Mr Fox
Just a note for you guys regarding your Paychecks from the Air Force. Being on SG teams you guys are considered to be going into a combat zone every time you go on a mission, so as long as you go on at least one mission a month your month's pay is TAX FREE! That is a huge benefit.Pay per month:Colonel: $8500 per monthMajor: $8200/mo.Captain: $7400/moLieutenant: $7200/moSgt: $5000/moSo far you guys have received 2 paychecks. Noah Weston
Wow, $7,200 a month? Largely tax free!? That is a crapload of Money for a single guy! I guess I should be upping Noah's Resources background soon.
Rorx
How do the non-military Specialist rate, or is it simply by equivalent Backing to Rank, so Backing 5 = Colonel etc?
Mr Fox
Sorry yes. Specialist Backing=Rank. Colonel = 5, Sgt = 1.
Aradia McConnell
What if we hadn't taken backing? I wasn't aware I needed to when I created Aradia - I didn't know much, remember? I guess I should start put a point in there w/XP?
Mr Fox
Edited the last few posts to change the title back to OOC thread: Table talk. It was getting confusing... I kept thinking people were posting in the Setting Info thread.
Courier
Yeah, I did. And NP getting rid of clutter there. So Steve gets 5k a month (when he gets paid)... plus all the money he can steal.

Rorx
I guess from Fox's scale that Backing/Rank 0 wuld still get between $3-4000 a month?
Mr Fox
You have to have at least Rank/Backing of 1. Otherwise you wouldn't be trusted enough to participate in the SGC program.
Mr Fox
Anyone not already involved in the Strangers thread is welcome to join at this point. The group is about to leave for a fancy dress up dinner at a nice restaurant. Assume that the other specialists have been casually invited as people bumped into either other in the halls after coming back from shopping. Noah Weston
Is he actually gonna go?
Forge
I wanna know who invited him. The obvious answer is Liv, but would she really invite him? We have had a date by the time Strangers happened and we haven't even started that fic. We may be at each other's throats for all we know. Not to mention Vin's reputation for being a rather gruff person...not the first guy you think of when the word 'fancy' is mentioned.
Aradia McConnell
There's always the concept that he was invited, but was too busy or maybe people knew he was on duty working on something, there's all kinds of excuses if you don't feel like drawing him in right now.. (with good reason, since you don't know how that's gonna go w/the date). So.. yeah. Heh.
z-Olivia Jenings-Izumi
A bit of explanation is in order, I think. This was started when I had the idea that Wakiki would take his sister to dinner. By this time in the timeline, not only should Wakiki have had a boy's talk with Vinny, but I thought that a bonding event might occur. I was also, for convenience, assuming a positive date, which, as Forge pointed out, is a generous assumption (but hey, I can be like that). Obviously, I need to rethink that. The dinner started as Livy's b-day dinner. Vinny and Aradia were the only PCs getting invited... but Yseult's plight moved Livy enough to offer... and with the offer to her, it would have been rude to tell everyone else to fuck off. Especially to Cam, whom was brain-dead and has missed some of his life, and whom Livy has a soft spot for (given their connection). And Damien and Gwyn are her teammates, Ryan's her friend, and so on, until, somewhere, the concept of a quiet celebration with her brother and two friends/whatever-Vinny-is got lost. But that happens with parties, and while Wakiki might be a little irritated, he'll cope, not to mention that he doesn't have much choice, since it's Livy's day and she invited most of the people. But that's how it started, and why Vinny likely would have had an invite. But given the OOC status of things, it's probably just as well that he not come, no matter whether Livy wants him there or not.Make sense? It's almost 4 am as I write this, and that means I lack coherency.
Yseult Sierra
This is considered uncoherent? I finished Yseult's post about getting dressed a little before 4am, and I had to read it again just to remember what the hell I wrote. Hehe, sorry about Yseult's carefully planned emotion assault on Livy to get herself invited to the dinner, and therefore everyone else, just so Livy wouldn't feel bad. It's all part of Yseult's nefarious scheme to... well she can't tell you, yet.
Mr Fox
Hey Omar, would you mind making a little edit. In my universe I've got Eufiber being created via matter creation rather than by the much less appetizing bodily secretion method.
Omar
Omar's eufiber was from the original starting world, where Buendida did exist. (i.e. at character creation). Omar already had his eufiber by the time it was re-created using Matter Creation. I know Kyria's model was created later.Of course, it is possible that Omar had to change out his suit for a newer model at some point.
Mr Fox
I understand, I just hate WWs idea that it was the guys body secretions. I like playing it as matter creation. So even in the original timeline Buendia created it, but didn't 'excrete' it.

Forge
Vinny would be very offended if he found out Ari went to Caine instead of him for advice, that is so breaking some kind of unspoken rule...not to mention...it is /Caine/!
Aradia McConnell
LOL - to be perfectly honest, Forge, I was just trying not to add to your work load, I know you're really busy right now and I didn't want to add to your posting schedule. Otherwise I would have had Ari go to Vinny first, that was my first instinct. Do you want me to modify it that she went to talk to Vinny and he wasn't in the office? I'll make sure to ask you next time something comes up, instead of assuming.
Adrian Moss
Well ... much of Caine's advice was good. The rest was what he truly believes and would truly shake him up if he realized they were all virtual prisoners. Mind you, this could be the case.He would like to think that Declan could live in some quiet cabin somewhere, but he knows that is a long shot. Declan is someone too dangerous to release. One problem with keeping everyone is that one day they will have to kill us. I'm not sure the SGC is willing to go to that dark place, not with O'Neil in charge.
