metaphysician
WW: Phase I mentioned that, as of 2010, there were less than a dozen q6+ novas on the planet. We know for certain that Mal, Scripture, Rousseau, Antaeus, Pax, and Melchior are/were among that number.Who would you guess are other likely candidates? And if not specific characters as known, what corners of the world do you think they might be found?
Alex Green
One or more of the ancient gods might have been in hibernation/TimeStop/TimeTravel. Thor or Zeus or whoever. There are rumors of some South Eastern type holy man who can create novas. If we go out 5 years I'd expect Totentanz might be able to make it. metaphysician
Pedro Santiago seems like a good candidate, albeit a specialized one relatively lacking in smite. It also fits with his being one of the older novas.
Alex Green
Good catch. The Teragen Fertility Babe sometimes gets a mention... although I'd put her at Q4 myself. She almost has to be grandfather'ed out, not in.
metaphysician
I got the impression she has a few well developed life and fertility related powers, but not full scale Biomanipulation. So, yeah, not Q6. Whereas the Mathematician has pretercog and intellect high enough that Mal himself goes to the guy for predictions and advice.Delorimier is the other third stage Terat known, but I tend to think he's not Q6. One, he's younger than the rest, and impatient. Two, if he were, he'd actually have a credible chance to kill Scripture of his own right. Plus, I tend to believe Mal's tolerances of the guy's flagrantly self-serving megalomania and backstabbing would be much less if he had that degree of power. Alex Green
Under the theory that we tolerate things from little dogs that we'd never tolerate from big dogs.True... and I agree that he doesn't really fit as a Q6... but I think you're giving Mal too much credit. metaphysician
Eh, he's outright in canon said what amounted to "Delorimier, your an idiot." Insane as he may be, Mal seems to know what his 'Apostle' really is like.
metaphysician
Outside possibility: the "monster of metal and bone" mentioned in Project Utopia, as being behind the Midnight Sun incident. The thing's destruction of that dangerous Palestinian nova *was* mistaken for a nuclear blast, after all.
