Okay, this is not what I completely like, but I had to do with what I got. Here's my character's stats. I wonder if I did anything wrong, or any options or information that might prove useful tell me. Also forgive me for posting it here since I did not see an o.o.c. for it.

Concept: Originally an ageless or immortal soldier that manipulated machines.

Powers: Controls and animates machines.

Concept: Pioneer as well as Warrior (Is that even doable?)

Pioneer due to his desire to invent as well as built new things. Warrior due to him having to use those skills in various military areas.

I lost my Players Guide about ten years ago, but I dimly recall an option for Limitations on powers. Is that right or am I confusing it with MnM? I like the idea that Slither has a Stun version of Poison, but only if she kisses someone. A cheaper power would be nice, but mostly I just like the idea.

No, we're not waiting for anything. People can post now; I would have but I've been busy/distracted for the last week (end of session at work and the new miracle software still works for crap--they actually approved me for overtime). The next week at work is probably going to be a long week, so I'm going to try but make no promises.

Huh...I was reading Dave's comment in the IE general ooc about A&A being a more team-centered, goal-oriented setting (which is what I like) and...I realized my Tesla Golem concept I have been adapting for CN could actually work GREAT in this time/setting.

I also like that the NPs are more limited here...when they get too unlimited it starts to feel like they don't even matter. Conversely, when I have less points than I would like, it forces me to get creative and really stick my theme.

Speaking of which: are the IE rules for NP point discounts for in-theme powers in effect for this? The OP did not specify...

Well I just realized that the primary picture I had been wanting to use for my character had a distinctively Art Deco style to it that just really works when taken in the context of A&A.

That and I like that the power level is capped below ludicrous here.

Anywho, here's an idea I had to kick off the English branch of this shindig.

So, we're starting the clock off with Hitler about to grind through France if I recall correctly. So from there, we could play out the miracle of Dunkirk scenario. Frontline Dynamics keeping Germans off the evacuating troops, Homeguard Dynamics helping with logistics, and win or lose, we wrap it up with a debriefing to begin the socialization process. I don't know if that work or if people would want to do that, but it could provide real starting sparks.

Could work, we'll just need some organization for the thread, unfortunately we'd need someone to run the scenario since combat WILL happen for some of us involved. That and the Females in this game would be relegated to staying as far from the combat as possible. At least that is what i have been told time and time again.

Honestly, just tell that story, guys. No one needs to run it for you; imagine what little (or big) piece of the war your PC is touching and write that. This is open world; people can offer to run things but its supposed to be cooperative fiction.

That said, if you're feeling lost, write a one-sentence summary of what you'd like to do. "Envoy faces off with a regiment of Germans, playing cat and mouse with their dynamic to give her allies a chance to slip back out of enemy territory." Then break that into three parts: "1) Envoy receives the orders to rescue the Dutch regiment trapped by the Krauts. 2) She finds the Dutch just as the Krauts do, and engages them to allow the Dutch to flee. 3) She fights a German Dynamic by the name of White Iron, driving him and his non-dynamic brethren home." Break each of those lines down 1 to 6 more times, and you have an outline for a story. With that outline, go to town writing. :D

June: Yes, women will be encouraged to stay far from battle. That said, the women who aren't enlisted have no reason to do as they're told. Heck, even the enlisted women can tell their superiors, "Stop being a sexist brick, I can shoot lightning from my hands! You need me out there!" She has the power to tell them that she's going to be out there fighting, and there's not much they can do to stop her unless they want to have another Dynamic sit on her. Even Cpt. America disobeyed orders to liberate a prison full of Allies in the movie. Yes, this is a sexist era in history, but this is a fantasy game. If you want to battle the Germans AND sexism, lead the charge, sista!

So some realism is going out the window?

Because my train of thought here is that if she goes off on her own she might be considered a threat to the allied effort and summarily put in prison. That and having a Dynamic potentially getting captured for being stupid behind enemy lines might double allied efforts to keep Dynamics not meant for combat or are showing signs of being a loose cannon well... out of combat.

June, remember that women were doing men's jobs, particularly in the US where women did factory jobs because the men were at war. If you want to have June consent to arrest (and she'd almost have to agree to it), then fight for her right to be in the war, it could be interesting.

But I'm not going to demand that your character, or any female character, do that. It's totally up to you if some general wants to make an example of you. I'm not going to limit your options. If you want the worst she has to deal with is men coddling her, then that's what she'll deal with. Those kinds of stories can be fun, but I'm not interested in limiting you guys that much. I'd rather you tell stories.
