting for a rabbit to maul. Curtis shrugged at that questioning, somewhat annoyed gaze. "Evana cleared it. And it has been a valid information gathering tactic, I can personally attest."

,,

Bates locked up mentally as soon as he pulled up the implications of that word. "Right..."

,,

Curtis pressed on with a sudden warning smile. "And for completeness, sir - Evana did the wife, I the husband."

,,

Whatever Bates was to say died with a sudden, rather choking like sound.

,,

"Would you like to hear the product of our labors, Bates?"

Bates looked shocked and then horrified for a split second before his face resettled into its usual lines of testosterone-fueled rage. “I don’t need the details. Particularly those details.” Bates could have lived his whole life without knowing that Shane took it up the ass.

,,

“Nishima. Please, please, please report.”

Bates stared at Shane for a long beat, then very deliberately turned his attention to Evana. His expression said it all: he was going to ignore the annoying civilian in favor of the fellow soldier. He didn’t even ask for the report from her – he knew that he’d get it because she was a professional.

,,

He’d even thank her for it.

As Ayato approached Evana beamed the Asian man a sweet smile. "Captain." She said politely. "Welcome to Captain Bates's table. You see he's like Florida for fun... it all comes to him to die." Her greeting was cut short by Bates and Curtis's bickering.

,,

"Curtis, darling," Evana broke in with the her usual coo in her voice. "We've yet to really learn anything."

,,

A part of Bates wondered how she could so easily assimilate the role of Curtis's wife and pull it off like they'd been in love for years while the other part wondered why he didn't volunteer for the couples role while a third part of him probably wouldn't be in service fr awhile after thinking of Shane slapping naked flesh with another man. If Bates was ever looking for a cure to getting Captain Evana out of his head... he just hit pay dirt. She made her curves fit against his perfectly and the way she never left his lap and constantly flirted with his hair of stroked his neck about his collar was enough to distract him from the fact that she was talking. Thankfully he was too high on rage to be distracted, but jealously was a negative emotion and he was feeling that instead. Damn eggheads always get the hotties... it was like some twisted curse of the universe.

,,

Her attention turned to Bates after she concluded yet another moment of unnecessary fawning over her 'soulmate'. "It is as I described Captain. We're to meet up with our contact tomorrow, but as of now we're on the big, boring, idle list."

Ayato looked to his teammates and then to Bates. "I had little success initially, and admit I agreed to help the only local who seemingly took interest in me. This lead to an incident in a bar and gambling hall, but if the intel is genuine, worth the backlash. The local witnessed some Belkins posing as Farmers looking for Atlantis, and even provided their gate code."

,,

"They were even kind enough to provide the Gate code in hardcopy. Afterwards, I was asked by her if she and the sibling I rescued could be taken with us, as they're likely going to be in trouble after the incident that I escalated. I explained that the call wasn't mine, but I'd at least ask you if such a thing would be possible."

,,

The entire time he spoke he kept his voice low enough so only those within the team could hear.

“Sure, let’s just bring everyone back… home.” Bates’s sarcasm wasn’t just evident, it was omnipresent in his words. With effort, he visually reined himself back in. “How much trouble are we talking?”

,,

Ayato replied, “Lethal, at least to the brother.”

,,

“I guess if we’re taking a scholar, what’s two refugees?” Bates didn’t seem to expect an answer to his question. “If we have the gate address, let’s head home. Weir can sort out their status once we get there. We need to collect Moreau. Evana, Shane, go grab her.”

,,

“She’s working a contact,” Shane repeated.

,,

“I don’t care. Get her. We’re blowing his hell hole.” Bates started to rise. “On second thought, I don’t want anyone jumped. Everyone goes to get Moreau – together.” Yeah, Leon… that should be awesome.

Moira let out a breath of relief. She didn't envy Bates, having to go back to Weir without any real information. But sticking around to try and find out more seemed like a poor idea, since they seem to have made more than one set of potential enemies on the planet already. Perhaps they could return when things died down, but for now getting off-planet as soon as possible seemed like an excellent suggestion.

,,

"I noticed Yseult hasn't been in contact. You said she's working a source. Did she mention where we could find her?" Like the others, she kept her voice pitched low so as not to be overheard.

"Yes," Curtis calmly assured Moira. "We know where she said she'd be. The real issue will be putting up with her temper when we have to roust her from her contact's company." At Bates' look, still fueled by distrust of Curtis' homosexual bedroom acrobatics, Curtis sighed. "As I said, valid information gathering tactic. As for the location, she told us she'd be at the Broken Coin."

"She's also wearing an ear piece communicator like the rest of us." Evana said dryly. No one was sure of she was just being a bitch to Moira (which was not uncommon) or if she was just in the mood to point out the obvious. "Where she is is of little relevance, someone simply call her and tell her to get her buns of steel to the portal. We're heading out soon."

,,

She glanced at Bates, it was his mission after all. "In the mean time, I'm hungry... anyone else hungry?"

Moira gazed back at Evana cooly, her expression unruffled by the blue-haired siren's cattiness. "Yes, that's an excellent idea, Evana. Surely if someone - especially someone of importance, like Leon here - were to ask Yseult to check in, along with all the rest of us, she would respond promptly via her ear piece communicator. How silly of me. Except... wait. We already did that, and everyone responded, except for Yseult. But just in case, let's check."

,,

She reached up and touched the communicator lightly, activating it, and in that same cool, sarcastic tone of voice. "Yseult? Yseult, if you're there could you check in please?" She waited a moment, but the silence stretched in all their earpieces. She continued after a brief pause, still directing her words for Yseult, but her gaze implied that her sarcasm response was all for Evana. "Hello? Steel Buns? Are you there? No? Well then."

,,

She released the communicator, her lips pursed slightly. "Shall we follow Leon's suggestion and head to the Broken Coin?" Her implication that Evana was defying a direct order was clear to those at the table, though the entire time her voice had remained low and smooth. "Or would you prefer snackies first, Evana?"
