I know this is a U.S. holiday, but that's my home and I still have a soft spot for it. So this is for the whole board, whether you're a knight, a terat, an elite or if you don't fit into society's neat little boxes. What are you thankful for today?

Me, I'm thankful that I'm still free, able to travel where I please and feel the wind.

I'm grateful that my body isn't too far mutated to feel said wind, and that I can jump far enough to really feel it roar.

I'm thankful that I have a community where I can communicate with others on a regular basis.

I'm thankful that I have a doctor who has concern for my well-being.

I'm thankful that I'm not completely alone anymore.

While I'm amazed that North America celebrates a holidy where they get together with family, Japan is about ancestors and family bonds. What I do not get is how North America, The United States in particular, complain most about their families.

They should be glad they even have one.

We are. We're just not ecstatic about being related to some of them without any choice in the matter.

I'm thankful for:

People who want to read my books and articles.

An intelligent and talented person who collaborates on the hard science with me while suffering through my first drafts.

A group is talking about optioning my work to form the basis of a cyberworld on the opnet. I know much of that is enthusiasm over Who Owns the Night?, but the idea of an entire world based on my ideas is just too incredible.

In addition to friends and family (enjoy them while you can), I'm thankful that modern agriculture produces enough food to feed my nova appetite.

We had dinner at my brother’s place and our Thanksgiving feast was actually less food than I usually eat. Don’t get me wrong, all of us had a great time.

I'm thankful Tarot is finally working on a new series. Man is he annoying when he wants to work but isn't.

I'm thankful that the ice storm hit Cleveland on Wednesday morning, and no later than that. It'd have been chaos if it had come in the evening, on Thursday, or on Black Friday. (shudder)
