RPG Post
Hello, my name is Anna 'Renaissance' Lei, and I am offering several ceramics for sale. I can provide descriptions over private mail if you are interested, and I assure you that I was doing this for years before I erupted. I have pieces are on show in the New York Art Gallery, Much Good Fortune Gallery (it is a private gallery, and please excuse my translation) in Taiwan and Yale University's student art collection if you wish to have a preview. Please private mail me if you are interested. Thank you.
Hugin
I am interested. I've heard of your work. I'd like to make a public offer. For all of them.Make a price.
kestrel404
I have not had a chance to see your work in person, but I have perused an opnet image archive and I think they are quite lovely, and unique. But I'm more of a research scientist than an art critic, so I'm just as interested in the physical properties of your works.Do your pieces exhibit any strange and interesting properties? Incredible hardness, low or high density, flexibility after being 'baked'? If not, do you plan on trying these out?As an artist, you probably enjoy pushing boundaries. As a nova, you are more capable of this than anyone before you in your field. Experiment with the unique and the novel. Sorry if I sound like a lecturer, but I like your work and I think you can do much more with your powers. If you get stuck when trying out something interesting, give me a call. I'm know quite a bit about the material sciences, and I'm very good with detail work.
H. 'Machine' Mann
Renaissance, I enjoy your work and would welcome the opportunity to own one or two of the pieces you have available. I would also like to inquire whether you're willing to do commissions. I'd very much like to see your interpretation of an idea or or two I have. Please contact me if you're willing. RPG Post
Mr Prodigy:I can provide you with a set of five vases for twenty thousand dollars. I am flattered by your wish to buy all of my work, but I have a couple of pieces reserved for Utopians and one for a DeVries elite. These are the Rainbow Cherry Blossom design (iridescent patina over a Japanese black and white floral pattern with pink highlights for those unfamiliar with my work) and consist of a shallow bowl, a double-handled vase, a standard 'Western' design, a stylised flower and an experimental piece that involves distorted angles. If you wish another set, please, ask me and I'll make it.Mr Roberts:I can only alter the shape of things, not their composition. What I do with juice, baseline potters have been doing for centuries with hands and kiln. Thank you for your interest, however.Mr Mann:I do commissions occasionally; most people get annoyed with my interpretation of things. However, I can offer a Woven Vase (strips of clay woven in and out like a basket) in any colour you wish for five thousand dollars.Thank you all. kestrel404
When you think about it, composition is merely an appropriate positioning of atoms or shaping of molecules. That is why I say I am good with detail work. But if you want to stick to the traditional form, I cannot fault you.
Singularity
Renaissance: I have a five piece commission request.1 15 cm wide, 6 cm deep bowl1 20 cm high, 7 cm wide glass/pilsnerI want both items to be simple and elegant. No handles, no attachments. The other three items I leave to you. Wild, avant-garde, minuscule, or massive: whatever you wish. I promise they will be appreciated and well maintained. Neil Preston
Cool. Can't say I want to order anything right this second, but I still think this is a nice idea.
Hugin
Renaissance, more than acceptable. I'll have the funds delivered to you within 24 hours in the form of a cashiers check. Hand the items over to the delivery person. Thank you.
RPG Post
Mr Alden:The bowl and pilsner are ready. They are pearlescent grey with a simple line of bluish patina at the edge. I have included a French Green Leaf vase (18th-century French-style 'carved' molding of leaves on a plain green background) in standard Western pattern, a Rainbow Cherry Blossom urn and a jug to match your bowl and pilsner. I hope they fulfill your expectations. All up, it's fifteen thousand.Mr Prodigy:I got the cheque, thank you very much. Even after tax, I was able to cover a year at an exclusive 'prep' kindergarten for my four-year-old twin sibs Robert and Marianne. Thank you again.I apologise for my high prices compared to other ceramics artists, but I am a master despite my young age. To the best of my knowledge, I am the only novox artist who works exclusively in ceramics.
Singularity
I am sure the pieces are excellent. Following Prodigy's lead, I will send a representative with a cashier's check for the specified amount and a bonus for completing the order so quickly. H. 'Machine' Mann
The woven vases are exquisite Ms Lei, though I was more interested in the meditation bowl that Mr Meehan has beaten me to. I am still interested in the commission work and your interpretations will not be a problem. When you are ready I will provide three words. You create what these three words conjure from your imagination with your gifts. I purchase the end result. If this is satisfactory please contact me by private mail. I ask only that you not share the three words but are otherwise free to speak on, or describe, the work howsoever you should desire.Feel no need to apologise. It is only money after all. Hugin
Renaissance, upon examination of your work I consider the money more than well spent. You are gifted beyond words and I salute you. As for the level of your prices, I would say with some degree of self-assurance that you are underestimating the value of your work.Any who might wish to view the works if they are considering investing in the lovely lady's work themselves can see them at New Ground in Tokyo. RPG Post
Mr Alden:I received your cheque, thank you. If you do not mind, I may turn the set I made for you into a regular line as several other people have expressed interest in the design and colouration. As for speed, well, I make about a hundred works a day if I'm doing nothing else. There are advantages to being a nova, after all.Mr Prodigy... Or would you prefer Meehan?:Thank you for your compliments. Getting a good word from a man with more IQ than myself and my family put together is quite an honour. As for my prices, compared to other novox artists they are moderate, but what need do I really have for money? My younger brother James attends an exclusive boy's school in New Jersey; my younger sisters Veronica and Tabitha attend an equally prestigious girls' school right here in New York City; and the twins are at that 'prep' school you paid for. I attend Yale and am working my way into an Arts PhD. We live in a three-bedroom apartment in Manhattan and I even have someone come in twice a week to do the cleaning. Beyond that, I have no needs, so I do not need or want money all that much. It's funny; before I erupted, money was the most important thing to my family since we were always starving. Now, it is no longer a concern for me unless one of my siblings' school bills is coming in. I am a sixteen-year-old girl with full custody of her younger siblings; not old enough to drink or even get laid in this city, but I have accomplished more in two years than most ever will in their lives. If that does not mean I am more than human, I don't know what is. The Terats are correct on that point. But just because I am more than human does not mean I can forget what being 'just' human meant. It does not mean I am immune to the responsibilities 'just' humans possess. There, I must respectfully disagree with you.Do not worry; I believe in sharing my art with everyone. Utopian, DeVries, Aberrant, Terat; it does not matter to me who you are, so long as you appreciate my work.Sorry for the soapbox. I will step off it now. Singularity
I have no problems with you making that a regular line of products. In fact, I feel rather honored to have received the first set.Again I will echo Prodigy: exquisite work.
H. 'Machine' Mann
My politics are my own but the work really is exquisite. I look forward to finalizing the price of the commission and seeing the pieces for myself.
Jager
Renaissance, what are the limitations on your work? How small can you make something? How large a project would you undertake?
