[OpNet] Good OP shows?

Ugh, TV, that's just crap, but i geuss for you it's all I got. I don't really like the new stuff a whole lot. I like the old junk, like The Three Stooges, and Abbot and Costello. My dad loved it, and I grew up on that shit, so I can't really stray from it. I guess if you want I can send you a tape or two, if you can find a working VCR, those aren't that easy to come around anymore.

All I need. Getting addicted to Soaps.

And I bitch about it as I am sitting here downloading them.

I have been watching Discovery:Nova channel lately. Some great documentaries they are bit more dry and less sensationalized that N! tends to put out but still interesting stuff.

Gives me an idea that the Teragen should quit trying to be spooky, mysterious and ominous and just do a documentary on what it is they are trying to accomplish... Or maybe an infomercial.

I, for one, would find a Teragen infomercial much creepier than the Manifesto presentation.

Apparently god-like Nova giving a speech about the rising up and breaking of bonds? Okay, I can live with that.

I think most of us are old enough to remember those infomercials with the guy with the accent and false enthusiasm. Right now I can only envision Divis Mal exclaiming "Isn't that right, Chuck!?" And Chuck, in turn, would ramp up his enthusiasm to sound as excited as Divis Mal did, on the off chance that Divis Mal would become displeased with his lackluster performance.

I dunno if I can handle that. I mean I hear they have a Sphinx as the professor. Which makes me think that he had it arranged so that he 'wanted' them all to be shipwrecked.

I was watching the NGC on cultural dances around the world that did give me some ideas. I am almost curious enough to try ballroom at some point but it feels a bit waisicu.

I have been thinking about doing more carvings again or maybe try painting for a change. Anything to pass the hours in here would be nice. It's a big room but I don't think it is big enough for me to do my dancing in my natural form.

It turns out that they still make Doctor Who after over 50 years. I've been enjoying it quite a bit, though no one will truely surpass Sly McCoy in my heart.

Most of the time I watch documentaries. There's something on right now about the notion that the universe is holographic - that everything is a three-dimensional reflection of a two-dimensional substructure composed entirely of raw information. This might be a working theory for the lynchpin of how, exactly, nova powers work - they rewrite the informational content of the universe. It's giving me a few insights into how I relate to my own abilities.

What else... oh yes. You can't beat the classics, and Warner Brothers makes their entire animation back catalogue available over the OpNet. It's amazing how I still laugh at Bugs Bunny after all these years.

The OpNet isn't just for video, you know. There are entire libraries of literature available to you. I suggest you learn a few new languages (the translator software available is never good enough to get the entire meaning of the original works), and reading some famous works in their native languages. It takes time, but it's highly worthwhile.

I have a lovely recipe for Pumpkin Pie (trust me, it's good enough to deserve the capitalization) , if you'd like I'd be happy to send it to your jailers and they could provide you with one.

Oh, I saw that! I guess that means as the Informatrix, I have ultimate control over the universe?

It's a nice thought.

I had ultimate control first and I don't share well. You'll have to get your own universe. laugh

Re: Doctor Who
It's good that there is one interesting Science Fantasy still on that doesn't deal with Novas. After some moron decided to attempt a Re-Vitalization of Star Trek using Novas... I said; Check Please. Make mine Galifreyan.

Re: The Holographic Universe
Would sort of be part of the explaination regarding the observation problem at the atomic level, since the observer influences things on that level by just looking there. Sort of warms my heart that using my abilities sort of "hacks the gibson" as it were.

Re: Animation
You want a trip? Since you're so interested in Holographic universes, watch The Big O. You'll catch the drift regarding the Second Season. It's amazing what you find in the OpNet archives. I find watching Space Battleship Yamato is still quite a watch; that and the original Mobile Suit Gundam.

Oh... and Tom Baker IS THE Doctor.

You got that right, Pinkie.
Well, I'm partial to Hugh Grant too. He can show me his sonic screwdriver anytime.

Actually, I've always thought of you as the future originator in this universe of the title; "The Paper".

You're a woman after my own heart, Pinke. wink

And I'll keep them handy for you to watch after you're out of the joint, furball. Some times that cerebral shit makes for good entertainment.
