WANKER
A recent thread on the in-character forum made me think about their names. What happens if I switch the names of Utopia and Proteus?Utopia meaning nowhere would be a good name for Proteus.Proteus was a shapeshifter I believe, making the name possible to use for Utopia in its role of changing the world. Doesn't really work though, does it? But there is another greek mythologic character by the close name of Prometheus, who stole the fire from the gods and gave it to the humans. He symbolizes enlightenment and help but also insubordination and punishment (as Zeus wasn't too pleased with him after his deed).I can see something similar happen to Utopia, helping people and in the end taking a big punishment for it... Sakurako Hino
Makes sense. Perhaps this was a hidden meaning to the game's canon? Hints on what is to come and what is coming?
Kirby1024
I always thought that one of the more symbolic organisation names was Project Utopia, because as anyone knows, a Utopia is theoretical - it can never happen in real life. The ultimate example of a noble aim doomed to fail...Although, more interesting are Projects Pandorra and Tantalus. Pandorra I recall from Greek/Roman mythology as the girl who opened the box, but I'm having trouble with the symbolism. Anyone?
WANKER
Right now all I can come up with is Tartarus which is the hell where most of the titans are imprisoned. Perhaps Tantalus is another name for Tartarus. Doesn't make sense though. I will look it up.
