GateKeeper
Hello all! Well after lurking for a few days I decided to speak up again. I don't really have much to add in Teragen vs. Topia debates and such, so I just thought I would ask my own thing. One of my trainers has had me working with a target recently in the embarkation room. Just something for me to focus on as I open the gate. It seems to work, I open faster and with slightly more prescision than I have before. Do any of the rest of you use a focus either physical or mental in order to operate your various powers/QEs (whatever the in vogue word is these days)? Tarot
Paint brush but I got a favorite pencil case too. What did you expect, a power ring? Yeah all this religious crap bores the shit out of me too, Gee. Just give it a couple of days. The usual way this goes down is all the fanatics whip out their dicks, wave the baton around for a couple of days then slink off in a pissy mood back to whatever the hell they were doing before.Once in a great while somebody says something worth listening to. Most of the time its just a bunch of shit about angels, pins and who's got more love to go around.
Sphere
Dunno mate. My plasma spheres seem to blaze up when I'm pissed off, which thanks to my "evolution" is more often than not. But I can fire them when stone badass sober so I don't NEED it.My teleporting's point and click. Visualise the place and jump there. That count?Bollocks to spirtuality I say. We're radioactive super-freaks. We don't need no steeenking spirituality.
Sakurako Hino
Foci?Does creating and controlling technology count? As for spiritual substance on the other hand... sorry, still searching for that.
Slattern
I have a whole room of "foci". Some for her, some for him, some for us. And yes, I find that they can help make things much easier. Tie someone up tight enough and taught enough and you can employ so many things. It staggers the imagination.
Walker
Sometimes I used to sketch the shape of a rectangle in the air whilst opening a gate, it served as an aid to the visualisation process.Gatekeeper, if you can help it you shouldn't rely too much on looking at this target shape painted on the wall or what ever it is. By all means use it to hone your skills but then throw it away. You never know when you might need to open a gate without it.Slattern, interesting definition of the word foci there, bet you won't find that in the dictionary
David 'Dr. Troll' Smith
In the past I've found that rage/anger can be a useful focus for developing powers... but I suspect that's more theme than anything.
Gerald Haney
I've been told I always squint my eyes when I'm turning the magic peepers on. That's kind of a focus I guess.
Neil Preston
Does a patient count? I have an intrinsic sense of what's wrong and what needs to be fixed which was odd to get used to, but I almost take it for granted now.
