Conduit
A little spin-off from my work thread. What kind of education do you have?I have a High School Diploma. I was going to Community College when I erupted. I haven't gone since.
Singularity
Only high school with on the job training at the foundry. Education and I did not mix very well when I was a baseline. After I erupted I was able to keep up with most graduate students. These days I am surpassing them, but I have not taken the time to formally continue my education.

Wakinyan
I made it mostly through the Junior High but skipped way to much High School to ever graduat. I mean I am supposed to still be in but you don't see me there now do you? That really pisses off the local BIA but I don't really give a fuck. Ghostwriter
I have three Bachelors in Literature, History and Theology, three Masters in Religious Literature, Medieval History and Comparative Theology, a Doctorate in Comparative Mythology and I was in the middle of my PhD when I underwent my changes, so I have to redo it.I also have a Diploma of Library Services and Science from TAFE (Technical and Further Education), which is Australia's equivalent of community college, certificates in calligraphy, drama, flower-arranging, wine appreciation and painting, as well as a fully completed bookbinder's apprenticeship.I got the bookbinder's apprenticeship, Theology degree and Library Services diploma before eruption.Don't worry, I'm done dick-waving now. Sakurako Hino
Well, I have an official diploma from a High School, and I hold one official Bachelor's degree in Industrial Design with a minor in Commercial Design. I also hold several honorary doctorates. Nothing higher yet. Haven't had time to impress the scholastic community up untill now.That's... about it. Walker
In England, at least when I was a nipper, we had these things called GCSE's and A-Levels that were in different subjects, like Maths, English Language, Chemisty etc... I got 7 General Certificates of Secondary Education and 3 Advanced Levels. No degree coz I'd lost interest at that point becoming swept up in the rave/alternative culture that was reaching it's peak in the UK at that time. A student loan just wouldn't have covered my costs

Lemmy Chillmeister
GED. Barely.Did a little studying on electronics and shit so that the day job would be worth it. But that was too fuckin' hard.Turns out the Dark Princess digs the Knight of the Frozen Stalagtite when he's running viscious V12 action upstairs as well as down so I'm spending more time and toil on improving the dirty thoughts factory upstairs for longtime learning, not just the momentary flashes of Nova Noggin that popping the brain chubbie gets me. I'm doing some serious reading and thought grinding. DP says she digs the scholarly studmuffin bit so I'm chilly willyin' my way through her fav books: Story of O, Doc and Fluff, Lady Chatterly's Lover, The Carnal Prayer Mat and some of De Sade's stuff. Learning is fucking mental.
Neil Preston
Who finds their educational degrees to be useful?More and more often, I am being referred to as the "Nova-Healer Guy" and not an MD.Also, do we, as novas, give any real extra emphasis to each other's higher education? Sakurako Hino
True. The titles at least to me and my situation feels more like padding the ego with diplomas than anything else. It's the results that matter.

Tarot
Too dated for me. I gave up fingering my way through the language while trying to get to the story. Try Dancing Queen by Lisa Chrystal Carver.
kestrel404
I have seen novas who insist on being called 'doctor' because of their degrees. This strikes me as about as silly as a baseline with a masters degree (or even a bachellors) insisting on being called something special.I could get a dozen doctorates in various fields if I felt like putting in the time (it's not really an effort at this point).I think it would be much more worthwhile to found a Nova Collegiate. There are certainly enough of us that advanced learning would be a viable endeavor.
Walker
Alchemist I've heard some of the mega-brainy state that their ideas and theories are too complex to be truely understood by someone of Baseline IQ therefore some sort of Nova university or collegiate sounds a really good idea. Neil Preston
The Kama Sutra is a hell of a book to study (and not just for fun) nervous system connectivity and stimulation. Tarot
Oh don't tell me that! Sex is art and sweat and riotous convulsions of the soul! Its lightness of being with the weight of the world slamming down on you from the soft as silk pouty lips of the girl next door or the touch of the tall dark stranger traveling by night.Don't turn it into home work. True, but there is something to be said for the practiced technique, the knowledge of pleasure, and the fine gradations that can only be wrought with training and study.Sex is an art, oh definitely, but even artists need to practice their craft and occasionally even learn from the Masters of it.
