Titan
So, I was looking for a hardbound Deluxe edition, and I noticed that both on ebay and elsewhere, while the rest of the books go for about what I thought they would ($5 - $29), the APG is selling for stupid money... like $79 - $200+. WTF? Did I miss something? Is the APG a rare find? Cause if so, I'm rich, bitch.
Mr Fox
heh, I didn't know they had even done a hardbound deluxe addition.
SalmonMax
Is it selling for that, or are people just putting them up for that?Someone could just be putting the same book up over and over again at a stupid price, hoping that just once, someone who really really wants it will take the bait. BlueNinja
I wouldn't know - all my Abby books are pdfs.
Titan
Fox - The original rulebook was done in hardback way back in '99. I always wanted it, and now I'm gonna get it.SM - No, it's $130 on Amazon, and I found it for $229 at a bookstore online. However, one did just sell on the bay for .99 with $3.38 shipping, so someone got it for a lot less. I guess I just want to know why the perception is that it's worth that. Was Blackwelder's 'This is not the Superfriends' rant that spectacular?BN - Half of mine are, but I actually have 2 (count em, TWO) copies of the APG. Mr Fox
*sigh* I used to have 2 copies of the core rules, but I lent one to a friend and never saw it again. Want to get another copy eventually in the event that I wear out the one copy I have.
SalmonMax
I guess there's a collector's market then.Out of print books can be hard to get, and scarcity sometimes creates inflated prices. I dunno who collects Aberrant stuff, but I guess it's possible.
Joani
I actually got all printed books of Aberrant including the blueish hardcover Limited Edition Corebook. Am I special now?
Justin OOC
like Joani I have them all...I found that awhile back the BESM 3e rulebooks were selling for $299+ regularly becausse the production run was so limited.
Mr Fox
Until Titan mentioned it I didn't even know the blue hardback even existed. On the other hand I do have one of the original Trinity core books with Aeon on the cover. Picked it up used at Half-price Books when I ran across it. jameson (ST)
Damn, I'd be rolling in it if I could get the kinds of values on my print copies.
