"Always dare to feel, Chance, always," Sapphire urged her with sensual conviction. Her slender fingers traced the line of her jaw, making the witch shiver. "The good and the bad, feelings are the core of us, and both make us the stronger for it." Their breasts pressed together, their faces several inches apart, Sapphire gave her a challenging grin. "Now... kiss me."

Chance tensed with hesitation; Sapphire was the one who always initiated before, but the gorgeous, enticing curve to her lips said this time, she wouldn't relent. Tentatively, Chance slid her hands around Sapphire's tiny waist and up the graceful arch of her back to tangle in her deep blue hair. She pulled the intense elan's face closer to her own, stretched up her own and when their lips united, a passionate explosion blew through her entire body. For a little while, she could forget about the Legion, which huddled in a small part of her soul, away from the desire and pleasure shared between the two women.

There was no hesitancy, no reticence on Sapphire's part, of herself, she gave everything. Whenever Chance feared to go further, Sapphire would prompt her with a sensuous touch and a sensuous tongue, "Dare farther," and she couldn't help but do so.

Just as The Scheherazade began its flight towards Edan, Sapphire strutted onto the bridge and took her station with a languid tranquility Namiah well knew. Chance trailed after her, her bearing somehow both relaxed and rigid with what she had experienced.

"Captain, Lt. Sapphire Rose and Ensign Chance reporting for duty."

The crew was all at their posts, the Captain had a plan, and the diplomats were all discussing and ironing out the details of their new agreement. For all intents and purposes, it seemed like a way out of this mess was in clear sight.

At about 2 minutes out, however, the ship jerked.. and Zade spoke out into the air. "Warning, dimension interdiction field forming, taking evasive action, scanning...Legion vessel's detected." Even as the ship's avatar spoke, space began to warp around them, and a massive swirling wormhole like object was heading for them.

At five points around the wormhole, they had formed, were warships, dark red in color, with dangerous looking spikes around them. Each of them extended a straight line energy field to the other, creating a huge pentagram in space...

Namiah sat straighter in her chair. "Lt. Saotome, sound battle stations and start giving me options. Zade, tell me what they're doing and notify our guests that they should secure themselves in the lifepods."

Namiah twisted in her chair, turning to look at the unearthly beauty that was Sapphire Rose. "Lt. Rose, I need to know what they want." There was an apology in Namiah's green eyes for the unpleasantness that Sapphire was about to experience.

Kaien nodded, keying in commands and activating the ship's internal and external defense systems. His monotone voice came over the speaker. "Attention all personnel, Set for Battle stations, all non-essential personnel to their assigned escape pods." It was as if he was giving the morning weather report.

Done with that, he tapped in a series of commands. "In Theory Captain, I can teleport onboard the other ships and destroy their drives. This does have the potential risks of permanent discorporation, or possibly stranding wherever they emerge from hyperspace."

Another series of computations. "We could ostensibly take out one ship with our own firepower as soon as they fully materialize, use our maneuvering thrusters to adjust and shoot a second within 2.28 seconds. We would be out of position however to fight the remaining 3. I can manage another, perhaps 2 in that same timeframe, Though the last ship would have our flank. We would have to weathertheir attacks before we could come to bear on them."

He typed in a few more keystrokes. "Our most agressive stance would be to have me engage one ship, Lieutenant Rose seize control of the commanders aboard another, Zade hack the third, and we use the previously mentioned attack patern to disable the remaining two."

"We can try talking to them, but that is an agressive formation, meant for overlapping fields of fire. I expect incoming hails to happen within the next minute if they do so, followed by the ships closing to range and opening fire."

Sapphire gave her striking captain a graceful, assent nod, her cascade of rich blue hair rippling, then crossed her legs, resting her hands primly on her lap, long, sable lashes fluttering close over her twilight eyes. With her lavish beauty and diaphanous dress, her decorous pose served only to emphasize her sensual presence.

"Then you shall know what they want, Captain," Sapphire murmured throatily. The enticing Elan may have appeared soft and yielding, but to those who looked deeper, they could see the iron resolve of one who had seen - experience - the deepest, darkest depths of mortality's heart.

Sapphire's thoughts drifted out of her corporeal form, flowing across the vastness of space and danced upon the subtle consciousness of the universe. With composed confidence, she reached out unseen and unfelt fingers and dipped them into the thoughts of those manning the pentagramal formation of ships, seeking derive their intent.

As she reached out to touch the minds of those on board the advancing ships, she felt such malice in them, such hate, these were not simply Legion ships, they were Demon ships, likely freed from one of the hell dimensions. What they wanted was simply, to catch this ship, and draw it into those dimensions, preventing a peaceful resolution and turning this entire sector into a state of war and conflict, that should even shatter the Emerald Empire itself, leaving the Legion to pick up the pieces.

The pentagram was what they were using to catch the Scherazade, disrupt at least three of the points, and their plan would shatter. Even as Rose picked up this information, she detected other telepathic minds reaching out to the ship, some of those aboard the enemy ship were demonic empaths and telepaths, and they were about to unleash a wave of psychic terror upon the ship.

"Those are Legion Demon Ships from the Hells themselves," Sapphire informed the crew, her natural sultry tones holding a deep note of resolute iron that only one of them may have heard before. "And they are trying to send us there in their stead. We need to disable three- brace for psychic assault!"

Sapphire heard the mounting screams, the reverberating terror the Legion was set to unleash and her captivating visage became smooth and placid as she remembered the terrible emanation of the Reavers who had destroyed her old life. Not this time, I have faced it before, and survived, there are no depths I fear to face and I will pit my voice against yours.

Her glorious twilight eyes shot open, glowing incandescently as Sapphire placed herself between Scheherazade and the Legion. Her crew-mates could feel the Terror-Scream of the Demon Ships approaching, then a rising desire encompassing them, emboldening them, strengthening then against any and all who dared to try to turn them against themselves.

Chance was still somewhat dazed by the intimate encounter with Sapphire and she found herself unable to not steal a look whenever she could or felt unwatched. It made her feel good and just being around her was pleasing and soothing. The young witch had taken her station on the bridge, focusing on her task and trying to push back the emotions caused by the entrancing Elan. She went throug the procedure’s she had learnt and slowly managed to regain her former security and concentration.

Suddenly the alarms went off and Chance felt the Legion stir inside in anticipation. It made her feel sick for a few seconds before she realized what was about to happen. Turning around to warn her Captain she saw that the everyone was already engaged in initiating countermeasures and evaluating the situation. Things were definitely happening too fast for her and all she could do is hold on to her station.

Common, do something – do something!, Chance implored herself checking her console for options. She quickly typed in some commands and replayed the last messages sent by Kaien, who was obviously in charge of the ships defensive systems. Legion ships? Pentagram? Oh no, this can’t be happening!, she stared to the screen which showed the ships in formation and instantly knew why the Legion was literally going crazy inside her. „This is not good...“, she quietly said to herself fearing that she may pose some kind of threat to the crew. Having absolutely no experience at all with an encounter of this proportion Chance couldn’t tell if the attackers had some means to contact the Legion inside her and... she didn’t dare to think about the consequences.

Bolstered as they were by Sapphires sudden heroic action, it was like being cushioned in a psychic wind, as she bolstered the will of everyone involved. Strengthened against the psychic shock, most of the crew as able to throw off the effects. Meanwhile, the ships began to shift in order to catch the Scherazade between them like a net.

Within Chance's mind and soul, she could hear the legion scream in fury for a moment, even protecting her own mind from the effects of the wave of psychic terror.

"Lt. Saotome, disable one of the ships," Capt. Daylan said, her voice shaking as she shook off the mental assault. Thanks be to the A'fen D'Lan for Sapphire! Namiah thought, even as she continued, "Ensign Zade, can you hack their systems? And Lt. Rose, can you mentally disable the commanding officer on the third? Lt. Hayte, please target a fourth with the ship's weapons and bring all necessary force to bear to remove it."

She hated violence. But she would use it as a tool, when violence was used against her.

"Aye, Captain," Sapphire replied in her mellifluous, sultry tones. The bolstering sense of warm desire faded - almost regretfully - as Sapphire closed her twilight eyes and began psychically delving for the commander of the Legion fleet, to make its will her own.

Reacting to the attack, Zade responded quickly. "Hacking commencing captain, ship's avatar response time decreased by 95% during hacking, system analysis indicates a limit of attacking one ship system at a time." With that, Zade plunged into a demonic computer system, using tools the rest of the crew couldn't even see, but results could be seen almost immediately, as one of the ships began to lose position.

Meanwhile, as Layle unloaded the ship's weapons onto another ship, the blast of torpedoes coming across it's shields forcing it into a more defensive posture, the enemy ship's shields were holding however, but were clearly stressed. From his insturment readings, ones that both he and the captain could see, they could break though those shields if they closed the distance and used more of their weapons.

Sapphire rifled though minds like a gambler rifling though a deck of cards, until she found the one she needed, it turned out the captain was part of the ship, and telepathic itself, though it didn't detect her, sense she was so subtle in her search, it had mental protections, she would need to try something creative to get though them.

Kaien nodded to her order, checked his charts of the ships under attack and smiled. THIS was where he did excel. In an instant he was gone, reappearing unaffraid and undettered in space. He couldn't make it inside in one go, not without leaving himself open, so he resigned himself to take down the shields. He lashed out with all the Fury of the Xydarian Exemplar, and was rewarded with the bright flicker and rapid fade of shields failing. He'd be inside in a few moments, and their engines would be destroyed.

Chance was still shaking off the lingering effect the Legion had caused and when the action started she was momentarily confused and scared what to do. Everyone responded quickly and instinctively committing themselves to their tasks as Captain Daylan issued commands to seize the situation.

Common, pull yourself together – help them!, the young witch checked her console and tried to follow the events as they updated in a matter of seconds. There must’ve been something she could do. She placed her hands on the console and relaxed, her pupils dilating as she unfocused her sight and opened her mind for the imperceptible. Her vision changed revealing magical lines of fate which connected everything to everything around her. The pattern seemed chaotic at first glance but Chance knew exactly how to scan it and manipulate it. She had no explanation for this gift and most of her talent was based purely on instincts.

As if under their own power her hands started moving over the console tapping lines which would change the course of fate. To the outside observer it must’ve appeared as if she was randomly pushing buttons but in reality powerful magic was channeled through her body. Magic that could change fate itself.

A ravishing grimace marred Sapphire's captivating visage, smooth brow furrowed with annoyance and effort. "The Legion Captain is a part of the ship, Nami, and naturally, has intensive mental shielding. I am going to attempt... a distraction to split his focus, perhaps granting me a crack to slip through."

Sapphire dropped her lock on the Ship-melded Legionnaire, spreading her awareness out around him. The Legion Captain was in an isolated, centrally located engineering bay, several other Legionnaires maintaining the ship's and the captain's function. And like all members of the Legion, they were filled with hate and spite. This time, she stirred her fingers in the mind of the Demon Captain's weaker subordinates, redirecting that hate, focusing it on their captain, they're captor, the one demanding they see to his needs, forcing his immobility onto them...

Let us see how your psychic protection holds as your minions try to tear you apart...

Though Sapphire isn't actually making a roll, Chance has also used her Magic (Probability Control) to aid Sapphire's efforts, if that will help.

It was easy for Sapphire to refocus their hate, as they already hated their captain, sense he ruled by fear and power, enhanced as her assault was with Chance's actions, many of the crew around the captain were influenced, and turned against the captain, and the ship's performance began to suffer, as he had to turn his attention to them, rather then running the ship.

Meanwhile, the other demon ships were orienting on the Scherazade and beginning to return fire, even as the ship was beginning to show both the capabilities of the ship, and it's crew.

It took them about five minutes or so, but the team managed to break though the defenses and reenter hyperspace, onward to Eden. At last they arrived in Eden where after a few issues getting though to the right people, they were at last granted an audience with the empress.
