Sakurako Hino
Some real bad stuff just happened. And I have no clue as to why it happened.Things were going so good then this had to happen.I got more to worry about right now than hanging out here, I have to find someplace to live. And Tokyo housing is rather... Tight.I'll recover... but after what happened...
Splitmind
Sorry to hear it. I'm told the loss of a home can be difficult. Like most of the others on the board, I don't have much assistance to offer to such a capable Nova, but I can offer sympathy.
Sakurako Hino
I'll be sort of quick.Splitmind: Thanks, but I really was just posting info regarding my situation. In this case, I'm perfectly able to take care of myself. As for having a temporary roof over my head. My office is sufficing for now, going between that and my Ship.Although it annoys the hell out of me I got a house to get OFF of this thing.I'm looking into a new plot of land nearby where I was living. Perhaps if I can get that I can put up a couple domes and be done with it. I can secure those much easier.
z-Carver
Endeavor, I'm sorry to hear about your loss. Let me know if you need anything that I can help with, ok?
Sakurako Hino
Right now... no. All I know is my current situation. I have no leads, the police are stumped, and I'm scared.I'd hire some DeVries specialists, but they weren't any help to me during the whole Deathsquad debaccle, and quite frankly this is one isolated nutcase. No evidence of any Nova involvement. No CoMA, no nothing. What would drive an individual this far?I'm sorry, I should leave the questions to the authorities. It's not my place to be on the hunt as well.I... Have better things to do. Hugin
Endeavor, if you are in need of temporary shelter I can offer you some. I have a small apartment, small but well appointed, I keep for visiting artists. It is currently empty.
Wakinyan
Interesting an offer to come after such harsh comment to her and her activities, seems almost Machiavellian. Sandcaster taught me that word recently. I was waiting for a chance to use it.
Hugin
The comment came in a moment of pique. And I do have some distaste for Ms. Hino. But, if I was of a mind to actually eliminate her she'd be dead, I would never have said anything and her cat would still be preening. I like cats actually. That aside, she is a Nova in some distress and the offer costs me nothing. The apartement is there, it will be empty for at least two weeks and perhaps this is my way of apologizing.
Wakinyan
I dunno. I mean maybe that is what you want us to think right? I have been around a few big brained Novas now to know they are so far ahead of the game that just because one saves your life now doesn't mean they do not want you dead. They just don't want you dead at that moment. Not saying this is your goal Hugin. Just saying to you big throbbing brain types it is all a big chess game it seems. Killing a cat now could avert a war later. Or cause one.
Sakurako Hino
Waki, Hugin is SO not even near my suspect list. She's a competitor, yes, but she is not someone I would know to take such a petty move.Besides, whoever did it I can assume knew I was out on business. This was a message, Wakinyan. But still, from whom and why?I think I'll take you up on your offer, Hugin. We have alot to discuss, you and I. Perhaps with my ego properly out of the way there should be some sort of understanding between us.Even if in the end it is to agree to leave eachother alone.
Wakinyan
Hey if you say so my pink friend. I don't even try to argue with you big brained ones. You all obviously got things figured out well beyond what I do.
Jager
I applaud Hugin's offer. If we don't help each other through the small things, how can we expect to work together when it really counts?Hugin is offering shelter for a week, or two. Some things really are what they seem at face value. If anything, a public offer of aid sends a message to those who have done E harm ... in Japan.E, if you need anything, please don't hesitate. Doctor Nova Madigan
If there's anything that I can help with, PM me. I can be in Japan, well, instantly, and I can still do my current job from there, too.
Sakurako Hino
Heh, I forgot that someone had me watching their home. Won't say who, but I was asked to do so. Thing is, he never invited me to stay there while he was away on a holiday. So, I won't use that generosity. Although I should check back there in the very near future. As for all the help, here is the deal. I got the plot of land, and in about a couple weeks I'm going to get my domes up and start all over again with settling down.I've lost roughly 75% of my wardrobe, 35% of my total technology, and about 25% of my various collections which I can replace, and 5% of which I cannot. Not to mention there is the issue of the cat, who I have just collected the ashes for....Yeah... remind me to fucking put my security in first this time.Hugin, I will be stopping in later tomorrow. I need a better shower than the usual coffin motels have, and I need access to a laundry. My work clothing supply has just worn out. I do pride myself on appearance.I've told STIA that I will be in disposed over the next few weeks while I recover from this setback. My January 1st opening for new clients is still VERY MUCH on schedule.

If a nova was to send a message like this, don't you think they'd have made sure you knew what the message was? Either there's a clue here that you're missing (and it would likely be something that you'd notice), this was a random act of violience and hatred (not impossible, but I find it fairly unlikely given your locale and the lack of suspects), or else the message wasn't meant for you. Wakinyan
Just like the person who killed your cat and burned your home used? It's time you stop making stun bots it is time you start building mecha monstrosities Endeavor. Gatlinguns and missile racks. After all that has happened to you over the past year (yes including me almost killing you) I would like to see you take the next step and go for broke. I can't protect the friends I care most for, even from myself. The best I can hope for is for you to be able to do it yourself. Either that or the old man with emphysema you invited to dinner can do it but he might have a heart attack at any moment and wouldn't be much of a protector.. Wakinyan
I want you to protect yourself Endeavor. I want you to be strong because I cannot be strong for you. I want the enemy to think they have you only to find you have always had them. Yes be the mad scientist Endeavor. Has anyone ever told you that in your entire life? Cackle madly and make giant robots. Build a starship and when you are done let me know I will be buying a ticket.
Sakurako Hino
Perhaps it'll be near time for me to start being more aggressive. But it's definately not time for the white labcoat and heavy black goggles just yet.I'd rather not take any overt aggressive action though. It only attracts flies I'd rather not have hanging around. Sam Grey
C'mon, furball, she gets that she doesn't need to make a machette to cut a piece of bread...And I think you're just jealous I'm the one who can smoke a normal cancerstick 24/7. Then again, that shit might end up being your currency if you ain't careful. Lemme know if you need some of those old vids from the States, Pinkie. It'll save you some time if I toss 'em in a bag and bring to you whenever I drop in.
Wakinyan
Machete? Man you are old.. I was thinking Plasma sword. And why would I be jealous? Unless you get a fine stogie of which only one person has ever shown me good pure and true tobacco. If not all they do is smell bad and full of nasty chemicals. All I want is for my friends to stop getting hurt Endeavor and if that means you have to build a Terminator as your personal bodyguard so be it. Jager
Becoming more like your enemy rarely gives you a victory worth having. If anything, it creates a lasting memorial to their cruelty. Sometimes winning is keeping to your core beliefs despite all the crap being thrown your way. It is a Victory of Self.
Wakinyan
A victory of self is worth nothing if you are dead because of it.
Tommy Tomorrow
This might seem cruel but I'm short on time and long on committments today. Take it for what its worth when I say: Quote:Wakinyan: A victory of self is worth nothing if you are dead because of it. If that's what you really believe then shouldn't you be voluntering for a nodectomy? One surgical procedure and all your worldly problems go away. I strongly suspect you don't really believe what you said, but if I'm wrong and you do believe in that philosophy then there's a clear path ahead. Quote:Originally posted by Sakurako Endeavor Hino:I'm trying NOT to be the mad scientist here, Waki. The difference between science and mad science is usually a question of genius and scale. Or one of questionable genius and scale if you prefer. Science supposes a device small enough to enter a cell and make changes to the genetic material just like a child rearranging Leggos. Mad science wants to change the world and so creates the device small enough to enter a cell and make changes to the genetic material like a child rearranging Leggos. Mad science doesn't necessarily strive for less noble goals, but then its hard to judge the decisions of someone smarter than 99.99999 percent of the human race that has, and possibly ever will, exist. Some very positive discoveries created by those suffering from SRMD (science related mimetic disorder) have been put to some very positive uses. Some of the "cutting edge" machines used in the terraforming of the Eden and Genesis projects come to mind here. Of course the discoveries were taken away from the creators first.
