His eyes nearly always twinkle with delight in some thing that has attracted his inquisitive mind. Similarly he nearly always has at least a tiny trace of a smirk or smile (its hard to tell which) at the corners of his mouth. Though not tall Goro is atypical for a Japanese man with long limbs and long thin fingers that exhibit a graceful nimbleness that the rest of his actions rarely show.Personality: Easy going and friendly, it's difficult to not get along with Goro unless one tries. The charismatic doctor is known to have a level head and calm demeanor without being cold. ,,Interests: just about everything, but specifically medicine, music, and archeology.History: Kondo Goro is possessed of a singularly unique mind. One of mankind's most intelligent citizen's Goro has multiple doctorates, in medicine, biology, and chemistry. In addition he has prodigious talent as a trained musician and as an archaeologist. Remarkably, impossibly, blindingly smart Goro is also incredibly perceptive and charming in a sort of comfortable and relaxed way. Born in Japan Goro emigrated to the US as a child with his parents. His father was a successful engineer and provided all the education that his young prodigy could ask. Language lessons, music instruction, and tutors in any subject that he found interesting or expressed the desire for more in depth instruction. By the time he was eighteen he had a masters in chemistry and a PhD in applied biology. At twenty six he had his medical degree and a chemistry doctorate as well. His medical knowledge is extensive including surgery techniques, genetic modification, and drug therapies. Goro maintains a balance of research and innovation with more traditional eastern medicine. He's not afraid to fall back on either if the best course for treatment lies in that direction. He's equally comfortable using acupuncture and retroviral RNA therapies. In his personal life he is equally balanced honoring his Shinto beliefs despite his scientific nature. He is fond of saying, "Just because we can perceive or understand something does not mean it does not exist. Before Newton's papers on gravity objects still fell to the Earth according to those laws."Goro first worked with the SGC in 2002 to investigate a new disease. At the time Goro was unaware of the actual purpose of the SGC and was only told that the disease had been recovered within an ice core from the Antarctic. Although the team was eventually disbanded without finding a cure to the disease Goro had made an impression on the leadership at the SGC. He was later brought in to work on the artificial Tretonin drug, and quickly made the short list for the Atlantis expedition.
