Guest
anyone have the XWF? does it detail moves like the sleeper hold? How do you work that move? Say Nova 'A' with mega strength 2 gets a hold of Nova 'B' in a sleeper position. Assume that Nove 'B' has a soak at least higher than the maximum that 'A' can deal out.Can Nova 'A' expect to have a successful sleeper hold? Boy Scout
There is something you could probably use called the "Submission Hold," but it doesn't use a damage system. Instead, use the normal rules for Hold, and the attacker is at +1 difficulty. If the attacker can keep the victim in the hold, he/she rolls the appropriate combat ability (Brawl or Martial Arts, generally) against the target's Resistance. The target's successes cancel out the attacker's, and if the attacker has any left over, each one erases one of the target's temproary Willpower score. If the target runs out of temporary Willpower, he/she "submits," or in the case of the sleeper hold, passes out. I don't know much about wrestling, but this general system could probably be used with all sorts of submission holds.
Brucifer
also look at other WW products like werewolf - they have a welth of strange and interesting maneuvres that can easily be "adapted" (plagiarised - lol) for your game.yeh yeh - grand klaive maneuvres with claws and kinetic discharge - yeh yeh
Avatar
Take a look at either the Streetfighter RPG (by white Wolf) or the World of Darkness: Combat, which is based off of Streetfigter's combat system.Actually, WOD: Combat is a great addition to any cinimatic campaign. Alternately, if you don't like either of those books, There is a book out for Champions called The Ultimate Martial Artist which has a loose translation system for a variety of PRGs, including the Storyteller System.
