Wakinyan
Hello again all.Just wanted to let you all know first that I got the Voice command for my PC and it seems to work okay. It has some issues if I get loud but if I take my time it does the job. Still waiting on that keyboard but I am glad you're sending it Mr. Meehan. Even better news, I got a job! Well not a full time job but it is still a job! I am doing a one shot XWF Red Circle fight with Ravana in Chicago week after next! I met with Mr. Bartlett's people and they said I have the perfect look for the XWF and, if I am well received I might be offered a fulltime contract! Granted I don't relish the idea of getting thumped around by the four armed guy for a few minutes but for 500k I will take a beat down. Not that I plan on losing Mind you! Any of you that might be around Chicago a week from next monday stop in and cheer for me and if you like say hi! I haven't really got to meet many other Novas yet and I would really like to do so.T. Jager
Totem, you can take him!!!He's got no stamina and a high center of gravity. Take him to the mat!!!(Unless, of course, the fix is in. Don't piss off these guys.)
Lemmy Chillmeister
500K?Dude, I got to talking to El Hombre Supremo (two time, two time, two time Silver Circle Champ!!) at a QNA soire and he gave me some of the deep nasty on the financial picture. You are getting sooooooooo screwed. Even for a total newbie. You're look, you could have gotten way more bank.

Jager
Lemmy, look at the marketing side of things. Will a 14 foot Griffon-like wrestler move things off the shelf, or scare people away (yes, XWF fans qualify as people)?Lemmy, you in the ring would cost a whole lot more, but you come with built in appeal and fanbase.Totem has a far-harder road to hoe. He's gotta prove to the boys at the box office that he can bring in the interest. It is harder to tell if his look will attract or repel. Life is unfair that way.Yes, they are robbing him at a mesley 500K, but he is looking at what ...Two weeks of training, max., plus one night's performance?End of Wrestling economics 101.Totem, check the contract. You are almost certainly covered from civil lititagtion, but I'm not sure if you get any medical coverage.Oh, yeah ... watch yourself out there. It may not be real combat, but novas do get killed on rare occasions.
Jager
Jason, check out the Opsite for the skinny on the XWF. Also, check out the official N!Prime site for the expose they did on The Catalyst/Ashnod vs. XWF encounter a few years back. The truth is somewhere in the middle. He's a 14 foot Griffon. XWF is all about offering the yokels something NEW. Why do you think SuperBeast is so fucking popular? Why do they dress guys up like goddamn squids? Why do they make a big deal out of the fact that Core has got them burning eyes? Because it says right off the bat "This ain't you're Momma's wrestling. It ain't guyz in tightz pulling off bogus planned shit. These are monsters in the ring battling it out for glory, right in front of your working class ass." He's getting taken. If he was some smoothly muscled guy with nothing special except for the fact that he's so strong he could ram his dick through an engine block, well yeah, I can see the lowball offer. But Totem is a one of a fucking kind dude. He's a monster right out of mythology. They don't have to give him a wicked name or cool costume to lure people in. They just gotta point at him and say "Look at that motherfucker!! You ever seen anything like him before?!?!"

Wakinyan
Heh, Well hopefully others will see it that way. I feel kinda nervous knowing Millions of people could be watching live or will watch it. I might be getting ripped off but for now I will take what they give. If I hit the big time I will look at the big bucks and hire some Nova sportsagent or something. It's not all roses though my grandfather is hardly talking to me. He mummbled something about taking the land first and now the spirit. He's a bit of a loon. I told him I was doing this for him just as much as anyone else. Also do any of you know a Dr. Caleb? He emailed me today wishing me good luck.
Sakurako Hino
You know something, reading about all this, I realize that about 90% of the Nova XWF fighters would crunch me into nice bite-sized bits. Unless they let me bring in my phased electro-mag emmiter gauntlets and my kinetic force adaptive armor. Then I'd have a slim chance. ^o^
Jager
Dr. Caleb eh? That's a talk for another time.Endeavor, that's what accessorizing is all about!! Besides, they marketing cut of the guantlet knock-offs would be stellar. See what they say. Maybe you and Totem could have a jobber match?

Longboard
on steroids is right, but more like mite.. woah that rhymed. XWF is sooo lame, half the itme its just mitoids anyhow, and When it is Core, superbeast or any of the really GOOOD superstars its all fixed half the time. come on how come theres always a camera crew around when theyre not in the ring and a "Surprise attack happens?"LAmeness squared
Sakurako Hino
LB, there are alot of things the XWF has that throw back to the days of Pro Wrestling. I've thought of it myself, but how the hell are they supposed to tell a story? Is Opera fake because it's "scripted"?There is alot the XWF has that it inherited from WCW/WWE back in the late 90's. That means alot of "convenient" camera moments. There's alot the XWF people that frequent here can tell you, but I bet even odds there's alot they cannot. Longboard
You know, I just figure now in these days, with people all nova'd out.. theyred be a tad more reality involved. 's too bad
Sakurako Hino
It's the spectacle created by a Nova's power. It's like a drug. Hell, I've heard of a few Novas that like watching fights like this. Few, very few. It's mostly a Human problem. Perhaps we put off an addictive radiation? Or perhaps it's something more primal?Anyways, although I find the storylines and drama in the XWF cute, I prefer something more of a sport. I haven't seen something akin to the K-1 for Novas... yet...
Bastian
Longboard, are you advocating baseline bloodsports for mass consumption?I do not think there are enough of us for the One Race to engage in casual slaughter of our own, despite the fact that is what is being done to us far too often.
Longboard
not at all dude. Im saying with the gifts and talents we have as novas, we should be using our gifts and talents to further our each and own individual end. definitley NOT misused for BS combat that has been scripted out by a baseline like rick Flair who is just another baseline in a long line of um.. basleines that are trying to stand on our shoulders to further THEIR own end. My fame comes from the deeds I have done in the real world, not from beating down mitoids, or from selling myself out to the MAN.
Essex
Hate to break it to you Longboard but XWF is just another acting gig. I spent a season on the XWF as mook named Pulsar. Good money for the regular poundings I took. The thing is guys, just because a fight is scripted, doesn't mean no one gets hurt. A high intensity energy blast still hurts whether you were scripted to get hit or not.
Ashnod
Deaths occur in XWF matches. They are not all scripted. Do not believe what Essex is telling you.
Essex
I didn't say all the fights are scripted, I said it's an acting gig. Just because you can pound the living hell out of someone doesn't mean you have a good enough stage/screen presence to make it in the XWF; And yes, some of the fights ARE scripted. This is a money making industy and only a fool would believe that the men in charge won't do what they need to do to make sure revenues stay high. Sometimes That means fights are scripted among other things.
Jager
One of the interesting thing is who dies "accidently". I'm just glad all the deaths were thuroughly investigated and most found to be "no faults".
DigiGeist
It's always a stick wicket when something like this occurrs. There's those that want to shut it down, and those that want to make it "safe" because the kids just love Core.I don't know if it's the camos or the brutally kick-butt enterance music, but Core is THE MAN. Unless Lance Stryker is around, then HE is the man.At least that's how it goes with the young-uns these days. Quite frankly, I'll stick to the comic books, because that's pretty much what the XWF is. A living, breathing, comic book.
Neil Preston
Sorry, but I find something distrubing about a "sport" that has a higher mortality rate than high-rise construction. Not just the novas, but the mitiods who are drawn into it. I don't mean to be a wet blanket, but I know what that stuff does to people, and it isn't pretty, or reversible.
David 'Dr. Troll' Smith
None of the matches I have taken part in were faked, or scripted in any way (well, after the match started they weren't). Admittedly I only do the "Celebrity Deathmatch" stuff and am not a "regular". I'll never get a title shot, and yes, there is a lot of hype. But it is low risk, easy money, and good fun. I send a clone into the ring and his opponent tries to kill me, but I'm not allowed to return the favor. It lacks a bit in the dignity department, but so what? I like to think of it as furthering my evolution. When I signed up with Utopia I fought hard to made sure my contract stated I could still have a couple of matches a year. Quote:Neil Preston:I find something distrubing about a "sport" that has a higher mortality rate than high-rise construction. Not just the novas, but the mitiods who are drawn into it.Most of my fellow XWF'ers would probably be elites if they weren't in the ring. This is much less dangerous. As for the mitoids, don't confuse the evils of the XWF with the evils of drug addition. Those guys were mitoids before they joined, you just don't get like them overnight. Most of them are taking mite to be like us novas, or to try and trigger their eruption. From their point of view by exposing them to quantum we are doing them a favor. Wakinyan
I cannot say much about the fight since I got a NDA stuffed in front of my beak as soon as I agreed to do it. I can say that they offered me excellent medical coverage.

Hugin
And how is that any worse than Totentaz, Pursuer or Quantum Infinite? Nearly any Nova, except for those harmless types such as myself, who decides to take up a lifestyle filled with agression and violence should be considered quite formidable. Jake Cosmos Stafford
In any case if you bent your mind to it James you could be a veritable angle of destruction, with items you could create. Matryoshka
In life, anyone with enough drive can devastate large parts of the world.Novas just can do so with less effort.I could set up bombs threw out a large area that would go off at key times, and thus causing chaos among the mases. The fact that I am a nova only makes the planing easier. You see, in a way we are above baselines. This is a pure fact, and I could argue many cases why this is true. But never underestamate the power of a man who thinks god is on his side. Jager
James is harmless.I know this because I saw the sunrise today. Now, if the sun isn't there tomorrow morning, I know who to ask about it, though.Signy, I'm not worried. God told me he's on my side, and I believe him. "I'm not afraid of the guy who wants a dozen nukes. I'm afraid of the guy who wants just one."PeacemakerI'm not too afraid of someone who wants to waste a dozen cities, or enleash a devestating plague. I am far more afraid of the one who wants to kill all the plankton in the oceans, and/or all the cereal grains.Three subspecies of rice feed 80%+ of India and SouthEast Asia.Five grain subtypes make up 95%+ of the staples in North America, Europe, North Africa, and Northern India. There are less than a dozen key forms of plankton in the ocean. It is the basis for all other living things in the sea. Without them, you get algea blooms, fish kills, and it gets worse, fast. The key factor is reaction time compared to the infection rate. Twenty people die from some new form of flu, and the hammer comes down. To get that kind of reaction time elsewhere, you are looking at anywhere from 35% to 80% infection. That's 1/3 to 3/4 of that food stock gone. Think about it.
