Guest
I've read Terragen, found it good, and then read Utopia, and found it bad.Not only the book is disorganized, with most of the information scattered in the 'colorfull' part of the book, but, damn, I can't find even the names of the components of T2M! In the Teragen book there are the 'cards' of every important terat, why there is'n something similar in Utopia?
Jager
I think it was their aim for the GM to build his/her own T2M for each locale, allowing the players to fit into the teams better. I found it quite a pain running them as the "opposing force" and having to do all the creative work without even knowing if the PCs would run across them. On the plus side, it turned out that half of my T2M-Asia were stealth specialist in one form or another. I thought that was kind of neat.
Guest
Yea, I thought The T2m info was a bit skimpy I think there were about like what 10 or so T2m Members mentioned? they did say who all the leaders were but they didn't really mention wich team the current memebers were on. well, I guess we can count T2M Europe short one Saxon, huh? The Ranger
Yeah, shouting "Mal is my saviour" all the time might cause slight problems for the PR department of Project Utopia. It is a pain not to have a list of possible team rosters, leaders and resources available. It makes it hard for a ST with limited time available to run a game. Jager
All those dead young ladies didn't help matters much, either. Actually, it seems to me that the "clean" novas are more often than not, Teragen, and the ones with real emotional problems are Utopian. Wait, I forgot Shrapnel and the Confederate, didn't I. I wonder how Saxon got so far over the deep end without anyone seeing it coming? A set-up, anyone? Or didn Utopia's high-priced nova psychiatrist and precogs drop the ball? Coriolis
Nards. Or even metanards. Utopia was all over the shop. I liked the Proteus bits though, and wonder where that doctor's experiments will lead.------------------Bast protect us all.
Sidious
maybe it's just me but the only part of the Teragen book I use with any regularity is p116-131, the Chrysalis and new/modified powers section. The rest is really interesting but really has no bearing on many of my game other than figuring out possibly npcs.as for PU, I'm in complete aggreement. the info was way to spread out the powers while nice were hardly novel or unquie. if they would just give us some stats on the NPCs we could tailor our own game like they want us to but geeze it's not easy thinking up a bunch of characters based on name alone, while many of the names have nothing to do with their powers. I just had to stat up Slider (we started our game at the beginning of the timeline, adjusted so that the Fireman erupted in 2001). I spent a couple of hours trying to figure out how to make her until I gave up and just made her as a starting character, building on the scant information that White Wolf provided. I had to invent a new Extra (Teleport: Affect Others), but I think I did a decent job. Jenny Marie actually has a personality that I jumped into easily when she was introduced to the game.I think that's the best way to go about it. You, or a player you trust, can go in and make the name-only characters, and there's enough room to toss in T2M members entirely of your own creation. I'll bet that's what White Wolf was going for.------------------"When all hope is lost, pig-headed refusal to acknowledge reality will always save the day."--Andy Ihnatko
Guest
Tell me about it, I really wanna know the stats for the main characters in the metaplot. The only book that does that really is the Elite handbook. I'll admit I'm morbidly curious about Divis Mal's stats.
Hugin
They will probably never list his stats. He's supposed to be the biggest bad ass on the planet, without stats written down it allows the ST to adjust him to keep in line with whatever particular power level you happen to be playing. The Ranger
Yeah, as far as I know "Phase I" has stats for Mal. They are only an outline however and it suggests that you add what you like to them. Considering the players guide information and the fact he has quantum 8 you might want to add at least the mastery extra to his powers...
Coriolis
Mal kicked/kicks Pax royally in, as you said, Worldwide Phase 1. In 2010, depending on where you are in your game, if you're using the meta-plot. And as Ranger says it only give a sketch of Mal's powers in that book. ------------------Bast protect us all.
