T-dev
I'm just starting to run an Aberrant table-top campaign. One or the major NPc's of the game, the sort of guru/group mentor type, is ,to make a long story short, a time traveler from far in the future came back to make sure history comes out right. The long term meta-plot is that the PC's & some other novas use a spacecraft (& lots of quantum powers) to flee Earth before the Aberrant War & establish a civilization on a distant star. As far as timeline & most stuff goes, I'm sticking pretty close to cannon. So any advise or comments.
Sakurako Hino
Sounds good, but what if one of your players, knowing what the future holds, tries to change that future? by entering in time travel to a game's equation, you risk disaster. Kirby1024
If I recall correctly, Jager went Sideways, not back in time. Still, incredibly similar, yah OK, Time travel, lemme see... Try the "Fuzzy Timeline" approach. You see, Time is this tricky thing, and travelling through can cause the strangest things to happen. Think the Butterfly Effect - Time never goes the same way twice through.Other than that, the sky really is the limit. There are too many ideas that you can involve yourself with. Oh and be careful for Cthulu's brother Gthulu if you're travelling through time - My Adventure! crew managed to trap him in non-time...
T-dev
I like the fuzzy time approach; however it's not a PC, but a NPC, so I don't have to worry about screwing the time-line up. Also, the guy's plan involves taking stuff away from Earth (you know, the whole Ark thing), so whatever he does really won't effect the canon too much. To be honest, the main thrust of the campaign is the PC doing stuff for the guy & getting stuff ready for the trip. I've thought a lot about the setting the guy came from. I think it would make an interesting alternate Aberrant. If anybody'sinterested
Jager
No, Ashnod. It isn't an incarnation of me that I am aware of. Jager's background isn't exaclty original, though. I think I first came across it in a L. Spruge DeCamp novel from 1939, "Less Darkness Fall".
