Aberrant: Infinite Earth - Cosmos Nova - [CN-plot] The Undernight

Kei clears the vision of the bloody pulp from her head.

"Is there any evidence of a eruption of one or both individuals at that location?"

She adjusts her vest as she takes a closer look at the picture.

"Do we... have anyone inbound with more detective - aspect skills inbound? Otherwise I and my Colleague are... stumped."

"What do you guys think?" Kei says, turning to the others present.

"I think we're going to need DNA off the remains." Rob's voice was sober, as was the intent look in his soft brown eyes as he opened the folder that lay on the table before him. His tanned face was a little pale, but he stared down the crime scene photos in all their horrible colour, forcing himself to look. "DNA, fingerprints, blood work... everything." He looked up at Maier. "Your people are already on that?" The German Fed nodded, and Rob looked down at the photos again, his eyes far away.

"Karrie. I need you to check out the Q-Sat, see if there's any logs of an eruption-scale event in the area in the last week." Karrie nodded and went for her laptop. Rob seemed unusually intense, like this was personal for him. His voice was quiet, measured, and totally un-Rob-like. "This is the only event like this you've had?" he looked at Maier again, who nodded. "It looks like a warning to me." he mused.

"Warning?" Kei asked. "Like 'Keep Out?'" Rob nodded, his eyes never leaving the glossy prints.

"It's rage, or a demonstration of power. They were torn apart. Even a superstrong nova doesn't kill like that unless the method of the kill is the entire point. 'I can do this to you', is what our boy is saying. Or girl." he stated in that same soft voice. Dark eyes looked up once more. "Detective Maier, I need to know if the bodies were alive or dead before they were dismembered."

Supreme started to snap Questions out loud as what Rob said made a lot of sense to him.

Supreme looked at Detective Hans Maier “ if I may can I see the autopsy report.”

“ and have you done a complete biologic and chemical break down if not I need to see the scene and need these pieces of equipment” Supreme told the detective.

Supreme Looked at Karrie “ you have a Q-detector? can you adjusted it to pick up Quantum resistance.

Since they walked thru the wall I would like to see if there is a trace from the wall that will gives us a better time of death.

“ Detective Maier how certain they were dead as they work thru the wall” Supreme asked.

“ Do you know were they started from. We might have to find their path and walked it.” as Supreme looked at the rest of the group .

Looking at Rob and Kei

“Does DSA Data banks Have any powers that can animate the dead or Dominate the victim so much that they are dead and don't know it” asked Supreme hoping it would be this easy but his gut feeling it wouldn’t be.

“ Kei how good is your vision “ inquired Supreme.

“ Rob you now if this was done by a nova we are being watch in all likelihood” whisper Supreme so the Baseline couldn't here.

Kei blinked. "It's not possible to raise the dead, or even to speak with them, Supreme... this isn't Dungeons and Dragons." She sighed... Resigning herself to the fact that the coming age of miracles that Novas could bring to the world won't include bringing others back from the dead.

"But my vision is... about as good as a microscope and can see pretty much the entire electromagnetic spectrum. For instance I can see the signals everyone's cell phones or computer tablets and things, just as easily as I can see in the infrared or ultraviolet spectrum... or x-rays... well... I see them."

She started feeling useful in this investigation. "What are you proposing?"

Supreme looked at Kei “ This is only theoretical now, if a nova seized control over the motor function you can keep the body moving even if the victim is technically dead all is required is electrical impulse to the muscle to make it move. That why it is imported to get those reports” Supreme responded.

“ If we are lucky there is a secret passage so we can backtrack their path.”

Supreme looked Kei in the eyes.

“ What I need is the area examined for every thing not them. if they were ripped apart in the room we need skin cells, hair , anything that would let us know what we are up against.”

“Can you do it? It is not doing to be pretty. ” supreme inquired.

“Detective I need complete records of everyone that went in and out of the room and who handle the bodies.” said supreme

“ if anyone has any other ideas now is a good time to speak so we can get going crossing out the wrong ones” supreme spoke to the gathering of Nova's

Surpreme without looking up " 5 min is the time limited to revieved the dead aslong as the conditions are right. Novas can be longer" Supreme causally told Kei as he review the picture of the scene

“DNA should be here in the next four hours. Some of the forensics are already here, and they are in the folders in front of you. The rest will be done as soon as possible; we have given the focus of the BKA’s labs to this case.”

“Rob, there are no eruption-level quantum surges. Supreme, this system isn’t so sensitive that it could pick up traces of quantum use. And it’s a satellite, so it’s not something we can just quirk a bit. If we had a spare Geiger counter, I might be able to make a fast-and-dirty quantum counter, though.” Karrie’s voice was distracted as she thought; it was like hearing the Bat-mobile’s turbines coming to speed. “And no, I’ve never heard of the raw manipulation of dead matter. I hope I get to study this guy or girl and see what they can do.”

“Supreme, autopsy reports are here.” Maier passed them out to each person. Karrie flipped hers open then shut it and set it aside. “The men were dead; the blood in the footprints was definitely clotted. The fingerprints and impressions of the carried body parts were caused by the two dead men.”

“My gloves can also measure things, as well as enhance them on the microscopic level. So I can look too.” Karrie didn’t seem entirely pleased to offer her gloves but she didn’t retract her offer.

“The bodies have been moved. We’ve examined the room thoroughly and have collected evidence.” Maier’s voice was soft. “All of that information is in the reports. Whatever is left is something we missed, so I’d appreciate a set of nova eyes on it.” A woman in forensic overalls entered and spoke in German to Maier. The man nodded; as she left Maier told the novas, “The Department 0 detective has completed her profile of the criminal we’re dealing with here. She’ll be coming to present it.”

If you speak German, then Maier reported what he was told and what he said accurately.

Kamiko spends 2 QP to activate "Deductive Prodigy" Pretercognition. 10d, last 5 mega

Kamiko *rolls* 10d10: 4+4+4+6+8+9+9+2+9+5: 60

[Kamiko] 3:35 am: Witnessed?

[Carver] 3:36 am: Arr.

[Kamiko] 3:36 am: 6 Sux.

[Kamiko] 3:36 am: Which means that...

[Carver] 3:37 am: She can definitely confirm everything that has been said, to date. Beyond that, there's not much more in the room beyond the

hope of finding some DNA evidence.

[Kamiko] 3:37 am: She will know after I let people get posts in, she will have enough information to know what happened in that room up to 10

years prior.

[Carver] 3:37 am: All that she's been told is collaborated by the data.

[Kamiko] 3:38 am: Yeah, the DNA is the thing isn't it.

What is first seen coming around a corner at first seemed like a ordinary lab technician until the silhouette stepped into the light. She spoke perfect German to the CSI agents nearby. "Okay, I want no one moving around alone unless you have two armed escorts. This is big, and I'm going to fill the Superhuman assets on site."

When she looks up to the others she presents to the rest of the crowd something they have never seen before. She wasn't human. Not anymore. She was in her terms a "Homo Felis Novus". Her tail swayed a bit, moving about the coattails of her drab grey and creme raincoat with brown shoulder epaulets which covered a rather sharp business suit. She had rubber gloves on, as well as a special vinyl sleeve for her tail. There were specks of blood on her sleeves, and much more on her gloves and the yellow rain-boots she had on.

She started to speak in a clear, British English.

"Alright everyone, since there is a larger number of English speakers here than other languages I will speak in this language to better facilitate my assessment of this current matter."

"I am Naomi Minami. I'm not that well known yet, and I am glad I am not. I'm not in this for the fame. I'm here to solve a crime. That crime... is indeed murder. The two bodies have been... rather thoroughly been savaged. From what I can gather, the damage done looked more like a offensive strike than a simple thrill-killing. What makes this lead to my profile is as follows.

What I am suspecting is that from how the damage was done, the attacker was protecting something. This is a possible outcome because there have been other urban explorers in the area, passing through the same zone, and not have been attacked. It is my opinion that the killer or possibly killers are protecting something highly valuable. The only thing I can think of that important to an attacker is if that spot is the lair of the killer or killers and that facility is, perhaps a nest of some sort.

This attacker or attackers more than likely aren't very intelligent, perhaps possessing a animal-level intellect. They also left the... remains in a fashion that others would see to avoid the area. As a warning.

Needless to say, whoever is responsible cannot be bargained with or negotiated with. They in the plural or singular are fully capable of this again, and with greater violence possibly."

She carefully takes her gloves off and places them in a bio-hazard bag nearby, then pulls out a fresh pair. "If this is a pair or group, there is only one real aggressor. If this is singular, it's either a hostile young male or a female that is protecting their young."

She interweaves her fingers in front of her. "That is my analysis."

She sees a untouched bottle of milk. "Ooh milk!" She says with a grin and grabs it. Popping it open. "Helps me think."

Supreme looked at Naomi " How do you want to be address”

“Once Kei and karrie finished examining the site” supreme said “ We will have more information to go on.”

“ you said Animal-level intelligence that usually means some of the body parts are eaten.”

“also I can not think of any animals that move the body to other location to scare other. So it seem to be human with high instinct or a animal with human-level intelligence if it is protecting a nest.”

Supreme answer while going over the reports.

Supreme looked up at the Detective “ I need a DNA sequence here, we can't afford to wait for labs to send it back and forward. If possible we need one set up here. ”

“ I can reconstruct the attacker if we can get some DNA to work with.” Supreme looked at the group.

Supreme looked at Kei and Karrie “ so who wants the bodies and who wants the room”

Supreme eyes glimmer like a kids at Christmas while watching their faces.

“ I would have like to get a air sample but that is not possible now” Supreme spreed all the reports around him as he had Kitty recorded the information.

Supreme cocked his head at Karrie

“ you wouldn’t have a portable DNA Scanner on you? “ as Supreme looked at Karrie many pockets.

Supreme hoped the Girl- cat was right about it being a human with animal-level intelligence.

But he think she miss something because it cause the corpse to walk away from the nest.

Most animal will kill away from the nest or hide the corpse this was place were it can be found.

So maybe both Rob and Naomi are right. The truth will be found regardless.

"Whoa, slow down Supreme." Naomi said in Japanese. "There are animals with a bit more cunning than you realize. Some purposely kill to defend their territory, and leave some form of marking behind."

"Also, Supreme, need I remind you that I am taking care of the evidence here. I need you to help compile it and provide that information for us to handle. Thing is, whatever is there, is still there. It's not a matter of reconstruction it will be a matter of dealing with it. That is why I called Kei to this scene as well as Nathaniel. They have some combat skill... Kei herself has taken out an entire Somali Pirate cell on her own. As for Rob, he is very talented as well. To be honest though I feel we need someone watching Karrie."

Kei smirked at that.

"Now..." Naomi stated in english once more. "...It has to be stated we are beyond evidence collection at this point, There is a threat here where those people were killed. One that no law seems to hold sway over. If whatever fiend this is can be contained that would help. If not, then we would have no other choice in the matter now, would we?"

She adjusts her coat. One of the officers brings over a yellow bag. "Now if you excuse me for a moment, I feel the threat level of this situation has gone up, if you need preparations, if I were you, I would take them. I am taking such necessary precautions now."

She heads behind a pile of boxes, but before she does... "Please, no peeking. I'm just putting some body armor on... Should take only a minute."

Nate turned his back to the feline nova out of respect for her privacy although he knew that privacy among such a group would be an illusion only, his own 360 degree vision being only one example. He wasn't deliberately peeking as she changed into body armor, but then covering his eyes wouldn't exactly do any good. He did however, try to remain alert and focused on things other than the cat-nova.

Once the big brain types had arrived it hadn't taken too much of his own nova brain to realize that he was there not for his deductive skills, but to get between danger and the slightly squishier novas. He had been quiet until now still a little embarrassed over the Atlantic cruise on Conner's yacht. The other reason being that he was interfacing with his computer researching to see if any of his nova files might suggest a culprit. He couldn't be sure of course, but he didn't think this was the work of any of the refugees, they were all mostly watched too closely for something like this, and why would they start now after more than five years? No, it was much more likely that this was the result of a native nova that had erupted since the arrival.

It was a shame he had been so distracted he thought as he logged off his network connection, he had let a couple very good opportunities pass for some good one-liners, especially after Supreme had quoted the Sith code and Karrie had invited him to force choke Rob. He still blushed a little remembering the party and kept his mouth shut waiting for the cat to don her armor... and wasn't that just a strange thing.

Supreme blinked

" No problem if you in charge so be it" responded Supreme . There was nearly audible reduction in noise as he shifted mental modes.

Supreme collected the reports and place them on the table no longer worried about the case.

Beyond the collection point she said.

Supreme just smile to himself. Then she has all the information because what they have don't tell them anything so she must have more then the detective showed them.

Supreme kicked himself mentally for getting work up over this.

The answer was simple Govt project.

Compile it she told him not likely thought Supreme not enough to do anything with.

But he will help keep the rest alive if he could.

Still he does not want to be left in the same room with Coyote he did not like the look in her eyes as she sneaks looks at his hair.

Yep this was going to be fun thought Supreme

Let go and hunt something that animates matter. desolidify walls and what else and hope it only one And it cant hurt us in a confined space, on it home turf. Nope no problem here.

"Supreme, my gloves will suffice to provide a quick DNA scan." Maier blinked as for the first time he realized what kind of people he was dealing with here. His lab would take at least forty-eight hours to produce results, while this woman was implying instantaneous results with her technology. "My computer can't reconstruct something, but if you can, that's a great idea. Then we'll know what we're dealing with before we go in to fight it. And we might be dealing with something that has low-level human intelligence while being forced to follow certain instincts. There is one animal that will make displays of corpses as warnings or trophies. Homo Sapiens."

"Alright, I think we need to establish a ground-rule here. No talking in a language that some of us don't know, especially when I can hear my name and know you're talking about me." Karrie was actually angry - not enraged, but truly aggravated that the cat-woman was talking about her. "I mean, if you're making fun of me, I want to hear too. But more than that, every time you speak in Japanese or Korean or pig Latin or whatever that was, you cut those of us who don't speak the language out of the loop. And if we're supposed to be here to help you guys by sharing information and ideas, then that is the most retarded thing you could possibly do!

"And if you're claiming to be in charge - I believe that Maier's in charge. Also, you'll get a lot more cooperation from me - my best work, so to speak - if you don't engage in jurisdictional pissing matches." Karrie's dark eyes were glittering with rage. "Are we here to help find a murder or to play games?"

"Enough." Maier raised a hand. "English only, please, everyone. If we're going to fight over this, then I will settle it. This is a BKA matter, and you are here because we need your help. No one member of this group will be able to solely claim credit for this arrest. We will all share that."

"So what did you say, Naomi Minami?" Karrie asked bluntly. "Come on, share with the class."

Supreme smiled at Coyote outburst.

He liked Coyote passion.

“ Sorry Coyote it was all my fault I am just here as a favor I had no right to request anything from you. You are DSA and Department 0” looking at Naomi as he said to the last.

Trying to defuse the tension for the Detective.

“ I always give 200% in what I do so I can be overbearing some times” reply to the Detective as he bow to him as a apology.

“ If you want to see what we are looking for check the bodies for foreign DNA and the room, so I can compare it and give me a little time I can have 3D image of what you are looking for. “ Supreme told Coyote.

Kitty meanwhile ran all the information thru her processors. Cataloging,Organizing, running the numbers so Supreme can access the information as he needed it. When he need it.

Maybe he will let her hack into DSA main database afterword. As a present.

She wanted to know more about Telluris.

Naomi peeked up from over her boxes, speaking in her British English. She had a look of contrite apology. "Umm... I meant no insult. I am sorry." Her ears were depressed. "I was only telling my colleague Supreme to slow it down. Everyone has a part to play here, and that Kei is indeed one of our bodyguards, Rob is pretty capable himself, Nate as well, and we should do our best to make sure those of us that aren't fighters like myself and you, Karrie, need protection."

She steps out wearing a loose-fitting white bodysuit with red trim. She has a similarly marked helmet under her arms. "Now, as for me... it is a bad habit to talk to somoene directly in their language. As I am unable to speak the language of your culture, Dinah-Sensei, please accept my apology. I meant no insult in my actions. It was only to facilitate understanding between I and Supreme. It was inefficient and rude particularly since it involved others in our conversation." She says with a polite bow. She was honestly sorry for that, and for anyone who knows the body language of a cat, it showed.

"So now that that particular setback has been corrected, it is obvious that we may be shifting from a discovery mode to a confrontation mode in regards to this current crisis and this killer or killers."

"We need to work as a team playing to our strengths. Maier is correct that this matter is a German matter, but we should figure out a role to play, and I personally feel once we can get on the table what our plan with this is, we can coordinate a effort to bring some sort of closure to this case."

Kei snorted, feeling she's been drafted to be the babysitter for the brains.

"So... let me get this straight... some homicidal freak of nature is killing urban explorers to simply make a point to stay the hell way from it's turf?"

She stands up looking at the information. "What if it decides to change it's "turf" and head downtown?"

"I personally am interested in taking decisive action."

"If necessary, yes." Naomi said. In her one year as a Nova she's seen much, and more than she bargained for.

"Telluris, what I see is you can support your colleague, Karrie. You already have a synergy with each other."

"Kei, you and Nathaniel would be the most likely pairing for the second team."

"I would actually prefer to team with Supreme. Our minds and abilities would mesh best."

"We should pair up and stick to it for our own safety. May can coordinate with the police and with Detective Maier."

"That is what I am seeing and thinking for a plan. I only offer this as a potential operating procedure. I don't think we need a leader in this, we answer to the Detective on this case. We're only here to assist his efforts."

Supreme closed his eyes as he slowed his breath to the point it stopped .

Supreme loved this part he reached out to the void in side of him.

Unlike most times he did not grab the pulsing blue sphere but gentle place his hands over it so he could sense others,

Novas, nuclear reactors, cyclotrons he loved sensing them with his mind like the masters of old .

He expanded his zone of awareness out to 50 meters, if there is another nova in the area he should sense them.

Supreme decided to do what he can to help the detective and wait to see what Coyote says on the matter.

Coyote nodded to Supreme. “Anything you can do to help would be appreciated. I think the more data we have, the better it’ll be when we have to face this thing.”

When Naomi spoke, Coyote seemed to visibly relax. Coyotes eat housecats so remember not to bite too hard while you have to work with her. “Thanks. We do need to work as a team. I appreciate you saying that.”

Supreme hadn’t sensed anyone other than them within the fifty meters.

“The teams are fine, but we should inspect the room and see what further clues we can find.” Karrie’s eyes sparkled more but this time with eagerness. “Then see what’s behind that wall.”

Naomi clapped her hands. "Great! I love field work!" She actually lets off a little meow... uncannily like a true domestic cat's meow. Naomi covers her mouth, letting off a gasp. "I... did it again... didn't I?"

Her ears lower in embarrassment, and her tail droops.

"Umm... if there is any new evidence I may... be able to piece together more past events from them. I... sort of have a deductive talent for looking into the past. Some call it postcognition."

She blinked. "But if we go to see what is behind the wall... we're going to need the best firepower we can have at the ready."

She puts on the helmet to her suit, and it makes something like the sound of a seal closing and pressurizing. But she opens the front visor. "Ready when you are, everyone."

May looked to Kei. "You be careful with them, Kei. Don't let them out of your sight."

Naomi walks over to Supreme, some concern on her face. Some of the old schoolteacher within her came out. "Hey... I... Just need to ask... something bothering you? You're doing fine. You know the rest of us are here to take off some of the pressure, if that is what it is."

She smiles, putting a friendly hand on Supreme's shoulders. "You are not alone. No man should be an island."

Supreme looked at Naomi “ In the end you can only count on yourself”

“ so enjoy your friends while you can” Supreme told Naomi while removing her hand gently.

“Kitty start medical protocol 1-2a3 allot 50 tb to parameters. Back up all existing files encase of catastrophic failure” Supreme talked to his wrist comp

“ we will started with a basic Genetic sequencer and modify it from there.”

Supreme spoke then looked at Coyote “ every thing will be up and running as soon as you bring the DNA”

Supreme keep himself in check.

But the excitement was building he could not resist a challenge as a baseline could not stop breathing without dying.

Meanwhile there was work to do and a killer or killers to find.

Supreme let slip a small smile because of working with Coyote.

he was going to see how smart she was.

This was going to be fun as long as he keep his hair away from her that is .

But first Work then play time.

It took only a split second to get his thoughts in line but to him that was forever.

He's enjoying this Rob thought to himself with a sinking feeling in the pit of his stomach as he watched the other novas, but mainly Supreme, swinging into action. Son of a bitch, but he's actually enjoying being part of a grisly murder investigation. The thought was sobering enough that he didn't even level the famous Telluris wit at the newest arrival, even when she started mewing orders and all-but lapping up milk from a saucer. No doubt he would make up for lost time later, but right now he had more serious things to focus on, like...

I wonder if she grooms herse- No, bad Rob! I wonder if the Germans are regretting bringing us all in yet. I'm a pro, Karrie's a pro, Kei is a pro - though she's more of an operator than a lab-grunt. Nate's badge still has it's tin-foil sheen and thisSupreme guy is a helluva piece of work. Jeezus. All we need is Connor and a legion of screaming fangirls and we've got a three ring circus. Ahh well, it's all international co-operation: we help the Germans out now, and come Oktoberfest it'll be beer, pretzels and busty blondes in dirndls.

"I guess we're ready." he told Detective Maier, giving the guy an apologetic smile. "Sorry about the floor show - you get more than three novas in a room together and there's always an elaborate dance to see who's going to tread on who's toes and who's going to be in the kitchen trying not to cry in the punch bowl." He offered the man a hand. "Rob Lehnsherr." he told Maier firmly as the other man took it and shook it. "Call me Rob, and save the Telluris stuff for the papers. Let's go take a look at the scene."

Naomi nodded, slipping her coat on over her suit. Not that such an affectation was necessary with her suit, but she's learned that sometimes image was important. Then again, the coat had better pockets than the ones on the legs of her suit. She purred a little in satisfacton, she was just hoping she didn't step on anyone's toes.

"I would agree with that sentiment, Rob." She said, smiling.

Naomi-chan... stay calm and keep your senses about you...

Every once in a while her feline side kept about her... there might be danger and her senses suddenly started to key in on her companions and her own surroundings.

"But please, everyone, be careful. I don't want anyone getting hurt."

Naomi facepalmed, and mewed a light bit of exacerbation.

"Supreme... please... we're not the military. If you're looking for formalities, call him Detective Maier, and if you're referring to me, just call me Naomi."

She smiled, more out of her way of dealing with her sense of confusion and the fact she's been dealing with a particularly interesting and dangerous case. She was starting to feel like a schoolteacher again.

Patience, Naomi-chan... patience...

She clears her throat, doing a quick meow-like vocalization. "So... let's get this show on the road. This threat to this city and her citizens won't wait. Neither should we."

She picks up a yellow bag and slings it over her shoulder as they start heading out.

“Sir is fine as a formal address, though Hans if we are all being informal.” Maier rose with them as a group and began to escort them through the black hallways. Large lamps, connected by a chain of electrical cords, illuminated the gloom in spots. Gray shadows lingered between each lamp, however, making the walking novas feel as if they passed through an ocean of shadow around islands of brightness. “While you are doing this, I will be arranging lunch.”

“That’s not necessary,” Rob started, only to be cut off by Maier.

“The German government insists. I will not have our hospitality questioned.”

“It’s not that.” Karrie butted into the conversation, glancing up from her laptop to admit, “Depending on how bad this is, I may not want any lunch. None of us may.”

“I will still ensure that it will be available.” Maier was quiet as he came to a doorway covered in a plastic sheet. A glance down revealed that this was the room; the sheer number of bloody footprints in and out of the room was clear. Most of the footprints were blurry and indistinct, the result of forensic booties worn over shoes.

Karrie moved further down the hallway, until she was past the dried spoor and could only see two footprints. Silently, she gazed into the darkness before turning back. “Let’s do this.” As the others echoed her, Maier pulled the plastic back.

The room was splattered in gore. All of it was dried, though after the first person entered it was clear that it was merely tacky and not truly dry yet. Various stains were everywhere, along with evidence flags. Two outlines of tape marked the former bodies. “Here is where Holtman was found.” Maier started the gruesome tour without hesitation. “His body was the least destroyed. Our medical examiner said that he was killed with one rapid blow to the neck and died within moments of exsanguination. The destruction to the body occurred after his death. Wilson was here; many of his wounds were defensive and it is believed that Holtman was killed first, by surprise, and Wilson had time to fight.”

Kei remembered the slaughterhouse she opened in Somalia... and that was with laser beams and a boatload of angry. There was nothing pretty, simple, or normal about this. She gasped. "What in... God's..."

She saw the images at the briefing, but there was a seperation, now that she was in the abbatoir...

"Kei... focus." May said. She was visibly disturbed herself. But unlike Kei, she wasn't a civilian forced into a combat role. She enlisted. And has seen her share.

"So, Detective..." Kei said, seeing the bloody art left on the ground. "...Was the damage done to the bodies done with a weapon, or by natural means?"

The vision of the two's last moments on earth were disturbing to Naomi. The blood and stench of death. She hissed. When she was there she knew, just knew of the struggle that happened. The battle for life that was lost. This was a uncomfortable place, and Shiro's instincts blended with her own dread. She growled for a moment.

"Damn... this... I hated coming back in here the first time..."

She sighs, clearing her thoughts, re-focusing and organizing them. "...Okay... We are going to have to find DNA and get it analyzed. And at some point we are going to have to figure out what these two poor souls stumbled upon."

She puts down her bag and pulls out a Katana from it, clipping it to a belt-loop on her suit. "What I added to the briefing is what I found out here before hand. I've been looking things over with a fine-toothed comb. Oh, you'll find none of my hairs here, this bodysuit's as good as a clean-suit."

She slings her bag back over her shoulder. "Now... who is good at evidence collection?"

[Kamiko] 3:49 am: I should make an intuition roll here...

[Kamiko] 3:49 am: To detect if we are in any danger.

Supreme Looked carefully around letting his eyes drink in the sights, as he walked he make sure his footsteps didn’t mess with the crime scene.

Supreme eyes Darken at the scene but he refuse to let it affect him but the distaste was written on it.

“what a waste, human life is too short as it is” Supreme whisper at the scene

“ we will find who did this to you” Supreme finished whispering as he completed this circle of the room

Making sure not to get in the others way as he did so.

Supreme move to door allowing the real experts to work.

The search began. Supreme, using a mix of his power to actually internalize the room in his head and his ability to see in many spectrums, scanned the entire room. Coyote did the same thing, only with her Sensing Gloves, which uploaded the data into her computer. At another time and place, Rob might have flushed to see those gloves again; this time, he simply wished he was back at that embarrassing time and place rather than here.

As they got to work on their search, Maier said, “The weapons appear to be natural. As of yet, we have no conclusive evidence of what the weapons were. They didn’t leave even minute traces behind, which indicates quantum-based weaponry. Based on their shape, we’re guessing something hook-shaped. This hook-object is what caused the death-blow on Holtman. Wilson’s death is clouded by multiple traumas. Additionally, there were round bruises as well as evidence of crushing damage to the body, which could be the cause of Wilson’s death.”

The group fell into silence as they searched. It was Supreme who broke the silence. “Here’s something.”

“What?” Karrie came over, her gloved hands hovering before her.

“I’m not sure. Slime, I think.” Supreme stepped back, watching with interest as Karrie pressed her glove to the vicious material.

“It’s not human,” she reported a moment later, as data started to fill her laptop’s screen. “The computer has no idea what it is, but it’s not human.” Karrie glanced up, her plain brown eyes meeting Supreme’s exotic ones. “Lappy here can parse it, but it’d take time. Can you do it faster?”

Meanwhile, Naomi was collecting further evidence. When Karrie removed her hand, Naomi was there to collect the substance. Someone had seen it, but they hadn't deemed it important to the case. Sloppy, Noami thought with disgust.

Naomi looked at the slime from every angle.

"To be honest, unless I have a spectrum analyzer of some sort I am completely in the dark. I'm not familiar with all of the power suites or sensory capabilities of anyone here."

She sighed. Perhaps she wasn't as great as people think she is.

“Don’t worry, Naomi, I’m sure if we have the capability, the person with it will speak up.” Karrie snorted softly. “One thing I’ve noticed about novas, we’re never shy about showing off.” She paused and grew more somber. “Let’s hope that our prey here wants to show off too, rather than hiding and waiting for someone weaker and less able to come along.”

As Supreme labored over the DNA codes, Karrie looked to the rest. “He seems to have that. Shall we go look at the wall? And actually, I have something I’d like to do too.” Karrie led the way into the hall, then crouched down. In the silence, the others heard her audibly sniffing. Rising, she moved down the hall, stopping occasionally to sniff. Maier followed them, his expression unreadable as he trailed in their footsteps.

“My advice right now is to look at the walls. Though honestly, that is what I’m doing. So I’d suggest you two hang tight – I get the bad feeling that once we find this guy or gal we’re going to have more than enough to do.” Karrie stopped in front of where the two mens’ footprints disappeared into the wall. Her gloves were still on, and the young woman began to run her hands over the wall, letting the gloves take readings. “Yeah, I think this wall has been altered. Rob, you wanna come and do your thing over here?”

Naomi readied her blade and stepped back. Her ears went back, and she squinted.

"I didn't sense anything was here... I got a sixth sense about this sort of stuff... but I still think if this thing can mask itself somehow... it might still have the drop on us."

She looked back to Karrie and Rob, then to Kei and Supreme and the rest.

"If you got sidearms, kids, now might be the time to get ready."

"Naomi-chan... use your senses and let them guide you... you're giving in to fear..."

Kei armored up and stood in front of May and the Detective. following Naomi's lead.

"Don't have to tell me twice."

Where once stood a short woman in a futuristic flightsuit now stood a armored woman that looked more jet than human.

The "helmet" closed around her face, leaving a clear slit where her glowing blue eyes could be seen through them.

Her armor's colors are currently flat grey to match her suit, with DSA emblems on the "wings"

"Sidearms... yeah. Right." Rob muttered as he sized up the wall. Karrie was right - the molecular structure of the cement and brick had been altered, then put back in a facsimile of it's old self. He could feel the rock talking to him as he passed his own hand across it the way an artist might appraise a block of marble.

"Gonna say it?" Karrie said to him with a grin. Rob looked her way and smiled faintly, some of the brooding tension leaving his face.

"Naw..." he said, looking back at the wall. "Besides, I have a feeling our bad guy will do enough sneering." With a thought and a pulse of quantum, the wall began to peel open like soft clay, rigid cement pushing aside and reshaping into a doorway to what lay beyond.

Ever since they had entered the area with the bodies Nate had unclipped one of his lightsabers from his belt ready for action. He did use his own abilities to look over the walls while keeping an eye out for ambush. Natural Hooks, brusing from bashing blows... what really had his hackles up was the image in his mind of a human sized nova preying-mantis. The big green bugs had always creeped him out at the same time they fascinated him. They weren't underground creatures however, but there were tons of other insects with hooked limbs.

"Hey, Karrie, cross reference that DNA with insect DNA if you get a second. I've got a bad feeling about this."

He was still contemplating what bugs it could be when Rob opened the wall. He couldn't help but be impressed. He had worked hard on developing his Sith Alchemy and he could have done the same trick, but Telluris made it look easy. Definitely impressive. He would have to make a point of finding some time to talk with the other nova about his ability, maybe he could get some pointers.

As the wall opened he waited to see what would be revealed, would the tunnel or room be man-made or created by the same sort of power he and Rob could wield?

Mostly he waited to see if there would be a giant super-powered bug waiting to try and eat them.

Karrie frowned. "Jedi, I could, but it'd take hours for my lappy to crunch. Supreme's gonna get us the information sooner. Good thought though! Giant bugs. Great stuff."

Meanwhile, Supreme was alone with his computer - never a bad place to be when you were dealing with his Kitty. Supreme started with satisfaction as Kitty said, “Sample done, Master!” The gorgeous simulation swayed with a little hint of sexuality as she purred, “The same is human and teuthida.”

Supreme’s eyes narrowed. “And that last is what exactly?”

“They are the cephalopods known as squids.”

Supreme blinked. “So… we’re dealing with a squid-man?”

Kitty paused. That was, bluntly, unusual for a computer. Supreme had never seen his program hesitate on an answer. “There’s something else, something that I can’t really analyze.”

“Why not?”

Kitty’s answer was again slow in coming. “Because I’ve never seen anything like it. It has no correlation to anything I’ve ever seen. It’s not quantum. It’s not biological. I’m sorry, Master.” Her digital shoulders drooped, giving Supreme a glimpse down her shirt. He could take no pleasure in the programmed fan service, however.

Rising, he went to find the others. An officer outside directed him down the hall, where Rob had just finished shaping the wall back. A black hole waited beyond the opening in the wall. Maier inhaled. “That’s a natural cave system. No one knew it was here. Dear god… who knows how far it goes.” He sounded afraid.

“We’ll just have to find out.” Karrie put her laptop in her bag and pulled out a flashlight. “Everyone ready?”
