RPG Post
StarCraft II: Wings of Liberty Demo Finally Available "> " type="application/x-shockwave-flash" wmode="transparent" width="425" height="350"> [end_news_blurb]Six months after the game was released there is finally a playable demo. I downloaded it last night and played through the demo. The demo consists of the first 3 missions of the campaign. It took me about an hour to finish the demo.I thought the game was fun but not revolutionary. I may get the full game later on when the price goes down, but it wasn't something that I want to spend $50 on right now. But the demo is free and I think it is worth checking out.You can download the StarCraft II: Wings of Liberty Demo here.
jameson (ST)
From what I have heard Blizzard didn't really set out to break the mold or revolutionize RTSs but instead wanted a game full of polish that capitalized on a certain amount of under-ripe nostalgia. Granted I haven't played, so I don't know if the polish is there, or if the hype is just that.
Justin OOC
I have really enjoyed the game since I bought it
BlueNinja
I have the game. While it's not game-breakingly new or awesome, it is great fun, and a great deal of attention was made to the missions. (Especially the Great Train Robbery!) The only thing I don't like is utterly invincible badguys - I mean, at least give me a small chance to kill the damn thing. Or abuse my cheat codes. SalmonMax
Which badguys are invincible?Besides Kerrigan of course. But she has to be, for story purposes.
BlueNinja
I was thinking of the you-know-what in the bonus mission. That chases you, is utterly invulnerable, and you basically have to use your troops as delaying sacrifices to make it out with Raynor.
SalmonMax
Oh that! Hee.You don't HAVE to sacrifice troops, really. Though that does make it easier. Judicious use of the Time Gun and it'll pause to kill Zerg it sees too.But yeah, I'm glad that's a bonus mission, not a plot one!
