Aberrant RPG - Super-science

Is it just me or is Aberrant lighter on super-tech then it should be? Frankly the gadgeteering rules in the PG don't impress me. I like what the Elite book has, but I want more. I guess I don't want the sort of pseudo-nova power gadgeteering, but hard tech. What should I do? Maybe import hard tech from Trinity?

Except for a couple of items the Trinity tech is woefully under-powered when comparing the effectiveness of the two. Admittedly that's from a weapons perspective but the big push is in noetic tech. Personally I would highly recommend buying a GURPS supplement called ULTRATECH and adapting / expounding on those items. Or any other gaming book with advanced tech that suits your tastes.

Alternately, pick up a copy of A!venture and adapt their weird science rules to your task. Best recommendation is to do both. Get Ultra Tech and use the weird science rules to build it. Warning: you will have to fudge the WS rules a bit. They weren't designed to handle anything over 1.5 dots of quantum power although the structure can be adapted pretty easily.

Personally, I do not see utra high tech fits in well with Aberrant, Yes there would be a huge rush of tech initially, but soon the goverments would stop the issue of to much tech to fast.. (BTW.. That is even true for our reality) So yes, in Aberrant we would see some really cool tech, similiar to what has been produced in some of the books, but I do not think there would be a Large amount of "gadgeteers". If anything you might see Directive Baselines wearing Nano-tech powered armor, mini smart Missiles, Microwave weapons, etc. But I would not Mix Quantum powers and technology, IMHO I think at that time you take away from what it is being a Nova.

If you want some tech in your game, Particulary for Baseline vs Nova, or for Nova Teams to utilize, try Modern day tech, and make it more compact, or accessible.

In the last game I ran, I had staged my version of how the Psiads came about, and how they reacted to the Nova's. "intricate line" that I am not getting into now. But witht he aid of other semi Anti-Nova organizations a group was equiped with light flying power armor. Simialar to Smiling Jack Armor in rifts (Please Note that it was just in general resembalance)... It was a leap in tech that was made available. but not anything to outlandish.

I say keep the tech somewhat realistic, and let Nova's Be Special.
