  1. Morgan's background: 8 years in the Army, during which time he did college classes in order to get a degree in Criminal Sciences. Because of his test scores and aptitudes he was assigned duty as an MP in Afganistan for his first 5 years, after graduation he was reassigned to Military Intelligence. After his stint in the army, Morgan was approached by the NSA to become an agent. He specialized in profiling and data mining a persons life to build a picture of what they were likely to do, but because of his experience as an MP he also earned the right to work as a field agent on cases where his specialization was needed. Within the NSA he was considered to be on the Fast Track to advancement having gained the notice of some powerful people. That all changed when the "Refugees" arrived. He was among the group assigned to profile the new Novas, and one of the novas in particular was a scientist that the US Government recruited, based on his recommendation. No further information is available about Morgan from that time until his reassignment to the Interpol's Nova Task Force. At some point after the refugees arrived Morgan erupted with mental powers. Nothing is known about how this occurred and when asked Morgan just raises an eyebrow challengingly and says, "Classified. I could tell you, but then I'd have to wipe your memory." Since that time people have begun calling him PsiCop because of his abilities and his expertise in tracking down the guilty. He takes his role as America's protector seriously and knows better than anyone just how many threats are out there and how dangerous they can be. Before the transfer to the NTF he was awarded more than a dozen commendations and accolades the details of how he earned them are classified. What is known about him is that although he has a sense of humor, he can become very serious quickly when danger threatens. He has also garnered a reputation for being a bit ruthless in pursuit of justice. Although the United States has no "00" group of secret agents that are licensed to kill, he has never been prosecuted or disciplined for terminating suspects during an operation. Unlike most Novas, Morgan does not choose to wear spandex costumes to show off his physique, instead he dresses all in black and wears black gloves at all times. The only exception is a silver PSI symbol that all telepaths are required to wear. The gloves are also a part of the 'uniform' as it is commonly believed that physical touch is required for telepathy to work. While this might be true for most low level Psiads, it is far from true for Morgan, but he finds it useful not to disabuse people of that notion and so only removes his gloves when he is openly reading someone's mind. Appearance: He stands 5'9" with black hair and grey eyes and although he is fit and trim like all novas, he does not display the obvious and sometimes overly large muscles that they tend towards. He has average looks, and although he does not possess the charisma of a star or politician, he does have a way of connecting with people on a personal level that is surprising given the reluctance most people feel towards being around telepaths. When he chooses however, he can be very intimidating.
  2. Hello Everyone! This is the OOC for Episode 2! When we last left, The Professor had just recovered from her regeneration, and now... she has the experience of visiting a strange world, but now she's returned home only to find that Sarah's father is dead and news of other royal bloodlines being snuffed out is hitting the airwaves. The Professor, Chris, and Sarah must endeavor to stop this quickly, or all will be lost! Can they do it in time? Will the world ever be the same?
  3. =ONE WEEK AFTER RETURNING SHADOW= (Sorry, pretend this was The Professor posting this post. Thank you.) The Professor was still getting used to her new body. It was... taller by a good foot and she looked like she was in her twenties again. She had done her hair up in a way that spiked her hair in the back and along her sideburns in the side and chuckled. Although the contrast with the black clothing she had worn to the funeral of several heads of state including the British Nippon and even Britannian emperors had shocked her. An assassin was hunting crowns and this assassin was victorious. The world was in shock. Already the Brittanian parliment had considered twice declaring planetary martial law to stop the chaos that was happening and to get some control on the situation. But after the second time, the Professor herself had to step in and use her logic and sheer force of personality to stop their folly. Now she was in deep. In charge of a special committee to bring the killer or killers to justice and to protect the people of Brittania. She adjusted the only colorful thing on her blouse and suit combination in the red tie around her neck. She looked very business-like and ready for most anything. Of course she had her eufiber underwear on just in case a bullet had her name on it. She had already notified Section T of the situation and they returned their support and offer of assistance which she accepted. As she started relaying evidence to them and recieved suggestions, she turned to her door in her room and left for an airlock door. She met up with Sarah and Chris at the doors. "Thank you everyone, for staying. I especially know this is a trying time for you, Sarah, but we must struggle onward if we are to avenge his death and bring these criminals to justice. We are heading to Scotland yard to meet up with Inspector Rathbone to be briefed on what they know of the situation." She adjusts the unmarked sailor collar of her blazer, and fixed the collar on Sarah's outfit that made her look more like a British schoolgirl than anything. "You are taking this well, Sarah. I hope you can pull through for us." Sarah simply nods. Her behavior seemed... off for someone under such stress, yet still fit a pattern of loss that is typical of the mourning process. "Chris... ready? We're going to be doing a lot of footwork and this is going to take some finesse. This isn't a pirate fleet piloted by insane animals. These is an elite class operator, perhaps more than one. We have to be careful."
  4. Anyhow feel free to let me know what you think how things are progressing and such. Let us know if your going to be unable to post for a short period of time here. Tom is away until tuesday so in four days we wil push the story line into the present so to speak and get the ball rolling. In a interesting direction. I wont spoil it. =)
  5. "Entry log, one... I've taken the liberty of disabling and altering the security devices with the surrounding rooms, hallway and my own for short periods of time to ensure this report log goes undetected. The last month I been in the a company of small pack of beings calling themselves nova's. These nova's were once part of the lower level species known as humans but some how came into a unusual like power similar to my own. What makes this discovering more astounding is the fact I am able to interact with them and speak with them. I am lead to assume they have a device and a program with in the ship able to translate after a given time languages. Thus I am ensuring this message is being encoded and spoken in another language other then the one I have used thus far." "A short jaunt of what I learned and discovered about these fur-less creatures. They call themselves humans or their species humanity. Although there is a sub-species that recently has begun to branch off from the norm calling themselves nova's. These beings possess powers that feel when in close proximity exert similar energy like my own. When I have taken the time to sense the use of a ability they are actively using it feels so familiar. I am told there is a good number of such beings that exist in a sea of the multi-verses in which we begun to dive into with our exploration project. We should, in my opinion proceed with greater caution in dealing with and interacting with both species of humanity. They both do exhibit strong unpredictable characteristics from one extreme to another. Any further contact will require a tech I am trying to actively acquire from my current host's computer systems. In which I have been unsuccessful but I have discovered a possible key." "The pack leader if you will, and her companions I will try to briefly introduce in this report.. The pack leader is known as "The Professor", the other name she goes by I... have a hard time pronouncing. A young, pink haired female able to interface with computers to an extent rivals some of our own best. I do suspect that they are well versed in biological understanding of how living creatures function. She easily figured out what I was well before I even entered the ship. The Professor's assistant is human but exhibits a power that makes my fur stand on end. She always seems to be able to suspect my presence, I honestly do not know how able to do this." "Mech, a human male, well built and strong, is able to transform his body into living tech, shifting at his whim into powerful constructs with a array of weapons. Not much as known about him as he keeps to himself." "Zephraine, in which he likes to be addressed, is a scrawny built male with a unusually likable personality. Several times I felt a... desire towards him or sense of charm wanting me to tell him about myself in depth. I had to exert great control over my impulsive desire that I tend to avoid him when alone, even then one is not safe. He'd teach our diplomats a thing or two in short order." "Lastly the ship requires a more extensive investigation to determine its possible origins. What I have seen and been told do not add up. I am being to suspect the tech level of this vessel may out-strip standard advancement level of any known 847 species known as humanity. I will report my findings shortly upon discovery. End entry log...." Shadow Walker took a few minutes to repair the damage she has done to the security systems with in the couple rooms and corridor making it look like a flutter in the system that worked itself out. She ensured each of the altered systems randomly came back online to leave no pattern or trace behind that it was done physically. Once that was all done she easily slipped back into her room and then a few moments later exited normally as if nothing happened. She strode down the hallway looking at a tablet she was given reading up on humanity as a whole. The things caught her interest like she usually did each morning getting to know more about humanity. It wasn't long before she reached the juncture in the corridor and leaned against the wall to read something more carefully that held her attention. She only had to wait a minute before she heard heard the foot falls of The Professor making their way down the corridor like they did every day. The Professor was predictable during the early mornings walking down the same corridor each day at nearly the same moment like clock work. This made her job so much easier in timing another flutter to happen. A few moments before The Professor reached a certain point the surveillance system had a momentary jitter and with in those few moments Shadow Walker acted. Just a moment before The Professor noticed the little vlupine walked right into The Professor's path and the two collided with one another. The tablet Shadow Walker held fell to the ground as she reached out and grasped upon the professor trying to catch her balance by using The Professor as an anchor but it only ensured the two came crashing down on top of one another.
  6. Okay kids... gather around. After Operation: Returning Shadow, I got some plot threads dangling I'm going to start tying together. Here's the current list: 1: The Headmistress' Conspiracy The Headmistress has been outed and she's on the run. Her resources have been frozen and she's got really no escape route except her own trans-dimensional device. Thing is she jumps and The Professor is sure to find her, and why leave? She WANTS the Hikari Maru. That and what are the things keeping her interested in the Japanese branch of the royal family? 2: The Hive Oh yes, the bogeymen of the story of the Professor. How much of a threat are they? What do they look like? And are they coming closer to the Hikari Maru than is comfortable? 3: The Professor's dream When The Professor was regenerating, she was unconcious. Once that process ended though she slept for a day. During that time she had a weird encounter with an entity similar to Orion Sigma. One who knew the most close events coming down the pike for The Professor. Who is the Woman The Professor speaks of, and just what sort of overarching plan does this entity have for her? This is what I got so far... There is life in this game, and I want to see it keep going. I'd like everyone to think of ways they can create plots and find ways to tell stories both alone and together. We can do this. If you're interested in playing IE, talk to Me, Long, Jeremy, or Mr. Fox. It's time for a revival.
  7. Was wondering about this, in case this ever comes about. I propose this: 1: The Nova in question needs to have a Quantum of 6 or higher, and no background can go higher than 6. 2: If you do not meet requirement #1, if you have the appropriate Abilities, Attributes, and Mega Attributes, you could justify a 6. 3: You can only have 1 background at 6. This is your "Signature Background". 4: Since this is a Trans-Universal campaign, your character must have a way to access their background across universes if the background (like Resources for instance) is linked to one universe. If not the background is USELESS. If anyone has anything more to add, feel free to jump in. Unless otherwise stated, I'll operate under the assumption that you need 12xp to go to 6 on a background.
  8. A tale from a wizened wolf... I see you got my message and came... Please sit down and have a drink my friend. As for what I am about to tell you can not be found in any written records or on any known data file. What I have to say is handed down from generation to generation verbally taught to any of those whom wish to listen. This my friend is the story of Shadow Walker. It was long said that Shadow Walker was born before the days of the great war raised in a settlement long since vanished by the ravages of time and war. It was during these early days the young child was raised and taught by one of the four founding fathers of our great civilization. He was the first to bring together the different leaders to forge a pact that has transcended time itself to this very day. As our resolve and unity today remains unshakable by our bonds and faith of our kind. It is whispered by the winds the great war begun that tragic day when the small settlement was wiped out of existence right before her eyes creating the forbidden valley that exists today. Nothing was left behind other then just sand and rocks no trace of anything living was left behind in the attack's wake. Alone and lost the young shadow walker vanished into the wilderness for a while. It was several years later the Shadow Walker emerged and begun to work with the resistance easily finding a new home with in its ranks and followers. It was only a few months into joining the resistance that she was assigned to a pack; a cell of rebels tasked with certain objectives. At first the pack had some minor issues but quickly recovered and grew stronger and more successful pulling more of our brothers and sisters into the good fight. But such fame comes with a price. It was on one fateful moonlight night and in the sands of the forbidden valley. It was said shadow walker and her pack was erased from existence by the very weapon that killed her father and friends long ago. At that very moment our cruel masters displayed the last moments of Shadow Walkers life and her pack. The world witnessed the brutality of our former masters and the willingness to cause such destruction was the last straw. It was like world itself cried out in one voice and shook the very foundations of heaven itself. Our former masters found themselves suddenly besieged on all fronts by the very slaves they controlled. It was in this moment in that instant a miracle took place. Amidst all the chaos no one saw Shadow Walker and her pack appearing once again but reborn. Shortly after our former masters were driven back into the dimension from which they came from. But how victory came to be so quickly is for another time. Another story if you wish to listen to my tales. But I can see you think this story I told you to be untrue and its tale to be misleading. No my friend this is the story that has been passed down to each generation of story tellers. A story of truth, you may take it was you wish but I will leave you with the final words of Shadow Walker herself. “You will not know the time or place. My coming or going will be as if a fox in the night. But when things are at their most dire you will know I am here.”
  9. Okay, what should we plan for the next story? Should we even stay as a group? The last story fell dead and I'm sorry it did, so... what needs to be done?
  10. Hello Everyone! The Professor here! Looks like we're heading to Britannia! Now while we are in-between universes I thought it would be a good idea to see what people would want out of this next story. One; so I can get a story plan on lock and Two; So that everyone gets a spotlight to work with. Also, while Brittania is my universe, I am welcome to seeing additions made. Tech Level: The Tech Level of Britannia is definitely at a pre-aberrant war stage. For an example as to what Britannian London looks like... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gJM6Zyq_XcM The picture in that video is a fair representation of the Londonium Arcology. There are colonies on the Moon, and organized expeditions are planned to Mars in the next few years. (Listen to the video from 0:40 and imagine the ESS flying in to land at a Ministry helipad. Touring all the arclogy spires flanking the north sea.) Medical Technology is far advanced. Limbs that are damaged are replaced with stem-cell cloned limbs, most diseases are eradicated, and viruses are tightly reined in and mostly eradicated. Bacterial infections are treated with immuno-enhancers with care not to make bacteria resistant to treatment efforts. The Environment is clean, but after the unification war, there are many irradiated areas off limits to all but the most hearty of Novas. Political: Britannia is a Constitutional Monarchy, similar to the real world UK. There is a Prime Minister, and Parliament. The Ministry of Powers handles all Nova and Psychokinetic powers. (Powers is the general term that Britannians use to describe those with powers.) Population: 3.75 Billion, 1 Million Novas of mostly < 30 NP rating. Only about 50 Novas are known to have a > 100 NP rating. If anyone has ideas, remember, this society isn't ideal, but it works for it's citizens, and conspiracies are slim, and easily ferreted out. But as noted, things aren't ideal. Nothing made by man or nova never is. Addenda: Currency: Currency is the EC or Energy Credit. A currency based on the value of the energy used to produce something. The "Heisenberg Realization Effect", The World, And Taint/Aberrations: The Heisenberg Realization Effect is an extension of Werner Heisenberg's theories regarding the observer and their effects on reality. With the force of will that a Psychokinetic or Nova can produce, they can create their own reality around themselves, or at least an optimal condition around themselves. This "Realization Effect" is what makes Psychokinetics and Novas work. In regards to Taint and Aberrations, to quote The Professor... "Oh dear... yeah... we... gotta talk about that. I got the problem too, well, just starting. I don't think yours is terminal but it is far more advanced than mine. See, at least here, no nova has gotten past stage three without going mad or becoming a puddle of goo or worse some sort of freakish beast... I've been working with the best paraphysicians here to find a treatment to the root cause of the symptoms... You might know the root cause as Taint... as I do... but I can't cure the effects of the disease, the aberrations. The Terats here and their philosophy has channeled this, probably from a variant of the Heisenberg Realization Effect, and I have heard rumors... at least here... of some other organication or group that knows how to train the body to more efficiently channel quantum and even cure taint before it starts causing damage..." Taint aberrations are reflections of the Nova's own feeling of slipping away from reality and humanity, made manifest from residual quantum (taint) retained in the quantum template of the Nova. While this science of understanding the function of such reality manipulation is embryonic at best, this may be something leading to an effective treatment of taint, but not the damage it causes. Unfortunately, once enough residual quantum builds up in the template, the damage it does to the Nova is irreversible. Section T Dramatis Personae Captain Jane Arrowway: Head of the Cardiff cell of Section T, capable of resurrecting herself after death and is an expert pistoleer. Owen James: Teleporter, team medic. Patricia Awbrey: Former Scotland Yard detective, only human on the team. Kimiko Hayashibara: Cyberkinetic Nova, spends 23 hours a day logged into the Brittanian Intelligence Network searching out for new arrivals through the Stonehenge gate or "Sidestep" capable Novas.
  11. Opening http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WNBMwqXCXs8 The ESS sits on a reserved landing stall on a landing platform connected to a tower overlooking the north sea and the estuary leading to the Thames river. Inside, Sakurako is getting Sarah dressed for a doctor's visit. Sakurako gets Sarah situated in a wheelchair, wearing a bio-isolation suit. "I can't see we gotta wear these." Sarah says adjusting the baggy, flat white garment. "It's to protect folks from any bugs we might have brought with us from that last universe, Sarah." Sakurako says getting the hood on properly and connecting the hose to the air supply and filter. "But we've not done this in other universes." Sarah says with a plaintive whine. She's been through a lot, and is a bit moody. "None of them have a Section T quarrantine and analysis lab on site." She says, walking over to a comlink. "Okay everyone!" Sakurako says over the ship's intercom. "Anyone who wants to come ashore needs to put a bio-isolation suit on. Section T regulations require a scan and medical check before removing them. Won't take more than 30 minutes and as a group we can get this done all at once, so I recommend everyone stepping out with I and Sarah. Once that is done I will be taking Sarah to a Paraphysician for a check up... and then perhaps we'll be getting set for a beach get-away... by golly I think we deserve it." She adjusts her pink version of her isolation suit. "After we've gotten the go-ahead to 'dress down' and I drop Sarah off we can see the arcology's sights... whatever everyone wants."
  12. Whoops, wrong section! First I posted my character here and then I forgot to clear it with the other people in Britannia to post there. The Professor had told me it was okay about a week ago, but I never put it to the rest of you, so what do you say? Can I join?

  17. A Year and a half ago, Sonja and Daniel had been a happy couple. Though geography would soon separate them, Sonja and Daniel remained a couple. He was easily among the most handsome men on planet, something her team mates let her know at every opportunity. Still time has a nasty habit of changing things. They were immensely popular, barely escaping the cameras when they were in public together. His stint as a male model, and as an unparalleled firefighter made him widely popular, and with her meteoric rise to lead Teen Tomorrow Europe, he’d made a point of getting her action figure signed. She also had several of his better shots as well. Still, things came to an end after about eight months. It wasn’t some public spectacle, or even public at all. The end came after a nice romantic dinner, then the two retired to her apartment, and as he began to massage her shoulders, she came out. “Daniel, I’m gay.” This took him by surprise, but he didn’t explode like she’d expected. “I guess that explains why you and I have been drifting apart lately pretty well doesn’t it?” “Yeah… It’s not you, Daniel. It’s me.. I’ve been trying to tell you….” “Sonja it’s ok.” He looked at her and nodded. “I told you once that if you were happy, I’d be okay. I meant it then, and mean it now.” “I’m a little disappointed.” She looked at him. “Okay, a lot disappointed, but that’s because I’m losing one of the most beautiful women on the planet as a girlfriend, and reverting back to friends.” “I might be a little mad, but never forget how we came here, together. No matter what, I will always be there for you Sonja. “ There was so much she wished to say, but all she could do was nod. “I think it best if I leave now Sonja. I’ll come around again if you like, but just as a friend.” “Alright Daniel.” He turned and left as a streak of fire out the window, not letting Sonja see the tears in his eyes, or wanting to see those in hers. He largely stopped coming to call as often as he had been, and had become increasingly busier with work. She threw herself into the team. Another eight months passed, Sonja having come out publicly, and in the process forced Teen tomorrow to deal with having an openly gay team leader. She’d observed a strict code against dating teammates, that was too easy of a path to cause problems she simply didn’t want. Many couldn’t believe she’d chosen the other team over Daniel, as he was so breathtakingly attractive. Daniel waved it off nonchalantly when questioned. “We parted amicably, as friends. “ It was very late one evening, he’d taken up meditation, going back to what he’d done before mixing martial arts and meditation to control his anger and other urges. He was quite skilled at the former, and not so much at the latter. He was on the verge of a breakthrough he felt, he was so close. He had returned home to his parents, the last place he felt truly comfortable. They gave him a wide berth, it was hard to look at him, his transcendental handsomeness hard to resist, especially since he wasn’t related to them in any actual way. He’d ask for time alone, and they gave it to him, knowing he’d have a good reason for it.
  18. Time: February, 2010 Location: New Orleans to Los Angeles Sonja and Daniel spent two weeks in New Orleans, slowly growing more comfortable with this new world they found themselves in and in their budding relationship. They toured Bourbon Street and the French Quarter, he showed her the sights tourists didn't know about, and they ate delicious, spicy local cuisine, both out and at home, hot enough to wrench tears from the towering blonde that tank shells couldn't. Taking a spin out on the boat was met with enthusiasm, fishing... less so. Gradually, Sonja became less reserved and reticent in their relationship and more demonstrative, beginning to bask in it. Daniel even managed to make it to second base... twice, over the shirt, and only with Sonja's direct leave. Still, it was more than any other guy had ever gotten willingly and though he had been more than fond of Glacia, Daniel had to admit to himself, the Snow Maiden just couldn't compete with the exceedingly voluptuous Valkyrie, his hands overflowing with her abundant curves. Even as Sonja grew more proficient and accepting with the kissing and the touching, Daniel became less daunted and more relaxed - if not precisely less intimidated - with a girlfriend who was considerably taller and many, many times stronger than he was. An even taller Sonja in heels was a most... impressive sight. Daniel was a little surprised Sonja didn't even take that much offense when several guys getting an early start on Mardi Gras made a couple of boisterous comments... Though the looks on their faces when she twisted a wrought-iron spar of a decorative fence like a pipe-cleaner probably helped mollify her. As they hastened away, Sonja looked down at Daniel, a tight grin on her lips. "I used to live a block away from the Playboy Mansion, I've heard worst." Witnessing the exchange and Sonja's somewhat more relaxed attitude, an idea began percolating through his head. If we stick around for just a little longer... Sonja and Daniel's mother even bonded a bit, when Riva took her pseudo-son's new girlfriend shopping. Sonja had her pride and was somewhat guilty needing the charity until Riva eased her concern with an easy smile and a light laugh. "It's not charity, dear, if you don't ask and we don't mind. Though now I really understand what you meant Sonja. It's really a trial finding clothing and shoes for such a strapping young woman like yourself. Hmm, let's try..." There were only two things that dampened their time in New Orleans. One, the paparazzi began nosing around, which was very weird to the mutants from a world where those with powers were not so embraced. The other incident was actually somewhat more familiar in their experience, though it was the first time they had personally encountered in this Nova world. Sonja and Daniel were accosted by a group from the Church of Micheal Archangel, calling Sonja a wanton witch and harlot, shoving unwholesome desired into the minds of ordinary folks and Daniel a red-eyed demon who summoned hellfire. But before it could proceed any further than words - Sonja with thinking about showing them where they could shove their unwholesome desires - a couple of solicitous police officers broke it up, separating the two groups and dispersing the excited onlookers who had been hoping for some action, cellphones held up to capture the possible event. As the days passed, Sonja was both anxious and reluctant to go seek out the version of her family that resided here, the Allards making it easy to stay, especially since she had nowhere else to go, and nothing else to her name. Finally, after days of secretly psyching himself up and seeing Sonja's downcast expression she thought she hid, Daniel finally made his proposal. "Sonja," he asked, taking her hand and giving it a squeeze, though he strove to keep his voice casual, "I've shown you most of New Orleans, but there's something you just have to see, if you want to say you've seen the Big Easy. Sonja, do want to stick around and go to Mardi Gras with me, before we head out to find your family?" Sonja gave a small gasp of surprise. She'd heard of Mardi Gras of course and the licentiousness surrounding it, but she was having fun here and there was such hope in Daniel's eyes and... Fuck it! I'm not an ice queen, I'm not uptight, I can cut loose too. She picked him up, her hands squeezing his ass and tilted her lips up to meet his and gave him a deep, breath-stealing kiss. See, spontaneous! Take that 'Neca. "Yes, I want to see Mardi Gras with you."

  21. Somewhere in England not far from Stonehenge Stonehenge didn't seem like much to modern eyes, nothing more than the mysterious erection of stones to some ancient god or gods. Of course, the modern day gods had taken it upon themselves to keep an eye on the site, for reasons unknown. The House of Slider was famous and renowned- as those with a connection to inter-House politics would know- for being artists, entertainers- albeit not to the extent of Narcosis and her infamous House of Beauty- but their large claim to fame was being the neutral diplomats that could arbitrate any House negotiation. Completely impartial and persuasive, a single Slider diplomat was worth their weight in gold. Yet, House queen Jennifer Landers kept a major estate and fort near Stonehenge, and an incomplete encrypted transmission the techies intercepted implied that there was a clear importance attached to the protection and supervision of Stonehenge. The Director of the UK Division had called Dash in to find out why. Specifically, he had to break into the mansion and acquire the files he had been told were there. However, though the Houses still relied on impressions as much as real influence and power, the security systems would be too much. Fortunately, there was a rock ledge much less guarded. A UAV had been buzzed over the mansion fast enough to drop an EMP upon the facility before self-destructing immediately. Enough distraction for Dash to move up with ease and nova grace, before he made a leap over the wall and landing cat-steady in the grass. Step 1, check.
  22. Name: Irma ‘The Collector’ Hale (2nd Generation Nova) Nature: Hunter-Killer Theme: Space-Time Manipulator Allegance: Herself Appearance: An attractive young woman in her mid-twenties of average height with long, black hair and a taste for molding her eufiber into practical dark-colored clothing, Irma is all cold self-control over a reservoir of low-burning hate for her targets of Director Thetis and Project Utopia in all their iterations across the multiverse, her pale-green eyes alive with a dangerous intelligence that can entrance and deceive even those who should know better than to trust her. History Born in 2003 the only daughter of two Devries Nova Elites on an Earth on the fast track to the Aberrant War thanks in large part to a more aggressive Teragen and a more extensive revelation of the sterility conspiracy, Irma grew up with the expectation of following in her parent’s footsteps when she came of age, the apple of her parent’s eye, throwing herself into the training provided by the Company. Then came the start of the chaos of the Aberrant War during her 15th year and everything started to go to hell. Her mother was killed, not on the job, but by an assassin’s specialized bullet within the Devries compound where they were living. No suspect was found, and her Father moved her into a more isolated compound off the grid and out of the way before going on the hunt for his wife’s killers. Two years he hunted without success as his daughter hardened from the hopeful child she had grown up as to the space-time manipulating hunter-killer she would become, their world descending further into madness day by day and quantum battle by quantum battle. He finally caught a break by catching up to one of Director Thetis’ hand-picked lackeys and getting the man to spill his guts regarding where the Director herself was waiting out the war. A meeting was called among his allies to follow up on the intell and Irma insisted to be allowed to come along, already stronger than half of the other Novas there as she approached her Apothesis Her Father agreed. The fight was bloody, pitting the sociopaths of Proteus against the somewhat-overmatched band of former Elites. Irma went into Apothesis when her Father died, Director Thetis her first post-Apothesis victim, aged into a pile of bones, her skull taken as a trophy for herself and all of Novakind. Sitting there amid the ruins of a blood-stained bunker, her mind a suddenly blazing instrument with a cracked foundation, the young 2nd Gen considered her prize and all the dead it’s owner had caused, all those who had never even had the chance to live thanks to that woman. One death was not enough for Thetis, not with a multiverse of worlds probably being tormented by that woman’s many, many counterparts on the other side of the Stonehenge rift. Her parents had teased her about her habit of collecting anything that vaguely interested her in her invisible pocket, her enthusiasm about hoarding more weapons and ammo than she’d ever need to use against the kind of foes she could expect to fight as an Elite. Well, the young woman promised herself, time to collect something worthwhile for as long as she could. The rift was but a thought away and she had Thetis‘s entire data archive to loot to make the next hunt easier… That was nine years and seven skulls ago, and now her meandering trail of revenge through the timelines and the multiverse has led her to a new world in search of her ninth prize. 23. スペースキャスタウェイ - 教授 Space Castaway - The Professor Episode 1: The Professor and the Schoolgirl ...Morning Sarah wakes up from her sleep, she was having such an odd dream while she was deep in her slumber. One of travelling, across a sea of stars like an ancient mariner. Looking about in her dream she saw the strangest creatures and even stranger lands strewn like islands. Then a storm came and she was thrown overboard. Tossed and turned in the churning waters of the deep of the universe she could barely tread water. Just as she was about to go under for the last time, a hand reached out and said... "Wanna come with me?" And just as she grabbed on, there was a light... and she awoke. "Sarah dear! Breakfast is ready! You'll be late for class!" "Oh crap!" Sarah was never one to be on time... not recently. She's been sleeping more and her dreams have been becoming stranger and stranger. This latest one wasn't as odd, but the ending was... resonating... with her subconscious. She quickly runs down and grabs her breakfast off the table. "Eating at the train terminal again?" Her mother says as she sees Sarah dash down, barely getting into her school uniform. "Yeah. Was sort of sleeping deep I think we need a new alarm clock for me." "You should just get to sleep when you should." Her mother chides as she gets a fried egg and ham sandwich quickly put together and handed off. "Have a good day and don't be late this time. I need you back here when you should. The detentions are making it hard for me to take care of your little brother!" Sarah is out the door, and hauling for the train station. "I got 10 minutes... if I can get to the station in time I can get in a little early for once!" ...1 hour ago A phone rings in a small bedroom. Barely a glint of light hits some scattered books, illustrating the dusty nature of the accommodations. Poking up through some bedsheets is a hand, looking for the receiver. "Huh... Hello..." "Miss Hino. This is Principal Alanson. I look foreward to hearing good reviews on your first day here at the academy!" "Oh I look foreward to that as well, sir!" "We start classes in two hours, don't be late!" The other side hangs up and the hand hangs up the reciever. A form rises within the bed sheets and a pink-haired head pokes out, as if she was wearing a cloak. Her glasses are on her face, misalligned. "I must have dozed off doing my research... time to keep up appearances!" She gets up, still wearing her clothes from last night. A brown vest, white blouse with red tie, and a black skirt with brown mary-jane like shoes she slips on when she gets out of bed. She grabs a dark reddish brown coat froma hangar as she steps outside. It's definately morning... in a different Tokyo... This Tokyo is part of a Globe-Spanning British Empire... All won peacefully, and running more like a democracy... at least that's what she's seen. She takes a deep breath, taking in the clean air. "Okay... time for my day job." Sakurako is indeed playing a masquerade. As she walks by, she steps into a shed, smiling. "Time to get a couple more things." Inside is the insides of a space craft. Built by hands long gone and her own. She grabs what looks like an ID holder, a odd pen, and a couple extra books. There. She says, adjusting her hair in a darkened view screen's reflection. "Now let's see how today will go..." She heads over to a large hangar bay inside her ship and sits down on a scooter. It looks like a baby blue Vespa, with all the accompanying trim. She opens a bay door, seemingly to nothing but a blue field. When she starts the engine of her scooter, it hovers. With a grin she says "Alright... time to... EDUCATE..." She says with a hearty laugh as she zooms out of the cargo bay. The doors closing behind her as she pops out in reality inside an alleyway. The wheels land and she zips along to her new job. ...Current time "Dammit... construction delay? Delayed 30 minutes minimum? What sort of half-rate company is this?" Sarah curses. She has a cortesy note to present, but with the demerits she already has and the vice principal warning her that if she's late for any reason, either don't bother showing up that day or take an automatic detention. She walks out of Jinbocho station, about ready to punch one of the station attendants, but decides just to leave. So either skip school or face the music for no fault of my own... what sort of messed up gig is this? A light, almost comical honk snaps her attention. "Miss? Need a lift?" Sakurako recognises the navy blue jumper and sailor collar of her school she's teaching. She pulls up to the curb and pulls a spare helmet from the seat. "Made sure I was prepared." "Do I know you?" "Yes, well... you will. I'm Sakurako Hino, the new Science Teacher at your academy." "Ah. So I get you first hour." "Right." "Would you... mind letting me off easy if we're late?" "I'm trying not to be late myself, so let's not dally." After Sarah gets her helmet on, Sakurako hits the gas... for what it's worth, and weaves through traffic like she was more on a racing motorcycle than a scooter. "What in the world are you doing?!?" "I'm following the speed limit!" "Perhaps for the Indy 500!" Sarah holds on, her arms wrapped around Sakurako's waist as they skid into the School Parking Lot. "You okay?" "Y... Yes, Miss Hino." "Good. Now, yes get to class." After parking, Sakurako gets up and helps Sarah get her books out of the seat storage. Just as they are about to get their helmets off, Sakurako hears a light, unaudible to other ears, a beep and a light on her hud glasses. She pulls out a orange packet from her purse. "Sarah... duck and cover!" She says, tossing the orange packet down. Moments later an explosion rocks the science lab. When Sarah dares look up, she sees Sakurako supporting an orange... ceiling? "A microbe produced foam shelter... it produces oxygen for 1 hour and can withstand a railgun blast... Theoretically." She says. Then she pulls out a couple of bags with what look like small gas cartridges attached from her purse. "Wa... what are those?" "Rebreather hoods. They'll extend the air supply we got to 8 hours." "Are you with the ministry? Sent to protect me?" "What? No? I'm just an inventor." "How did you get this equipment then?" "I... borrowed it... it's from another universe... most of this I didn't borrow I was given it as a thank you... you think I'd borrow something that'd get used up?" Sarah starts pounding on the wall. "You'll only use up the air faster. The shield wall is showing signs of stress... we're buried here." She says, pointing to random areas of white on the wall, where supports or bits of wall are contacting the dome. Sakurako then puts on her rebreather hood and tightens it. "If I was goign to harm you... you think I would have all this equipment meant to save both our skins?" "You know who I am, right?" "Yes, you're crown princess Sarah Hideyoshi. Second in line to the Chrysanthemum throne and 4th to the throne of Brittania." "How do you know all that?" Sakurako points to the data feed on her glasses. "Now get your hood on, Your Majesty. Your rescue is on it's way." "Section S no doubt." Sarah says putting her hood on. "And Section T. I will be under arrest soon, I wager. Illegal alien... literally." "I can put a good word in... you did save my life." Sarah says, her voice slightly changed by the hood's respirator. Sakurako sits back. "I don't know... I wouldn't want to impose." ...Meanwhile A woman overlooks the smoke rising from the explosion at the Academy, and reaches up to adjust her glasses. "Casualties?" She says with a direct, almost emotionless tone. Her solid British accent suggests she is a transplant from London proper. "5 students dead. The Princess is unaccounted for as well as the substitute." Her assistant says, a worm of a man, barely 5 and a half feet tall and a sniveling voice like a toad. "Damn imprecise matter this work. I wouldn't want undue casualties, but it seems my hand being forced." "Section S has sent it's Nippon Disaster Response Team 4 to the location. Strangely enough Section T has been sent..." "WHAT?" The woman says slamming a folder to the table so hard that it would have broke if it was anything heavier. "I don't want those damn meddlers in my affairs. I will personally see to it that the substitute is in MY hands! She OWES me." "Yes, Headmistress, as always." He says, stepping into the light, revealing his skinny frame bespoke with soda-bottle glasses and a japanese school uniform. "What should we do?" "I cannot have Emperor Hideyoshi getting wind of this, or all my plans in this universe are hooped. This universe is right for the taking, and I NEED the ESS!" "As you wish." He says, bowing before he leaves. She sits in her chair and observes from the windows of a office she stole with stolen data, stolen money. Everything about her is a lie. A lie she is about to tell... when she sits on the throne. "The Emperor will learn to rue the name Mary Masters..." She says, her hand on the window, seeing the EMT helicopters on a fast vector to the site. "...and The Professor will learn her place as well..."
  24. Hello everyone. I was thinking, while I and the rest of "Team Stonehenge" is waiting to post, why not post a story on how we got to the point of where we started off in the stonehenge fic. Here's the deal... I will start off, and whoever else on the team is interested can go. -Prof Code: Current Posting authors... * The Professor * Mech
  25. Height 5'5" Hair: Lavender Eyes: Blue Weight 115 lbs Date of origin: January 15th, 2013 Appearance: 6 (innocent) Charisma: 4 (attentive) Admittedly, the universe description is not my best writing. Summarizing centuries of history isn't easy Home universe: The most notable point of divergence happened around the time of Queen Victoria taking the throne. During this time, some scientists approached the Queen with a plan that, if successful, would enhance the power of the British Empire and expand its reign across the world. In most universes, she threw the men out as fools, but this Victoria decided to fund their ambition. Through means never revealed, they managed to 'capture chaos,' removing its influence from the world except where they allowed it. What followed was a time of stagnation for most of the world while England and her colonies, those that she had held onto at least, flourished. It took years for anyone to connect the dots, and longer still for other countries to mobilize against England, blaming them, rightfully so, for the woes that stymied any growth or achievement in the rest of the world. They attacked England, which responded with troops they had been preparing for twenty years, with better weapons than possessed anywhere else. The War of Enlightenment spread the reason of England around the world. Once a country had been conquered by them, the inhabitants couldn't imagine it being any other way, allowing the forces of the great Empire to move on to conquer more, until they ruled the whole world. By the end of the war, some of the scientists who had worked on the original project realized, with horror, what they had done. The contraption they had built only allowed a limited amount of imagination and freewill into the world, which they had been supplying exclusively to England, but with England ruling the world, that energy that was enough to create a golden age for one country was now diluted amongst the entire world. Almost everyone born into this world had nearly no imagination. There was very little change or growth, anywhere. They tried to break the machine, but failed. In 1870, fiction was outlawed as a waste of time. In 1890, failure of the Bible to hold up to a scientific analysis caused it to be declared a work of fiction and be banned, along with Christianity. Soon enough, the only religion left in the world was Confucianism, as it consisted only of recommendations on how to be a better bureaucrat. Technology progressed, but in a very logical fashion. New devices were based on increasingly complex interactions of existing technology, with a very small sprinkling of new innovations. This resulted in a look to machinery resembling 'steampunk.' Heather was born and assigned a number and name by the government as had become common practice to make censuses and taxes easier. She demonstrated enough intelligence that she was assigned to be the wife of a college professor, David 9080 who had lost his first wife to illness. While intelligent, she was still mostly average, as everyone was. There were very few outliers anymore, no outsiders, no diversity. She really didn't have much to do around the house except fulfill her wifely duties to her husband in the hopes of continuing the Empire through their children. He was tenured, and as such rated enough servants to handle all of the chores, leaving Heather bored. So, she did one of the only things available to someone in her position: she read. She memorized every single book in her husband's public library before finding his secret, and highly illegal, stash of fictional works. Despite the continued absence of chaos in the world, it found small ways to leak out and express itself, a few individuals who had the talent to write something they had never seen, and people with a longing for 'more' that they could never quite define, leading to a thriving black market trade in fiction. This was one of the only black markets, as just about everything else was legal and taxed. Unlike most people who found their way to the illicit world of fiction, Heather had never even heard of it before she started reading it. There were lies and crimes in the world, few and far between as they were, but she had never had a book lie to her, so she believed that every book she read was real, or at least potentially real somewhere. She was working her way through the works of a particularly subversive criminal author named Anne McCaffrey when IT happened. There wasn't enough coherency in the world, enough order, for there ever to be a consensus on what to call IT, much less what IT was. Unbeknownst to anyone alive, the machine that had been suppressing chaos for so very long finally reached its limit and exploded. 2 centuries worth of chaos flooded the world. 20 percent of the world's population erupted into novas. About 50 percent just died, unable to handle it. Another 20 percent half-erupted, developing one or two abilities or physical changes without the ability to develop any further or accrue any taint. this left a very small number of baselines who were generally assumed to have non visible abilities, avoiding prejudice. Even animals changed. Heather's cats turned into small dragons like the ones in the book she had been reading. They were a bit more intelligent than the fire lizards, being able to hold full conversations with her, but otherwise were cat sized dragons who could teleport and spit fire.(Note that I will give full descriptions of the dragons and their abilities in their own character sheets. Those descriptions will be placed in this thread. These are the two allies I have on my sheet at 4 dots) Heather and David found that they had very little in common after becoming novas, having gone in completely different directions with their personal evolutions. They parted amicably enough. Heather decided that she wanted to travel and see some of the places she had read about...
