I've been thinking. How secure is our own little corner of the OpNet. I've sent some pretty sensitive material through the PM box, and I know I can encrypt them well enough, but what about those that don't have quantum flowing through them to do such things?

Would it be worth it to create some sort of site protection for us, or is it already in place?

I know for a fact this place is rather safe. I had asked the admin's permission to test the security to destruction during the last upgrade downtime.

The PM boxes have more than enough security, but I do know someone with my talents, or someone else with better talent, given time, could hack anything.

I would reccomend that if it's "sensitive", you use a more secure form of communication.

Well, as I'm sure anyone who's bothered to check already knows, I've rarely been truthful when it comes to specifics about the people I know or the locations I've been in.

I don't know enough about the fancy workings of computers to try to fool them, so I figure inventive detailing works just as well.

I never post anything I wouldn't say in public. I never use the PM feature for anything I think someone else might go hunting for. There are many secure means of communication available to us. It's only laziness if we use the insecure means.

This is a place of convenience, not security. As Alchemist said, if you want secure -- truly secure -- communication, there are better methods.
