Lemmy Chillmeister
Hey there headbangers! Now, I know I am newbie-ultimo-maximo but I gotta ask this. What the fuck is up with you people? I mean really, going to space, battling to the death in Egypt, challenging each other, talking philosophy like you're trying to decide the fate of the universe. What's up with all that. And I know it ain't just a weird patch, I've read some of the archives here and it just gets weirder. Hunting for Forbidden Cities, Blue Monkeys, Threats, Combat Training, ParaMilitary SuperCommando Guys, etc etc. I mean really, shit people, don't you ever just, I dunno, live or something? Now, I ain't about hiding my head in the sand and hugging zips. I ain't talking that. No, but I mean, just living life. Have a career, see the world (This world dammit!) bitch about taxes and the job the President's doing (or Prime Minister or Generallisimo or whatever your Chief BottleWasher is called.) Something other than trying to live like you wear spandex under yer clothes and have cape with a big ass 'S' on it.Now, I ain't human, so I ain't going there. But does that mean I suddenly gotta act like I'm Superdude or something.Color me confused.
Sakurako Hino
You and me both. I've asked the same question. Quite frankly, I'm not a fan of going around playing hero or buttkicker. All I really need is a comfy chair, a good book, and some nice music. But, you see, I have something that Walker calls a Jinx. Just when I think I'm able to just relax, something whacks me upside the head.Or then again, I sort of make my own luck. That's why I'm here. I pushed too hard too fast. But, that's how I'm learning my lessons in life I guess...But it is the wrong path. That's why I'm trying to learn how to live a life that is the point of your question. As for the space trips... Let's just say it's something some here like doing, or in Sandy's case, it's how she's going to find god...Me, I like being in zero-g. It's a different experience. Not to mention it gives me an excuse to own a spacesuit. ~.^
Cody
Kind of wonder about the answer to this myself. The only ones that really made sense to me were you and Stigmata. The only thing I can think is they do it because they can and just don't post about the normal every day crap. Stuff like going to the bathroom, buying a beer, getting a passport, getting a ticket from a cop for a virtual car without a registration or going to see the folks.Sakurako 'Endeavor' Hino you don't seem all that odd now. You did at first but after figuring out that your rich and spent months locked away it makes a lot more sense. Hell your more normal than some normal people I know. Jager
Methinks that comes from being a wanted fugitive Lemmy. Seems that certain folks want to talk to me about some questionable events. I don't like the idea of being drug off to some small, dark room and held indefinitely. Call me quirky.Besides, I party it up when the situation allows. True enough, Endeavor?
Sakurako Hino
That's an affirmative. Big time.Actually... Sometimes I don't even need a reason to party...Although after I get out of this place... I think I should have some whoop-it-up.Quite frankly, I need some party time.
Deeth
<chuckle>Who wants a job? I am enjoying not having a life to look me up. Being a nova is the best thing to happen to me... I think. I guess I would have to remember what I lost to make that a true statement... oh well Getting bored with the mall lately, never thought I would get tired of women wearing me all the time... jeeze... sometimes I think heavy women need to realize that when your a size 12, that size 8 just isn't going to fit, now matter how much air you squeeze out...Maybe I should go down to the local PD and see if they need a new suit of riot gear
Delicious
Hun, maybe you should try somehting like me.I mena I wouldn't fit a size.I think that thing would just plum right fall off of me.THen again thsi could be just a little ol' joke.
Deeth
Girl, I can fit any one of any size. I just have a prefrence to the cute ones. I don't ride the 12's, but I see them in there all the time.I keep getting hung up on when I call the PD and ask them if their Swat team needs a fashion upgrade. Delicious
Well, duh.Why don't you ask them if you can play captien, or sarge for the day.And last time I looked in the mirror.I would rate me an 11..And judging from the looks I get when I walk outside, most poeple would agree.Hell one day I got bitch slaped by this boy, becuase his boy friemd was looking at me, that way.True story. Deeth
LOLI can tell you one thing, I am not the prettiest sight when in my "human" form... guess that is why I tend to be in "blob" form or as a suit.
Walker
Well Lemmy ol' pal, it's like Cody said, you do it because you can. Novahood didn't gift me good looks, musical ability or any groovy stuff like that. When you're more or less immune to any substance short of nerve gas (that made by a nova scientist with a bad attitude) and scare/unerve/repulse the shit out of most baseline chicks, what else are you gonna do for kicks? You get a buzz pushing yourself into orbit up on stage, I get a buzz pushing myself into orbit in a more literal sense.I agree with you that it is unfortunate that some people play a bit roughly though. Personally I like the philosophy but that's just me, gives you something to chat about when you're high as a kite for 30 seconds on an arsenic and absinthe cocktail. Walker
Of course, sex does still retain it's attraction if you can find any interesting girls. Also that Terr'r music has a nice buzz to it, fools my body into getting high on it's own chemicals. I've got this danger sense thingy that tells me I'm not in any trouble, so I can get high on the fear, bit like sky diving or something. Plus you get to meet lots of pale but interesting people. Saves a packet on my monthly arsenic bill

Hell his habits are probably cleaner than most drummers I've ever known.TUM TUM, I still think you should get job in adult film industry. Get lots of food, money and women that don't brake easy.Delicious, seeing as you asked so nicely Starlord's Havana has got a night club with some of the coolest DJ's at the moment if you're into that Tribal Novox trance stuff. I think they're trying to steal some thunder from the Amproom so they're lining up several top acts in the next few months. Oh yeah, and sometimes I've even been known to catch a few. Sakurako Hino
Delicious:hah. No kidding.Cody:The responsibility? To me it's to yourself and to ethics. If you have the power to do something, wouldn't you do what is right? I can. I try to do what's right. But the phrase can also mean that your gaining power, you gain a weight of responsibility that you must deal with.

Sakurako Hino
Lemmy, if this was a few months ago, I would have found you semi-selfish. Now, I actually sort of agree. Worrying too much about things out of your control is not a way to go.My responsibility is to myself. Strangely enough, I also feel my responsibility is to do the right thing. But, I won't throw myself into the fire for a forelorn cause or one that is in vain. Those sort of sacrifices I find... empty.Lemmy, what would you die for? Who would you give your life to protect? For what would you gamble EVERYTHING for? That is how responsibility is gaged. You don't have to be a cape wearing "superhero" to have a responsibility you'll say you're proud to bear. Not to say you need to all of a sudden become a catholic priest or anything, I'm just asking if you shirk any responsibility to avoid a pecieved loss of independence. ronin
Lemmy.I know. Becaure you're a smell, petty, hedonistic tool who hasn't grown up yet.Don't worry, it gets easier once puberty hits.Cody.You're overthinking this, or trying to catch me in some logic-moral trap. It won't work.As a cut above everyone else on the planet, you have a responsibility to do what's right and to cause more good than harm. It begins and ends right there..ronin

He's... Opinionated.*sigh* Although Ronin was in the right mind there. He does tend to be on the defensive from past flame wars here.

Neil Preston
Ronin sounds a bit like my Dad. Being a physician, I can understand the desire to help people, but I also think we, as novas, need to get to know more about ourselves as well. If you do nothing but help others, the world will suck you dry. That's my belief, anyway.Besides, why shouldn't we live it up a bit? Party, make our own music, go into the wilderness and contemplate our navels, whatever!

ronin
Neil. All I said was "do what you think is right" and "cause more good than harm". That doesn't mean you can't have a good time, and it doesn't mean you have to do nothing but help people 24/7. All it means is that it's your responsibility as one of the giants to leave this place better than you found it..ronin
