Sam 'The Crusader' Hill
P.S. Why does that little thing under my name say "Baseline"?
Ally
Greetings and welcome The Crusader! I am a big fan of your exploits! Where do you do the most of your Hero work? I try to specialize in the midatlantic states but I go where ever I am needed of course! The little baseline note is a bit of humor the admin added to the site. In order to be a 'Nova' you have to post at least one hundred time. (Careful don't spam though to get it that makes them unhappy!) Maybe we can do a teamup sometime! Sandcaster
Is this for real? There's actually two of, um, you out there? Good grief....
Sam 'The Crusader' Hill
Wow! Replies already!Greeting Ally! To answer your question, most of my work has been super-secret stuff; I'm not supposed to talk about it. But it's all been really important; the folks at Team Tomorrow are always telling me that the work I do is so urgent that I shouldn't stop and wave to people or anything. You don't get any more important that that! And thank you for letting me know about the little joke. A hundred posts, you say? That's quite a few, but I'm sure that, with due diligence, it's another challenge that I'll meet.Sandcaster, pleased to meet you! I've heard about your upstanding deeds. Ah, to be both a protector of the citizenry and a talented teacher of today's teenagers...what an amazing combination! I just don't understand why your application to Team Tomorrow is taking so long...Ah, time for me to leave. TALLY-HO!
Bic
Quote:Originally posted by Sandcaster:Is this for real? There's actually two of, um, you out there? Good grief....Golly Sandcaster, why so surprised? It makes me feel safer to know there are Novas out there really trying to make a difference. Gee wiz, I think the world needs more Nova heroes.Heroes that can be looked up to by baseline and Nova alike.Heroes whose goal really is to make the world a better place, in the most general, apolitical and widely acceptable definition of the term.Heroes who are apparently far too nuts to have any menacing shadowy agendas of their own. (I can dream, can't I?)Yep, I say more power to the cape-wearing boy scout(and girl scout) crowd. At the very least we need them to counter-balance the bloodthirsty super-villainous types (why those losers get so much more respect I can't fathom), so the sane people can concentrate on getting their work done.My advice to Sam, Ally and their kin: Resolve here and now, in the event that your rosy worldviews get shattered, you won't go nuts and start, for example, eating people. It rarely makes things better. And in the mean time, keep making the world safe for liberty, kittens, and ambiguously sarcastic busybodies. Sandcaster
No, it's not a good thing, Bic. I had honestly thought that Utopia had hauled The Crusader away to one of their "facilities" back in '09 when he went off the scope. Either someone has now sneaked him a laptop for a little R&R and he's playing out his fantasies on the OpNet, or he really is still on active duty for T2M...and that's a really frightening thought. The guy obviously lives in a fantasy world. It's sad, because he apparently was quite the powerhouse, but there you have it. And to be blunt, if he doesn't have a good grip on reality, he's a danger to all involved.I've never had a great deal of respect for the Project, and said respect has gone steadily down in recent years; if they really are still letting The Crusader work as an active operative, they've just dropped another notch on the respect meter. For their sake -- and for ours -- I sincerely hope that Sam Hill is typing his notes from a padded room.
Ally
Sandcaster do you not work for a greater good with the WCK? Do you not believe that we can all contribute to a better world? Utopia has done such great goods that a few little trips now and then only show that they are not perfect. None of us are. But we can try to do our best. It is all we can really do in the end. Perhaps Crusader and I take a more simply and direct route to doing our best but we save lives, we help people, we improve the world around us. Do not fault us for that. Bic
Well, my take is this: Being an A1 nutter doesn't necessarily make someone wrong. Now, I haven't done much research on Sam, but as long as he's not executing jaywalking grannies in the name of truth, justice and the American way (as an extreme example) I don't see much of a problem with a bit of maniacal theatrics tacked on to good works. Even less so if it's sincere.Insofar as they can be taken at face value I don't see how Sam and Ally are any more dangerous than the brooding, serious inscrutable Novas who might decide at any time that someone is an impediment to their ultimate goals and go about an efficient extermination for the 'greater good'. And they're way more fun to watch.
Edward
Quote:Originally posted by Ally: Do not fault us for that. I would suggest you not think ill of Sandcaster. She is a lovely woman and a superior being. I am sure if she was to express dismay with something she has thought long and hard about it. She's just that kind of person. z-Clark
Quote:Originally posted by Sam 'The Crusader' Hill:Is this thing working?Greetings, The Crusader. You should perhaps take a course on basic Op-Net use and etiquette. If you do not wish a baseline tutor, I could recommend an excellent Nova one. Welcome.
