Alex Craft
Well, it's like this:It's been just about two years since I left Project Utopia and went into semi-retirement. At the time, I thought I'd enjoy it - no stress, no boss...In actuality, I'm so bored that I can't express it in words. So, I'm looking for a job. I've put out some feelers, gotten back a few so-so offers. I figured I'd try my luck here, since I haven't been plugged into the nova community for a while now.Basically, if you're aware of any interesting jobs open (or if you yourself are employing), let me know. I'm a generalist - good for most any non-combat occupation. In the past, I've worked in public relations, legal, counseling, scientific research, and (pre-eruption) secondary education. I also have some specialization with quantum phenomena, nova physiology/psychology, and nova-baseline interactions.Any thoughts?
Sakurako Hino
What sort of Legal experience do you have? I may be interested in an on-call legal consultant, or perhaps even an On-Call lawyer. If there's nothing going on, I still pay to retain your services.I trust a Nova lawyer more than a Human one. *sigh*
Alex Craft
If you're looking for a trial lawyer, I don't have experience there. I've only ever done contracts and such. Don't get me wrong, I'm always willing to try something new - it's just that if you want someone with court experience, that's not me.Something I should add: It probably wouldn't be a good idea for me to work to closely with the Utopia or Triton. While I don't believe that they actively wish me harm, we aren't on very good terms.
Sakurako Hino
No trial experience required. I got several on speed dial. I just need someone with Civil experience. More of a consultant more than anything else.
David 'Dr. Troll' Smith
Go back to Utopia. Oh, and please mention my name so I get the "Nova employee recruited" bonus.
Sakurako Hino
They give bonuses for recruiting? Man, are you guys a multi-national organization, or Avon-Maybeline?
Miss Baby
Alex,I would love to hire you,but I can't pay as much as most.On the plus size you get to work in forming a state, built for novas.
Alex Craft
Endeavor:In that case, I'll pop a resume in your direction. Still leaving options open, though.Go back to Utopia.Sorry, no. Took me a decade to leave, and I ain't going back....built for novas.Interesting problem, but not really my ideology.
Neil Preston
Mr. Craft, stay self-employed. After all, you get to help out were you like, as most people will still be glad to accept any assistance you offer.Don't look for the job to come to you, go to the job. I find it works for me. Sakurako Hino
Alex, I'll let you know as soon as possible. I hope you don't mind living in Japan... that is one of the requirements for the job. Do not worry, until you can find a place of residence, I will be more than happy to allow you to live at Endeavor Point. I have 2 guest houses. Gotta use one for more than storage. ^.^
Meridian
India Novas Consolidated, Inc. is always looking for good Nova talent. Depending on what you are looking for I’m pretty sure that I could put in a good word for you. The tech restrictions are a bit looser in India than some other places and there is plenty of opportunity for PR and some of the other skills you mentioned as well. It’s true that they do look to hire Indian novas first but even in the land of ‘nova plenty’ there are too few of us and slots are always open.I’ve greatly enjoyed spending time in a non-western culture. While I’ve leaned plenty in Japan and other places India has some very special things to offer. The history, meditation techniques, and landscape are all unique. It’s a good place to be right now. Sakurako Hino
Seesh Alex, you're in demand my boy.Anyways, I'm good for hiring ya, just look at your other offers first. If something sweeter comes your way, I won't take it as an insult if you decline my offer.Positive or Negative, I await your reply.

And you think that I hate baselines?Let me explain, baseline laws aren't written with novas in mind.Take me,for example,if I even slip,I could harm or kill a baseline. If I have a bad day,I can't let my temper slip,as if I do riots happen.Under the law as it is, a slip of my hand is at least 9 years in prison. I was sued one time becuase someone cut himself wile trying to stab me...

Jager
Hey, Alex. If you want to bury your old life and forget the world as you knew it, we should talk. Otherwise, I wish you all the best luck and happiness in whatever you decide to do.
Alex Craft
Endeavor:I like Japan - never lived there before, but I have no problems with doing so. BTW, thanks for the elbow room.Jager:The Devil you know...Ghetto Funk Baby:I'm not a separationist. I have no reason to be, practical or philosophical. Sounds like you do, though, and that's cool - I'm not making accusations.
Miss Baby
And Craft do you think I am alone in this stance?Any nova who can throw a car, blast threw walls, talk crowds into riots, out think MIT,move faster than sound,is in the same boat.Just not for the same reasons.I do wish to be different in such ways, but I am.And if you have a bad day,and level a building by mistake, you will be lucky to get out in 20 years.I think the teragen have it wrong...I never was given a talk threw by god.I just live, and deal with problems, like everyone else. Alex Craft
This isn't really a debate I'm interested in getting into here.Suffice to say that I, personally, have no reason to isolate myself from baseline humans, and I also enjoy being in human population centers. I'm not projecting an opinion on you or any other separatist.
Neil Preston
Ghetto Funk Baby, why don't you open a new thread with your ideas on a nova state, or your version of one, for us to discuss.

Alex Craft
Meridian:Having taken a look at some of INC's work, I'd certainly be interested in contributing. The 'taint'-related research I've seen is particularly impressive. I would appreciate it if you'd pass on my credentials (check your mailbox). Let me know if they're interested. Alex Craft
Thanks all.I've been talking to INC, and it looks like I'll be signing on - contract's being finalized.I would have been glad to do business with you, Endeavor, but research science is a little more my 'thing.' I'd offer to look over any one-off jobs you need, but I assume you've got plenty of full-timers to take care of that, right? ( ;
