World of Darkness: The Darkness of Space - First, Second and Last Impressions

"Sounds like they want to adopt you," Tejah noted to Wesely with a smile. She couldn't fault the Fenlings for that feeling. She'd adopt the gorgeous man, too, given half a chance. Though she knew that the nature of Verra's adoption of him and Tejah's adoption of him would be very different. Tejah was willing to bet hers would be more fun as well.

"I appreciate this token, I'm sure others will as well, not sure I was the one this should have been brought to, but, I will at least try to listen, but, I am a bit too nomadic to really stay on one planet."

He looked to Tejah, "at moments it seems they might be willing to resort to kidnapping to get that end." he chuckled and shared a smile to convey that he wasn't really serious.

Wesely put his palm to his forhead before composing himself, "well, that is not what I meant, but do not pay it any mind okay."

He looked to Tejah and offered an apologetic smile, not that it conveys well with his sometimes unfortunate looks.

Like most of Wesely's expressions, even his attempt at apology was a smoldering gaze that made women want to throw their panties at him. Tejah barely resisted the urge to reach over and brush back some of the hair that hung around his eyes. Verra made her uneasy, though that was only because the female alien seemed just as infatuated with Wesely as Tejah was. "Wesely," she typed, "how hard is it to get down to the planet?" She wasn't sure she should go, but she was considering it now.

"Not too hard at all actually, small shuttle craft work well enough and the atmosphere has no irrevocable repercussions on the immune system to note as of yet, thinking of a small vacation?"

He turned to Verra, "so, do you happen to know...what these...seeds grow into?"

Tejah paused. "I might," she said, frowning as she typed. "Less a vacation and more to try to find out what the Myst is and if it's related to what I experienced." Her expression became annoyed. "Though I'm not sure how I'd be doing that. As I understand it, we don't understand the Myst at all."

"Seeds grow into plants." Verra replies to Wesley. Turning to Tejah, "The Myst is there, it is part of life. We do not understand the Myst, we live in harmony with the Myst or the Myst changes us so that we can be in harmony. Carna whispers through the Myst. We listen to Carna and the Myst does not hurt us."

Tejah blinked. To be fair, Carna sounded like an overbearing tyrant while the Myst was her mystical enforcer. In particularly, the news about changing someone to be in harmony with it sounded a lot like what had happened to her. Tejah didn't say so immediately; Verra was an alien and Tejah wasn't sure this was her first language. So Verra's statements might be slightly misleading. She glanced nervously at Wesely; she'd seen that look before, particularly on men's faces right before they did something stupid.

Verra shook her head, "The Myst does not hurt, but not all see the Myst the same. The Mrem do not like the Myst, can not hear Carna. They think the change is hurting. The Liskash do not hear Carna, but they like the Myst, like the changes. The Avoral need the Myst to become. The Tanygres sometimes hear, very very rare, but they know the Myst is special. We Fenling hear Carna in the Myst, we do not need to be changed. We like our place, so we do not ask for change."

Verra shrugs, "I do not know how you can hear Carna if you are not Fenling. But if Pretty come, Verra will ask Carna to speak to him. Verra has not asked for change so Verra does not know what Carna would do. But Carna likes Fenlings, we listen, she is kind and helpful."

"Perhaps I would, but at a later date, I'd rather not jump into something without more consideration," he pauses, "these seeds, do they require just any soil to grow, or specifically the dirt or marsh of your home?"

  • 3 weeks later...

Tejah waited until the alien woman was gone before turning back to the two people waiting with her. The pink-haired woman looked excited but uncertain as she smiled. Realizing that they seemed to be waiting for her, she quickly typed, "So where were we? Back to the breakroom... or back to work?" She looked much less pleased with the second suggestion, but she was here to work. She couldn't spend all her time mooning at the most beautiful man she'd ever met. She was here to work. Sadly.

Wesely groaned at the prospect of work, but it was a necessity if there would be gallivanting around the galaxy again, "unfortunately, it would be prudent to return to work," his purple friend added, "right...yeah, work, anyway I suppose I do have some paperwork to do, I'll at least escort you to the job site, and you can give me a rundown of things at the very least before I move along."

He offered this somewhat dismayed, work wasn't something he exactly ever enjoyed, not in the acceptable forms at least.
