[OpNet] Oglala Pow Wow in July.

Recommended Posts

Hi everyone,

Just letting you know that the Oglala will be hosting our annual July Pow Wow. I have agreed to be there to generate some interest and perform a few ceremonies. (Yes I am nervous about that) The council is expecting a much larger turnout than normal since it is my "coming out" event. (Yipee)

If any one of you would like to come feel free. The opening dance will be on the first and it will last pretty much all month. Good food and good times.

I realize it isn't the Amp room or some glitzy big city club but I hope some of you can make it. If you would like more details let me know or check the Oglala event site in my profile.

Depending on if it's hot or not, I might bring some extra air-conditioned shelters for the added number of people coming to the event.

I have always wanted to develop a fast-deploying festival tent capable of hosting 5000... With connectible sub-sections for 100 to 500 people each...

It's all gratis for a friend, Totem, my boy. And afterward, your tribe could make it a 365 days a year youth center. ^.^

Hey, I'm bored, I gotta build when I get an idea flowing... NASA got some other brainiac doing colony shelter designs, so I'll stick to more down to earth stuff. ^.^

Actually Sakurako there is something else you can help me with. I need a staff. Something about 15 feet long. I would do it myself but I need something of extreme durability. If you want you can decorate it yourself otherwise I can. The most important thing it needs is some of my feathers tied to the top.

Also if it is possible could you research War Bonnets and see if you could make one? Not for me actually. I am wanting to give one made of my feathers to grandfather for his birthday coming up this summer. Let me know.

If you would need reimbursement just let me know I am pretty sure I can cover it.

A Pow Wow, how facinating. I will be there Totem. As an offer of friendship and respect, I would like to create your staff for you. It will be made out of solid crystal though, very durable crystal that is. I will leave it to you to finish the decorations, but if there is any design you would like for the staff itself, please tell me.

Thanks for the offers of assist. I will be sending you some details for the items Sakurako. Feel free to give me a call if you need more detail.

Avatar the crystal offer is appreciated I would ask if you are very detailed with your abilities if you could possibly consider working on an item for the council. I know they are still discussing a wounded knee memorial if you are interested let me know.

Lemmy don't worry everyone comes to the pow wows and all are welcome if you want to come you are welcome to. As far as what this is going to make me? Nothing much more than I already am I think. It's just a lot of people want to see me with there own eyes and I can't blame them for their reasons I guess.

Oh also has anyone sent me any packages by Nova delivery? I recieved a strange package the other day. I like it's contents I would just like to know who sent it.

Well for the record I would like to tell everyone here. Nothing is expected from you. This isn't something that you need to perform at or bring a gift to. Just come enjoy the food and have a beer or some lemonade.

Thank you for the gift Prodigy. I am curious as to where they came from but answer as you feel fit to since some might think it rude to ask questions about a gift.

I appreciate the good nature of your invitation. I will do my best to avoid issues when I am there. While I may be a changed man, others may not have noticed the difference.

I am afraid I cannot admit to the location or manner of acquiring those items. I can guarantee they are genuine. And more recently harvested than one would expect.

I'll be there. My car's totalled, so I guess I'll fly.

That'll probably be my first long distance flight. I hope I don't get too lost.

Do you need any help in set up? I'd be glad to help, and the Facility people are always telling me I need practice.

*peeks in*

I'll send you the GPS point once I get all the stuff to the location. I might need some help moving the solar-powered heatsink cooling units into postion before deploying the shelters. Don't worry, the cooling units are about 100 pds each. Well within your ability limits.

Once the shelters are up, we can enjoy the festivities in 72 degree comfort. These shelters are also HUGE.

It's amazing once you know how to make space-worthy inflatable shelters, how you can incorporate the design philosophy into a movable structure that can be used permanently if need-be. ^.^

You could fly rather low and follow the various interstate highways with a map to get in the general area. From there you should be able to see the festivities.

If no one minds, my brother and I would like to attend.

Now that I am mobile again (thanks to Neil Preston), and since Utopia is still working on what to do with Carlos, we've been talking about seeing the countryside. He's been stuck in his park for a week now, and hiking would do us both some good.

Senior Totem, would you mind our attendance?

No need for the blue, but thanks, I'd really appreciate a chance to get out. You don't think my appearance will be a problem do you? I know they accept you, but you're one of the boys. I'm an outsider and The Frisco Kid aside I don't know of how Jews and Native Americans have gotten along.

*lol*

That was my favorite movie, C.

Trust me, at the very least this Elf don't mind ya one bit.

Man, I love this year. I mean, at what other time would you see an Elf, someone that looks like the Cookie Monster, a Gryphon, and an Anime Girl. All in one place?

Damn, it feels good being a Nova.

As I said anyone who wishes to come can come. I have been talking to Sheriff White-Elk about restricting press on the reservation since it seems that the nova turn out might be over 20 or even 30. If that is the case the PapaRats will be coming out of the wood work. So we are trying to keep in low profile enough for everyone who wants to come and have a good time.

April, get yourself a GPS watch.

Hey, good idea. I'll do that.

I'll send you the GPS point once I get all the stuff to the location.

k

I don't know how long it'll take me to get from here to there - maybe a few hours? I guess this'll be a good chance to see how fast I can move, huh?

Depends on where you live, April.

If you're somewhere on the North American continent, you should be able to make it to South Dakota easily. That is where it is happening, right, Totem?

If worse comes to worse, I can pick you up and fly you there by jet, or I can meet you at your home city and we can fly tandem if you're uncomfortable flying alone.

Besides, before hand I'd like to get to meet you. You seem to be a nice person. Perhaps some "girl talk time" flying to the fesitval might be fun.

*smiles* We're gonna have quite a reunion here! ^o^

I'll be glad to see you in calmer surroundings, Codex. I'd also like to see how that brace is doing. Does it need any new adjustments? I'd just like to know how it's working out since I originally designed it for aquatic use and didn't know it was going to be used on land.

It works well, Endeavour. I had the Talaud techs make a couple of slight adjustments. I didn't want to ask you for more than one brace.

How's your family sword going? I fixed it up after the voyage, and if it doesn't look good as new, I'm going to have some long words with it.
