[OpNet] When I grow Up....Or: Career Day Dreaming

Random question of the Week:

What did you want to be when you grew up?

I went through a few phases myself: Astronaut, Ninja (this lasted longer than you'd think and longer than I'm proud of), Engineer, and Special effects guru. I settled for a Communications major and a minor in Film Theory. Bah.

So what did you kids draw on Career day?

Well, when I was a young girl I wanted to be many things. Some of those things were rather silly. I wanted to be a part of Utopia, T2M, even. I also wanted to be a singer. That I am, amung other things. I do sing, and wile I do make more money than I could ever need from my music, I make most of my money threw other means.

I could Join Utopia, but that really isn't for me. I do not mean to say that they are evil, wrong or half of what some novas say they are. I just believe I can do more good from within the company I work for now.

When I was a kid, I wanted to be normal. When I was at high school, I wanted to be liked. When I was at university, I wanted to be married. When I was married, I wanted a divorce. When I was divorced, I wanted to be left alone. When I was left alone, I wanted to get laid. When I got laid, I wanted to join T2M. When I joined T2M, I wanted to make a difference. When I made a difference, I watched my girlfriend get killed and wanted all Elites dead. When I met an Elite, I ended up falling in love with him.

Kinda funny how what you want and what you get are two different things, eh? And how what you think you want and what you really want can be so diametrically opposed to each other that it ain't funny.

That's it for now. :P

Ok I looked it up. Gwailo is so an ethnic slur....for a white man. ?

This is just getting petty. I listen to a group with the same name as you. My apologies if that offended you....but the Chef has been on the Opnet before..simple mistake. Obviously we have a culture difference that involves a lot of canine insults about smelling asses. I'm done.

I'm a police officer, Mr. Horrorshow.
I captain the Nova Enforcement Division of the Greater Metropolitian Boston Police Department.

Since doing a simple OpSearch is beyond you, let me add that I am a graduate of Harvard Law School and father of the nova Neil Preston.

When I was itty bitty I wanted to be like mom and be a waitress. But...it didn't take to long to figure out that such a profession would be no fun at all. I think I remember also going through periods of wanting to be a rock star, a nurse, President of the United States, a fire fighter, a mortician, a telephone operator, a housewife, a fortune teller. There's probably a few more I don't remember...

Well, we all in our own way want to make the world a better place. We may not think about others, but most people that do not think about others tend to think the world is picking on them. Then they want to change the world, cause it is not fair.

When I was young, I wanted to be many things, and was told I could never be many things as well. I was told it was silly of me to think I could be president, and it was silly to think that I could go into space.Yes, there was a time when women were not let into such job,and I am old enough to have lived in those times. I was told many things, and some of those thing changed my needs and wants. I in the end can't really say that I wanted to be anyone thing, but rather that I wanted to be someone that made the world a better place. I have done that, and I can look out into the world knowing that countless lives are better because of actions I did.

Well, I definitely didn't think I'd end up a psych major. I always wanted to be a nova, though. Course, they didn't have that on career day. I think on career day, I ended up doing the airline circuit. You know, pilot, attendant, that biz. Not that I wanted to be there, I just had to pick something. They didn't have rock star or spiritual entity as a choice.

I suppose I could chime in here...

When I was a kid, I wanted to be a firefighter, a professional athlete, a foundry worker like my father, things like that. I settled on wanting to be a professional football player and fantasically rich and famous. I was well on my way in high school, even helped get the team to state twice. Unfortunately, I was not very intelligent as a baseline and could not even get into a college based on athletics. After I erupted, well... football has fallen by the wayside so I had to "settle" on being rich and famous.

And much like my better half, I found out that really was not what I wanted. However, it took me much longer than it took her. shocked

Ok. I'm tired of this.

Digi, I'm saying this to you as someone who doesn't want to tear your fool head off.

FOR CHRIST'S SAKE!!! WE GET IT ALREADY. YOU HAVE POINTY EARS!!! GOOD FOR YOU!!! NOW DROP IT!!!

It would be like me saying "As an incredibly well-endowed stack of muscle I think...." each and every time I post. Get over yourself already. Change your name to Legolas, Fairyboy the Dancer, Butterfly Humper, or Glitterleaf the Hopper of Too and Fro if you've that much of a complex about it. But just knock it off. You sound like one of those sad little goths who always has to point out how unendingly miserable they are. It isn't interesting. Not even close.

I was fucking Joking VB. IT WAS A DAMN JOKE!

I really don't give a fuck what I look like. It was me being a joker. As for my signature, if it gets your panties in a bunch so much, it's gone!

Jeesus age christ, man! Stop being so damn uptight!

They need a fucking "just joking" tag around here.

Who wouldn't?
Those who were grown up before 1998.You would be amazed how many of those people are still around. Also some people who are novas now wouldn't wish there problems on anyone else. You should try finding Leo. Leo is not pleased with being a nova.

Leo, is well a nova who doesn't know who "he" is. Leo, has no past, and is in a rather strange state of being, as Leo is neither male nor female. Leo can't live on earth either.I should resate this, Leo can't live below something like 6 KM above see level.I think it is because our air and his lungs no longer get along. So Poor Leo.

Strange is what you call mstory.I have not hidden my past, you just haven't looked for it. The fact that I do not flaunt my abilities or person is not the same as hiding them. By the way you are invited to my party at the Shining, in Hollywood. It is going to a bash.

Is Blue Cherry only a Butterfly dreaming of being Dreamer?

Why the hell does this sound EXACTLY like Blue Cherry's "Did I mess the Memo" crap when she went on about her not flaunting her abilities/actions. This was of course in response to someone asking a question that merited details. Weird mysterious defense mech. :sigh:

Has anyone told "Poor Leo" about getting a breathing apparatus? Hell, they made one for the Creature of the Black Lagoon for the third sequel, I'm sure any nova could throw together a pressurized Water suit without too much trouble. (See, watching every fucking Horror movie you stumble on helps occasionally.)

If people can make keyboards for the human beanbag I'm sure someone could help the poor androgynous fishman.

And hell, if he's neither male nor female, then he's qualified to join the QNA...They always support the transgendered Novas out there.

Yes. Is it not amazing that although Leo cannot survive at surface level atmosphere, he survived long enough to discover he cannot survive there, discovered where he could live, and lived long along to actually relocate there? Isn't it impressive that Leo has some manner of perpetually remaining above the 6 KM mark that keeps him alive, that he had it when he discovered his inability to breath surface air?

I find it incalculably absurd that everyone here seems to know a Nova whose unique condition proves some point they are trying to make. Very few Novas in the world, but if everything posted about every single "unique" nova was true, we would seemingly know them all intimately.
