Aberrant: Prometheans Unbound - The Primary Factions

The Primary Factions

Here are the various factions of the Teragen as of 2116, as well as what's been happening with them lately. I'll update it as the story and the movement changes. The rosters listed for each faction show which members belong, though some "secret" Terats may not be listed. It is safe to assume that there are at least one or two additional unlisted Terats in each of the main factions that the rest of the movement aren't aware of. This list also does not include novas who are only contacts or Teragen sympathizers; otherwise, the Casablancas and Pandamonion would be truly massive.

Assume that any listed Terats are known by at least half the Teragen. Whether or not your character is aware of, or familiar with, any of these members is largely up to you as a roleplayer, though I wouldn't push it and make yourself intimate with everyone.

********************

This thread exists for me, the Storyteller, to post information on all of the major factions so that you, the players, are aware of what's going on. The information will be basic at best.

I will slowly update this list over time until I have all of the major factions listed, then I shall update with the various smaller factions. Each faction will get a seperate entry in this thread so I can update them as time goes on, without worrying about the "text posting limit" being reached by having multiple entries combined into one.

So don't reply to this thread. If you have any questions, post them in the main OOC thread.

The Prometheans

Leader: Envy

Overview:

The Prometheans are only a few months old, at least officially, and most of their members are new to the movement. This lack of old blood is a heavy mark against the faction from the older members, but newer Terats looking for a change are attracted to the faction. Their philosophy recognizes baselines as "zero stage" novas, and they desire to form some sort of coexistence with baselines, whatever form that may take. The Prometheans can be said to have been born from the Casablancas; while the Casablancas prefer to work mostly in the shadows, the Prometheans want to take a more direct and public course. Enough differences remain between the two factions that they remain seperate.

The Casablancas

Leader: Count Raoul Orzaiz

Other Prominent Members: Sin-Eater, Blinker

Overview:

This faction is still the largest in the movement, though most of it's members operate independantly and unseen, so it sometimes seems inconsequential to other factions. The Casablancas have roots in every continent, with Europe and North America being the strongest. Orzaiz makes a point of keeping tabs on all the other factions, befriending at least one member of each. The Casablancas have the largest contact and information network in the movement, with the Pandaimonion close behind. The faction has contacts with many novas, most of whom aren't openly affiliated with the movement, but who are willing to help the Count with whatever he needs.

Nova Vigilance

Leader: Geryon

Other Prominent Members: Epoch, Gauze

Overview:

Nova Vigilance is dedicated to the liberation and freedom of novas. Whenever a nova is imprisoned or assaulted by baselines, Nova Vigilance is the faction that comes to the rescue. They've become recurring enemies of Team Tomorrow and governments everywhere, and every member is considered a criminal by the world at large. Of all the factions in the Teragen, Nova Vigilance is the most famous outside of the movement; NV merchandise almost outsells Team Tomorrow merchandise. Geryon is the most visible Terat in the movement after Divis Mal and Count Orzaiz, and he is one of the most respected Terats within the movement. While many inside the movement feel that NV causes more problems than it solves, few can argue with the faction's rate of success thus far.

The Primacy

Leaders: Shrapnel and The Confederate

Other Prominent Members: Swarm Queen, Reflex

Overview:

The Primacy believes that novas cannot reach their full potential until they completely eliminate baseline influences and establish a new world order where novas dominate. While this political philosophy was subtle during the movement's first days, it has blossomed to become the driving force behind the faction. The faction is considered to be a collection of nova terrorists by every government and media outlet. With Shrapnel and the Confederate leading the way, the Primacy has begun making strikes against governments that have shown strong anti-nova prejudices. Primacy activity has recently shifted to focus almost entirely to regions where novas do battle with each other: Africa, the Middle East, Southeast Asia, Central America, South America, and Kashmir. The faction counts many ex-elites as part of it's roster.

The Cult of Mal

Leaders: Scripture and the Apostle

Other Prominent Members: Clarion, Joff Rasmussen

Overview:

The Cult of Mal believes that Divis Mal is a divine figure and that all novas are angels with souls, the newest avatars of God. They must cast off their baseline tendancies, look within, and embrace Teras so they can be closer to Mal and understand him. While the Apostle officially leads the faction, it is Scripture that acts as the faction's mentor and guiding voice. Scripture's influence is powerful enough that his words completely over-ride the Apostle's. The members of the Cult of Mal show an extreme devotion, stronger than that of any other faction; rarely does anyone leave, and there is never internal dischord.

Pandaimonion

Leader: Narcosis

Other Prominent Members: Boom-Boom, Honeytrap

Overview:

The Pandaimonion exists as a collection of hedonists, party-goers, and indulgers; novas looking for thrills and highs and not wishing to deal with consequences. They believe that being novas has given them the right to do whatever they please to make themselves happy. Narcosis leads this faction, though most of it's members are nothing more than followers and poseurs looking for a good time. She has built up a powerful contact network throughout the world, which strong ties to most entertainment agencies, and has established her very own entertainment company, Pandamonion Productions, through which most of Pandaimonion's money comes.

The Companions

Leader: Tarik ibn'Mahmoud

Other Prominent Members: none

Overview:

The Companions consist of those novas gathered by Tarik ibn'Mahmoud. They don't operate under a specific philosophy, they simply assist the Teragen through Tarik, who has offered himself as a resource to the movement. Tarik keeps a tight hold on how often his novas interact with the movement, preferring to keep them within the Middle East where they depend on him. Few Companions have strong relations outside of their faction.

The Radical Harvesters

Leader: Leviathan

Other Prominent Members: Lash, Locust

Overview:

The Radical Harvesters have had enough of the Apothecary's persistence on hiding and study. They want to show the world what they are and they feel that the time for action has come. The Radical Harvesters believe that Taint is something that should be embraced by every Terat and nova. Embracing Taint means embracing Teras and understanding exactly what it is that makes novas seperate from humans. Leviathan, having just emerged from his second Chrysalis, is anxious to take his radicals to the streets of every city and the nightmares of every baseline. While not officially split from Altaz Zia's portion of the Harvesters, the radicals are essentially their own faction.

The Conservative Harvesters

Leader: The Apothecary

Other Prominent Members: none

Overview:

The Apothecary and his few allies study Taint and Chrysalis in great detail, trying to devise new techniques for dealing with aberrations and channelling Chrysalis. The faction insists that Taint can be controlled and possibly removed, and many members are disgusted by the aberrations they have become. Even those that aren't disgusted by their Taint-riddled bodies stay with the Apothecary to better learn how to channel their Taint into something beneficial. The active Conservative Harvesters are small in number. While the faction counts many heavily-tainted novas in it's roster, a good portion of them are secluded from humanity, under the care of the Apothecary.
